  1. We had that happen when we had moved. However, the process was in limbo until an InfoPass appointment was made. Don't count on just the AR-11. I would make an InfoPass appointment at your new location and make sure the address change went through.
  2. IF you can go pick her up you should do so. Often at the POE she will be asked many questions and it will be easier for her if you are there. I remember the words they said to my wife, "if you are not married in 90 days, out you go!" In addition, there are forms you have to submit, it can be confusing unless her conversational english is good. The Homeland Security officials have alot to deal with at the POE, etc. and not alot of time to do so, so my recommendation is go and bring her back if you can.
  3. I can tell you as an attorney, that you want to find someone with experience in this area if you hire anyone. I have not heard any attorneys that could speed up the process. Their main function probably would be to make sure your documents are in order.
  4. You can call your local Bar Association and obtain the names of Immigration attorneys. Then look them up and see what their experience is in relation to china.
  5. I moved and even though we filed the appropriate forms, we had all sorts of trouble. I would file the various forms and make an infopass appt. to verify that it was completed.
  6. I have heard of no one needing the x-ray for any reasons.
  7. Just send what they ask for and include in a letter items that are not relevant.
  8. Use a driving school. They are the professionals with dual control cars, etc.
  9. That is why is it so important to have all your documents organized in a binder with tabs and ready to go. If they ask for a document, its right there.
  10. We had that problem as well. It is the Social Security computer system. Then months later when it still did not come, back we went. They again said it was not approved on the computer. I contacted a local Congressman to check into the matter and the card came shortly thereafter.
  11. uscis.gov on the left side there is an area that says forms.
  12. Apply now for her SS card in her unmarried name. They will not issue it in a nonlegal name. Then once you receive it, apply for a name change and bring a copy of your marriage certificate.
  13. If someone at a Consulate would tell me something other than written on the instructions, I think that you would not be asking for too much, if you asked for them to put the exception in an offical writing. Since that will probably not happen, get it notarized.
  14. When you are not married apply for a K1 card in her maiden name. Then after you get married go back to the SS office with a marriage cert. copy and have the card issued in the married name. For now, since you are in the US and have 90 days to get married, start making the arrangements. Once you are married file the AOS immediately along with the EAD application if she will work.
