  1. For you Chinese ladies: So Texas is known for beef (cow). We eat a lot of cow. The male cow is a Bull. We are known for being full of hot air and Bull poo.
  2. Boy am I ever having trouble answering from this hotel. Text gets corrupted. I almost answered this, and duh, it is your original question huh? haha I get the same error message, and it has been 4 months. I tried many times and probably called them about this. We have sent and received packages through CITIC Bank, and documents via email since the interview, so all is working well regardless. Are you DCF, or did you file from the states like me? From the way ustraveldocs.com or CGI Stanley, whatever you want to call them, from the way their web screens read it seems geared toward DCF folks and scheduling the interview. Whereas for us state side fillers, the NVC or consulate schedules the interview. I really only needed this ustraveldocs.com website to schedule the CITIC Bank. But I guess we need to register there also. I may be wrong but I think their primary purpose is for DCF folks. I wonder if DCF folks get that error message. I had other issues to worry about. The thingie that gives you a number to make sure you're a real person would not load most of the time in China. I called at least 3 times about that. I was not really believed. The website is very lacking. I just ignore the error message. I still have it too, and everything is working.
  3. Yea I kind of figured and ustraveldocs.com is more complicated than it should be, with no explanations or definitions, just like the rest of the process, leaving us in a fog. I wish I had documented more, but I was in China when doing all this and in a hurry. The internet was slow and I was limited in what I could do on candle, oh and no tinypic.com either, as I recall. I guess I could have taken more screen shots. It takes a little time to screenshot into powerpoint, do some screen shots, which save as bitmaps, then reduce pixels and then make as a jpg, then tinypic. I put these in CFV also. Oh, I could not add to the OP in my Prelim Approved thread. Now it says I have too many pics there, so I added it 2 places there. It will all change in a year....probably.
  4. So, what would happen if you got a 2nd green card? Say you lost it. One to keep, one to carry. I actually used to do that with a DL, for some reason, I can't remember why.
  5. . Somehow I am reminded about that sewer line Carl would dig up.
  6. Gosh dang-it, .......................
  7. So, should he go alone, or they together to HK, after filing the DCF? Or he file and go to HK, then she follow just a little later? Hello xiangyixiang and welcome to CFL. I actually know nothing, but welcome. I do wonder, all you good experts, what about showing support in the USA, since he works in China/HK? I wonder this about every DCF.
  8. My wife is the same. I mentioned carrying it to her a little while back and...........we'll just say that she said "no." If she works I hope she keeps it in her purse. Take her up to the Canadian border and turn around at the border patrol station, or down here in the tip of Tejas. Better yet, just take I-8 to San Diego. Maybe you can pick her up on the way back, if they are ready to let her go by then.
  9. More things to consider. Be sure and fill out all the screens on the CGI Stanley website and then if you want to check and make sure they have the correct CGI Stanley location, do this from the Dashboard screen. Yes, they call this the Dashboard: Note: There may be many CITIC Banks in your city, but we are limited which ones to pick. So pick the nearest you can. When you get to that bank, they may direct you to the main CITIC Bank for that city, to send documents to the Guangzhou Consulate. Just do what they say. The branch bank will send to the main bank anyway to go to Guangzhou, so we were told at our bank. When Guangzhou sends something to you for pick up, it may be at the bank you selected, or it may be at the main bank for your city. Just roll with the Flo
  10. You need to fill out all of these screens, if you have not already done so. It is a second way to select the CITIC Bank pick up location, as I recall. Don't remember the main way, as I was in China then and limited what I could post on CFL, and CFV never opened. If you have filled out all of the screens then here is a way to check to make sure they have your CITIC Bank location selected and in their system. http://i61.tinypic.com/2qbhu76.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/33wqrgi.jpg Note: There are many CITIC Banks in larger cities. But, you are limited by what they give you. When you go to that bank, they may direct you to the main bank in that city to send something to the consulate. Just follow their direction. When Guangzhou sends something to you, it will probably be at the bank you selected, but again, that bank may direct you to the main bank in that city. Just go with the flow
  11. Actually there is a screen that shows it, but I need to travel tonight. If I get time I will look up how to find the thing and post some screen shots. It is a little complicated, by clicking through all the sign up pages, as I recall. Anyway, later. I think, click on the little buttons on the toppish of the dashboard, then click through those sing up pages, which should already be filled out. you should come across the CITIC location on one of those pages, as I recall. PS: Here you go. From the Dashboard: http://i61.tinypic.com/2qbhu76.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/33wqrgi.jpg
  12. I don't want to say just take it. Raise hell with your elected. Then some day we need to become a cohesive group and fight for change politically.
