  1. So I have a question for people who can remember the time they were scheduling the interview in Guangzhou - I'm looking at the calendar right now and see quite a few open dates for December. However I'm still waiting on getting an I-864 sent over here from a relative in America, and this calendar is a bit worrisome. Basically, it has a lot of days for December open but January and February say "unavailable" and are un-clickable. I"m not sure if this is just because those dates haven't opened yet, if the website is just coded very poorly, or if the office is closed during that time, or all the appointments were taken or what. When you were scheduling, were future months available/ clickable on this interface? Does it appear that January and February are all booked? Here's an attachment for what I am seeing just for reference: http://imageshack.com/a/img924/5120/NKIoxg.jpg
  2. My wife is non-Chinese, we live in China (I am employed here). For various reasons we have to plan out the timetable for our application process as best we can. So I wanted to confirm rough time frames for what I understand to be the various stages: Stage 1 - We filed the I-130 in Beijing and were told it takes "3 months" for them to process it and send to Guangzhou. But I saw a post online from one applicant that had it processed in 10 days. Another person online said 1 month. So is the "3 months" the standard answer and actually it's more like one month? Stage 2- Once GZ receives the case, how long does it usually take for them to issue a case number? Stage 3 - Once we have the GZ case number and can submit the DS260, roughly how long before we're told we can book an interview (assuming no problems of course) Stage 4 - After we are approved to book an interview, how long does it usually take to get the interview? I read someone said 3.5 months - that was a year ago. Any recent experience? Stage 5 - After the interview, how long does it take to get the passport back (I read 2 weeks). Thank you!
  3. My wife just received her CR-1 Immigrant Visa interview letter for the US Consulate Guangzhou, but when I signed on to CGI to schedule her interview, when I finally got to the last step to schedule the interview, it is showing “There are currently no appointments available”. My wife actually already had an interview appointment for July 7th, but I was not allowed time off from work for that time so I emailed the US Consulate Guangzhou and they replied back and said that they would send instructions on how to re-schedule the interview and we just received that letter this morning stating: "Dear Applicant, Petitioner, or Agent of record: This office is ready to begin final processing of the immigrant visa applicant(s) named above in this case. Please follow these steps to schedule and prepare for your visa interview:" And following the instructions the letter provided, I signed on to CGI, (where I had already created an account and selected a delivery address for the Visa), but after getting to the last step where I confirmed our case number, it is showing “There are currently no appointments available”. Because of the available times my company will allow me to take time off from work here in the United States AND I will need to apply for a Visa to go back to China again AND I will need to book airline tickets, we were hoping to schedule an interview appointment for the 3rd or 4th week of August. MY QUESTION IS: Will we able to schedule a CR-1 Visa interview appointment 7 or 8 weeks in advanced once dates become available? Would we be able to choose a specific date like August 24th or 25th? I will be going to China for about 2 and a half weeks, but I know we will need time before the interview for the medical exam and time after the interview to wait for the Visa to be delivered, so I was trying to have the interview date so we will have a week before the interview and a week after. Thanks for any information that anyone can provide. Mark Jacksonville, Florida
  4. We just submitted the all-in-one document packet to NVC. Got the automatic email that this address is strictly for document submission. My wife filed I-130 for her son (IR-2, she is USC). The NVC State web site asks for 60 days to review submitted documents. Does any one have any idea how long we can expect before we get an answer? Is 60 days about right? Will it take longer? Has any one experienced shorter time? My wife is curious how long to expect?
  5. Hi All, Our case is the traditional mail processing, we are wondering whether we will receive the interview letter via email from NVC or via mail from Guangzhou after they receive our case? Will our attorney be notified the interview appointment via email though? Thanks
  6. The documents have been completed for 3 weeks, we are still waiting for the interview letter. Anyone here is in the same situation ?
  7. I'm pretty sure this question was already disscussed here, but I couldn't find the answer 1)What shall I do after I returned my P3 to the consulate? 2)Do I receive P4 after I pay visa fee or before? 3)If I already paid visa fee, can I choose the date of interview or I should wait for P4? 4) does appointment confirmation that I got from ustraveldoc but not from consulate allow me to schedule my medical examination appointment? 5) Is it true that I should do my medical examination at least for 2 weeks prior to the interview?
  8. Question: Will the interview package email or mail to me ? I sent my documents through email. Thanks.
  9. Well folks we made it through NVC and with no check list. I just checked the CEAC site and it now shows CASE COMPLETE. So it looks like we'll be headed to GZ soon. Question: Anyone know how the interview day is set up and when?
  10. Hi, here's my case status from ECAC GUZ Case Creation Date: 11-Apr-2014 Status Updated Date: 16-Oct-2014 Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html My case status shows READY since 10/16/2014, however I didn't receive any Email or mail reagarding interview date for my mother-beneficiary yet. It's 11/24/2014 today, I wonder should I just wait or is there anything I need to do for my case? Please help me. Thanks.
  11. "The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified." My wife's daughter is waiting for the interview at GZ for her visa. Anyone know how long we might expect to wait before they give us the interview date? They sent the above on 5/9/2014 Thanks!
