Singapore's 99 year vs China's 70 year leases
In China you OWN your property indefinitely. If the government wants to take "their land" back, they will need to replace the home with a new equivalent home at 1.3 times the floor space. Nobody actually holds a lease - the developers who bought it in the first place have LONG since disappeared.
That is, the "lease" applies to the land only.

As the oldest public housing flats near the halfway mark of their 99-year leases, owners grapple with the fear that what once seemed an astute investment now seems doomed to depreciation

Mapping China - Chinese style
GPS offset in data for China - The offset shows clearly here between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. San Sham Road in Hong Kong connects directly to XinShen Rd. in Shenzhen, but, due to the offset applied to the Chinese side, well, it's off by a couple hundred yards or so.

Their walk began at Laolongtou -- or the Old Dragon's Head -- in Shanhai Pass, where what was once believed to be the easternmost stretch of the Wall reaches into the Bohai Sea.