  13. Well sure, I understand all that. I just have little time other than this insane job I have. If I am not working, like right now, I need to be. I'm covering for 3 men out, besides my own area. If I could put this much effort into the thing.... well I would like to is all. Nothing like fighting city hall for 25 years... Being so lax, my angle is to allow visitation by those seeking immigration. Both work until they get the immigration visa, usually. The USC runs out of vacation time. The Chinese spouse has more holidays and usually easier to get off work anyway, it seems to me. They are FAMILY, and this is the BIG excuse in the media, to not separate families. I simply want to see some allowance, for being a visitor. That same person, your spouse, can get a visitor visa right up until they marry you, if job, property owner, child at home, & etc.
  14. Yes, you should ALWAYS have that green card with you. I have run into this with my ex, and if she did not have a photo copy of the green card with her at the time we could have had a little more trouble. She thought she was supposed to keep the green card in a safe place, WRONG. So now she carries it. When you get close to one of our borders they have Border Patrol stations set up, and you must show it. You might be 100 miles from a border, but that is where they set up sometimes. I doubt you will ever have trouble in Oklahoma, unless the police want to see it.
  15. EXACTLY, the prevention of deportation, and the allowance of illegal aliens to stay with their family in the USA, while the process takes place is the basis of my biggest argument. Heck, the door isn't even officially open yet for them to immigrate. Now just how this can make enough noise I am not sure yet. Boy how I wish I was retired. I would make this my job, to make a lot of noise and pursue every avenue. Illegal aliens have more rights than I do, or that my wife has. Taking everything into account promotes more illegal entry. I am sure there is a cash underground for Chinese workers in the USA, if the spouse wanted to work. I have yet to receive a response from any of my representatives on this issue, and in fact a little scowl from my lady House Rep when asked some of these questions back in 2006-7 time frame my first go-round. Wow, Tsap, I will take better care on my trips to China. I don't poses any great secrets, but I have to be careful of ITAR drawings and emails. If I had been you and left some something in my bag, I might have got in a little trouble.
  16. I got the Q2 because my wife still lives in China. Not sure how the in-law thing would make a Q visa, but maybe...
  17. PS: I don't think this case will make it. There are security issues here, compared to most countries. BUT great if it does win. This has strongly been on my mind. We are separated from our families by law: no visitor visa while waiting for family visa. YET, those in this country illegally can remain with their families while becoming legal, they will NOT be deported. HIS IS A GREAT INJUSTICE to us US Citizens following the law. So, I have been thinking of just how a class action suite can be made over this double standard. GIVE us a visitor visa while we wait for a green card like the illegals, AT LEAST! I would be so surprised if the ACLU would take up our cause. I want to take up this cause somehow, after my wife is HERE. I don't need backlash at this time.
  18. I forget how I got all of it done. I had a great deal of trouble with CGI Stanley. I know I called them about 3-4 times and the only thing they ever told me was what UID number was. It seems I had to keep filling out all the pages with all the info. I can't remember what finally worked. Good luck. I tried to log all of this but had terrible trouble going to CFL or CFV when in China to report it all.
  19. When your salary is low, I don't think others frown upon moving up. It is the same going from a community college to a university, how can anyone blame you or look down on this? Just stay at the better job for awhile. And maybe you have to stay at the college a few years anyway. Heck you may wind up teaching at both at the same time, and tutor or do at a private school for young kids. Many options.
  20. No, you will not be able to go inside with her. I was there with mine but had to wait outside, like all the others. My junk so far: http://candleforlove.com/forums/topic/47406-preliminarily-approved-ccp-citic-cgi-stanley-uid-number-birth-cert/ I will be very surprised if they don't ask for both 2014 Tax returns for you and your co-sponsor. Just my opinion and I am sure the experts will pipe in here soon to tell you. Do they require it only after April 15? That is maybe the question and I don't know. I would do it if you have time and means to do so. They will ask for further documentation after the interview, like with me, if they want it.
  21. It's okay to be specific as the evidence is in. The bureaucracy and political corruption runs so deep in American immigration, one would be better off using the Vegas roulette wheel and putting their life savings on black. Or maybe red. But, at least with American immigration you can get your money back if you choose the wrong color, right? Please lets not turn this into a political discussion. (CLF posting rules) Indeed CLF has always been sensitive about keeping politics out of the forums. Well, excluding the old days when they had a forum to discuss politics and it got ugly. That's why I carefully worded the content of my post to show the reality of what folks are facing in today's world of immigration. It's a world where very little is sure. Currently, China holds one of the highest visa rejection rates in the world. That is especially true for K1. That's not politics, it's a documented fact. Fingers crossed for C4Racer that the paperwork moves through quickly so that he and his wife can at least put that part of the process behind them. Wishing good luck! At least this is all in China, and not a K visa. I have big issues with the USCIS folks attitudes on state side regardless of visa type. C4Racer will do OK over there.
  22. It is so good to have a picture of the store, so one can actually find it. A band saw, or fancy saber saw, is better than nothing. I seem to think that I actually found a normal meat slicer like we have in the USA somewhere. They didn't have bacon.
  23. Consider 3 holidays in that time, Christmas, New Years, & Chinese New Year. Other than that, I don't think they care at all, generally speaking.