  12. Hi I am on cgi website now. First of all, my case status has been updated again yesterday but neither my attorney nor I received the P4 from GUZ IV Unit. However, I am able to log onto the interview scheduling page since yesterday afternoon. Anyone know what's going on? Am I going to get the P4 in EMS instead of email? Now I am facing a prob. I am looking forwards to an interview date next week. Currently the earliest date available is June 22. This morning when I log on to cgi, the page tells me I am reaching the maximal page viewing and I HAVE to finish the interview scheduling during THIS session. So I suppose my account might be temporarily locked for certain amount of time? And do you think on Thursday (today, china time), is it likely new appointment dates would be available? Any advice is much appreciated. Timeline of my case: E1 SENT TO GUZ MARCH GUZ RECEIVED MAY 1ST AP MAY 20TH 2ND AP MAY 21TH 3RD AP MAY 28TH 4TH AP JUN 11TH
  13. Hey, guys! I just transferred from VJ to here cause our case was received by GUZ consulate two days ago. Here s where I am confused about: Our case was expedited at NVC and NVC notified us (per a call) that they can no longer provide info on our case since our case has been sent to the consulate. And on CEAC, our case was received on May 5 and it changed from "in transit" to "ready". But we have not received ANY email from the consulate about an IV date or any instructions (P4?). HOwever, I searched on VJ and found many members have received the famous P4 email on the same day as their case was received by the consulate. SHould I be worried? I called CGI Stanley earlier and got the "robot" standard answer. We are doing EP. Does anyone know whats going on? Or How long do we still have to wait? Thanks for your answers! We really appreciate it!
  14. Hey everyone! First post, but have been lurking for a while. This site has been a fantastic resource for my wife and I, and I'm hoping to get some help with a problem we've run into. Back in January, my wife and I filed a DCF for a CR-1 visa in Beijing. A week and a half ago, we received an email from the Guangzhou embassy informing us that our application for a CR-1 visa had been approved and had been passed on to Guangzhou for the next stage. In the email, it told us to fill out the DS-260, get photos, etc. The email also said the following: " Please follow the instructions to submit the items listed below along with this letter to the Consulate." So far, we haven't received a letter from the embassy. We're wondering if the instructions mean to print the email and submit it, or if we should wait for an actual letter from the embassy and submit that. It should only take 3-5 days for the letter to arrive by EMS (I'm assuming they would use EMS), but it's been about 10 days and still nothing. We've sent an email to the consulate, and haven't heard anything back. Any suggestions? Do we need to wait for a letter, or can we just print out the email?
  15. Just now, I made an appointment for my interview in Guangzhou, but when the confirmation e-mail was received, realized that my surname was printed twice. Signing back onto my account, I see that I am able to change the Chinese characters in my given name and surname, but not the Romanization or English name. Will this effect my appointment or jeopardize my interview? And if so, how can I change my name on the registration page to only include my given name, instead of my surname under both headings? Looking back at the application in both Chinese and English, I realized where the error was in translation. In Chinese, the page should specify 'given name' with 'without surname' ‘名字(无姓)' as to ask for a name in Chinese, we will normally include both our given names and surnames if you asked for a name (名字). Any information anyone here can provide on how to remedy my current registration name repetition would be greatly appreciated.
  16. A few questions relating to K1/K2 1. Does anyone have specific information as to what documents are included in the K1 P3 and when and how they arrive to the beneficiary? Via email, snail mail, both? 2. What documents/forms are included in the P4, and when and how is the P4 information sent? 3. I think the police reports are good for only 30-days from date of issue. Are they requested during P3 or P4? 4. When are the K1/K2 medical testing and information taken (P3 or P4)? Pre-interview? How much does it cost? I have looked around a bit, but am not able to find a list of what documents and forms are requested after the P2 and when they arrive. I've seen a short list on VJ, but it's not specific. Thanks guys....
  17. Hello we have a K1 visa in process and she should be getting the P3 packet soon. What is the new appointment process (see below from consulate)? Perhaps they let you call and make an interview appointment (would be much better)? What is the new document delivery system? New Process for U.S. Visa Applications As part of the U.S. Mission China efforts to streamline the visa application process, the Embassy and all Consulates General that issue visas are implementing a new visa appointment, fee payment and document delivery system starting on March 16, 2013. These services will be provided to visa applicants by our authorized partner, CGI Stanley. Immigrant visa applicants who are qualified for an immigrant visa interview will be contacted directly by the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou with instructions for making an appointment. Please do not try to schedule an immigrant visa interview until you have been contacted by the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou.
  18. USCIS is moving so fast, I am finding it hard to keep up. On 9/28 we received an email notifying us of our visa interview appointment in Guangzhou on 10/28. They are now dispensing appointment letters and P4s electronically. I guess no more waiting for EMS snail mail. Is this something new, or has it been this way for a while? These are the instructions we received via email:
  19. For K1 visa, at P4 stage, it required Evidence of Engagement to Fiance(e) attached to DS-156. In fact, we have't had an engagement ceremony or an engagement ring. Just one day, we talked about K1 visa by emails. Then we decided to apply it. So what shall we provide as the Evidence of Engament to Finace(e)? Can we show the consulate Fiance(e) Letter of Intent saying that we are willing to marry him(her) and related emails? What do you suggest?
