  1. My understanding is that at least in Florida if your SO comes from another country, they are rated as an inexperienced driver. For example, they get no credit for a prior China drivers license.
  2. http://www.lowestpricetrafficschool.com/driver-education/ My understanding is the Drug and Alc is online, and even the exam portion of the test except for the driving test. http://www.lowestpricetrafficschool.com/driver-education/ DMV Exam Online Ready to hit the road? We can get you there in just two simple steps! 1. Complete the Florida State required 4-hour Drug and Alcohol Course. 2. Log on to your Lowest Price Traffic School account and take the DMV Exam online $19.95 More Info | Log in
  3. This is from the website of the State of Florida. http://www.hsmv.state.fl.us/ddl/educate_sess.html Maybe China is now included. I would check. If not the course is online. Reasons for Attending Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education If you have never held a regular driver license in any state, country, or jurisdiction, you must complete a Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education course before applying for a temporary driving permit (restricted driver license) in the state of Florida. The driver education courses offered by some county school boards may substitute for this requirement. Please contact your local school board for further information.
  4. Also FL issues the drivers license until the date of expiration of the EAD etc. Thus, the most it is good for is one year.
  5. My understanding is the Drug and Alc is not waived for China but it is for Taiwan.
  6. They were not supposed to keep this form. It should be stapled in her passport. Check her passport pages carefully.
  7. I would obtain an immediate appointment with an Immigration attorney and let them handle the matter, rather than you file the appeal if you have the funds for an attorney. What seems mundane with immigration matters can turn into a real headache.
  8. Congrats to both of you! Two months is a long wait. Maybe take your chances and apply for AP as quicly as possible. Maybe you can explain the circumstances and have AP expedited. If you both can wait the two months than I would stay.
  9. It is true that your wife may be homesick; however, she will make friends in the US and can always call and use the webcam to "visit" her relatives. There is alot to be said for the USA. Shenzhen is not crime free, in fact I often hear about the crime in this city. USA has clean drinking water and lots too see. She will most likely enjoy living here. Its true, find her an Asian store in your area.
  10. What about pourer tea? Anyone have any experience with its benefits?
  11. I would go and talk to immigration officials immediately as you are doing. As I had stated before, the AR11 seems to do nothing. So does the phonecall. The InfoPass seems the only way. I think if you do not have any success with immigration, I would contact a lawyer now. If you wait too long, then the lawyer will not have time to help. This may be too serious to go it alone.
  12. We had moved twice during the process and had sent timely address changes and made the call to customer service. If you are in the same boat, your file will be in limbo somewhere until you make the InfoPass apt. They will probably not know where your file is and will tell you come back in a month. I would make the INFOPASS appointment now. I would bring all copies of your prior changes of address with you. Check the new office you are moving too and find out if their timeline states you should have received an interview.
  13. You need to make an InfoPass Appointment at your new location. We had the same problem. The Change of Address forms did nothing. The calls to customer service did nothing. Only an InfoPass appoint worked for us. They transferred the file and in about a month or two an interview was scheduled at the new location.
  14. If I were you I would open an account for savings at ingdirect.com or emigrantdirect.com THe interest is over 5 % and its FDIC insured. You may have less hassles.
  15. Congrats to you! Not all lawyers are bad!! From a lawyer.
  16. Well it is best to write back and forth to get to know her. You need to meet her in person prior to filing any K1 petition. The government will want to see pictures and evidence of your relationship. I would not even think engagement until you have met and decide it. You have not met so you need to give it time. Go buy a ticket to China. Look on candle for information on ticket prices. Call Northwest Air or flychina.com In addition, there are great jewelry stores in China if it goes that far. You can get 18K gold, 24K, Platinum, etc. The prices are reasonable.
