Yahoo got the GC in the mail yesterday. thanks for the replies, It was a 2 year card but the issue date is 12/28/06 and it says the expiration date is 12/28/08. Based on that it looks at least my wife's card is not based on her interview but rather when they printed the card. So she's at least good for a couple of years. So the year long wait doesn't sound to good to remove conditions. hopefully that'll go quicker in a couple of years. So what are you supposed to do while waiting to remove conditions? more i-131's and work cards? Congrats Papa Bear & wife plus all the others getting greencards. I don't know for sure which one they will send, but the welcome letter stated that they are issuing a 2 year card. They also said it should arrive witin 30 days. we are keepin our fingers crosssed and checking the mail everyday. I don't quite understand your statement about 2 year removal of conditions of green card based on interview. Is it 2 years from date of marriage, two years from date of i-485 apllication, two years from fbi namecheck submission or two year from issue of greencard? married feb 2005 i-485 application reciept feb 2005 fbi namecheck submitted march 2005 interview august 2005 thanks for all the replies & I know we are truly lucky some of the other horror stories with the fbi nmecheck are a lot longer than ours it is truly a crime that there is no accountability with that portion of immigration process. best of to all Dan & Gwen

great news. just recieved notification that my wife's fbi namecheck cleared, been in namecheck 22 months. Also recieved notification a couple days ago via email that the welcome letter has been sent and green card should be here in less than 60 days. Thankyou Uscis for a xmas present saves me another work card, i-131 fees + filing writ of mandamus. My wife's only been here 24 months finally welcomed. It's great to see all our hard working employees of the bureau of homeland insecurity and those speed demons at the fbi get off thier a**es and do something. My wife & I are in a similar situation interviewed 9/2005. contacted the state senator, a few infopass appts, imm officer resubmitted her info twice & sent emails to fbi. still waiting, just got a notice wife's fingerprint's have expired (18 months), now we gotta go get another set taken at the imm office. there breaking my bank with 1-131's, & work cards, just a money racket. Now we got a new senator elect i'll be tryin him next, but i'm not holding my breath anymore, lol. I haven't been on in a while, I was wondering has anyone heard of anybody who has been a long time name check victim getting there greencard? How long has it taken? Or if anybody has another angle to go about trying to get a little action from our devoted civil servants at Homeland Insceurity or the Federal Beuracracy of Investigation? happy holidays all & Xiaowen & Dan

congrats to all of the recent green card recipients. Took my stepson for his aos interview today. 3 questions for him from the interviewer name, birthday & school name. handed the sealed medical to the interviewer and that was it. Passed with flying colors < 5 minutes. thank goodness that's over, hopefully a 6 year old's security check can get done in a normal amount of time!! The interviewer seemed to be quite friendly and professional, so after my stepson was done i asked about my wife's case. Her case has been pending security check, she had her interview in august of last year. He told us that her security check was submitted to the fbi in march of last year. He also said that every 6 months with out a reply from the fbi that the uscis may email the fbi to try to expedite the name check. If the fbi responds it is usually between 60-90 days of the email. Due to procedural rules the uscis can not email the fbi again about a particular case for 6 months. Remembering what kim&jake said about the 1 yr time limit and the uscis can resubmit the name check, i asked about this and he said that was not procedure, only the emails every 6 months. So he emailed the fbi why we sat there and we are keeping are fingers crossed. But as i have found out, it is rare to find a customer service person at the uscis who will go out of thier way to help or send an email, so good luck all. hopefully this has been helpful. if any of you others that are in the same boat hear anything at all please pass it along. guo nian hao ¹ýÄêºÃ Xiaowen & Dan

xxxsorry to hear the bad news, it's amazing the amount of fear our government has, think of all the tourist dollars our country is losing to europe with asian tourists. just curious, what consulate did your sister in law appy at? we are thinking of having my wife's parents visit and i hear some of the consulates in the less prominent provinces are easier than others.

just curious, what is your local office for aos? we filed through cleveland and don't get much in the way of relevent updates, The only way i found out the little bit i know, is by contacting our senator, he has an aid that handles immigration q's. Have you had luck discussing your case with the uscis 800 number?

your a# should be on your i-129 form or on her visa. yes, for the other q's a civil surgeon can do a vaccination supplement for your aos interview. best of luck to ya.

we filed early last year and mailed the aos & ead seperately, one check for aos & biometrics & one check for ead. no problems with them cashing the checks and applying payments. But to be safe it wouldn't hurt to call the 800 number to be sure, they should be able to help with that easily, if you can battle your way through their sh*tty voice prompts to get to a person. best of luck

thanks for all the responses to my last post & poll, very informative. I did a little digging on some old messages in other immigration forums and discovered an email address for the fbi name check. Just curious has anyone else who is in this security blackhole try this and did you recieve any response? tried the fbi 800 number too, but just a recording now. Just curious, my wife has been in this aos security check limbo now for about 6 months. she had her interview in August, so far we have filed 4 inquiries with the uscis 1-800 no help line, a couple of infopass appts. & contacted our senator's office. After all of this we finally recieved a letter from immigration this past december. This letter states the obvious, we are in a security check and contact them again in 9-12 months if we have not recieved the green card. questions: 1. Has any of the other folks out there in the same situation, recieved a similar letter? 2. Is there anybody out there that has been in this extended security check that has been approved? how long did it take you? 3. Has anyone who has been in this situation, hire an attorney? did it help? 4. Since we are in this limbo, does anyone know if my wife may recieve some sort of frequent business travel pass (other than multiple i-131's)? My wife has the opportunity to continue to consult for her former employer a few times a year, in 1 month visits. This immigration process is such a money racket, so far we have paid for 2 i-131's, i-485, 2 i-765's, and recieved very little respect, professional service or results from our hardworking government employees. thanks Xiaowen & Dan

It's nice to know we are not the only one in this boat. i'll post anything that may happen with our senators' aide, I plan to email him again and try & get more specific info from him. I don't think it would hurt to contact your senator, the more people working on this maybe someone can get some answers. i hope you & all of us security check nightmare folks get some good news soon. i don't know about all the legalities of the right to privacy, but we have contacted the senator's aid twice, not signed anything and each time his information has proven to be more detailed and more timely than the 800 number. here is an update to our case and hopefully pass on a little info in one of the many grey areas; my stepson had his biometrics today, so since we were at the imm office, i made an infopass appt. about my wife's green card. needless to say after much questioning the official at the office admitted that my wife's case is pending a security check, same as the aid said a couple of weeks ago. he said this check can take anywhere between 1 day and 2 years to complete and there is no way to get a better time estimate or do anything to expedite this. So thank goodness for the [SIZE=7]Bureacracy of Homeland Insecurity & Fear[/size], and the worthless president who brought us this great government dept. thanks for the responses, especially tunger88, most positive news we've heard all day. best of luck to all it's like i told my wife, America likes her so much that they won't let her leave i got belted for that remark
