1. a 9...was told I should have put c 24.... 182660 not sure why you would use C24... LIFE Legalization applicant--( c )( 24 ) 182771 When my wife's friend's husband called INS...that's what they told them to put and to mail it all in together. I sent two different packages in...one to the EAD address and one to the AOS address. According to the instructions, I think I did the right thing. But who knows? The entire INS is a bureaucratic nightmare anyways....I'm sure they'll rush a notice right out to me to let me know if I've made a mistake...
2. Well...I appreciate everyone's help. I ended up turning in the AOS and EAD app's separately. A friend of my wife's told her today that they called the INS hotline and told them to send them in together. Oh frickin' well...I guess if I screwed-up they'll let me know...right?
3. Ok...so I have all the info gathered for the AOS and EAD applications...but I'm a little stumped on these two items: 1) Which address do I use for the K3 EAD application? I've seen info that says you can file both the AOS and EAD together to the AOS address in Chicago, but instructions on the I-765 says to send it to a different address. What should I do? 2) My wife says that a friend of her's had a bad experience combining the AOS application fee and the biometrics fee into one check to pay for both. Apparantly INS later asked for the biometrics fee even though the total amount was submitted for both AOS and biometrics (one check.) Everything I've seen is that it's ok to do this. What's the best advice? Thanks!
4. Do you have a link to that I-693 Supplemental form...or is that simply the I-693 form? 172691 That would be Appendix A Technical Instructions for Civil Surgeons The civil surgeon usually supplies this. The instructions for AOS are also on this page in the event you find everyone wants to do a complete physical instead of processing the vaccination requirements. 172719 Thanks, Lee!
5. Do you have a link to that I-693 Supplemental form...or is that simply the I-693 form?
6. Frank... I very much appreciate your help...and everyone else here that's given me advice. Thanks so much... R
7. Thank you for all the congrats, everyone! I guess I'm really slow...but I'm not sure where to start with the AOS. Can anyone explain this thing to me? Here's the situation: She doesn't have an immunization record...so is this the first thing we should do? Get her shots? I know we need some sort of medical record for the AOS...and only with a NOA for the AOS can we start the EAD...is this correct? HELP! B) R
8. Thanks...so does that mean I need to check into vaccinations for her before I file for the AOS? Is there a list of vaccinations needed somewhere I can look at?
9. Just wanted to update you all... My laopo arrived here in the US on the 20th of this month...no problems at all! I am so relieved and finding out how much I really missed her all these months! She has already adjusted...my family loves her...and she loves her new home. WOW! I couldn't ask for anything more.... ...Well...ok....one thing I would ask for is that this AOS thing was underway! Seems we don't have a copy of the medical check she had in GZ...so does that mean we have to have another med check here to send in with the AOS paperwork? Any help would be very much appreciated! R
10. Hey! Thanks everyone for your replies. Once again this forum has been a big help. Here's one more question for you all: I'm a little fuzzy about the AOS...so do I cancel her CR-1 in favor of the AOS process? Before you ask...we'd rather do the process here than go back to the consulate for another interview... Thanks again!
11. Hello everyone....can anyone tell me if vaccinations are required before entry into the US on a K-3 visa? My guess is "no"...since the visa was issued it means she can come to the US. But...I'm not sure...any help, please? Thanks!
12. I've used USPS everytime...and I wasn't (and still am not) smart enough to write the address in Chinese characters. It still arrived there without any problems...and on time!
13. Yes...she will be coming through from Japan to Dallas...on AA...
