  1. Well happy late bday. Wish I was there.
  2. Wife can't access her Mutual funds most of the time from home the past 2 weeks. She is having a friend pull it all out and back in the bank.
  3. Brings tears to my eyes. This video says so much. The simple word in a sentence they don't understand changes everything. I miss Jim. Now I have to do something for my wife's adjustment, after getting our daughter of 13 where she can mostly study on her own. Kids pick up quick, but still so many words to go. American history has been laborious for us, but so beneficial. It's an easy school system here, but we are moving to a very good one for next year, if all goes well, so for her, haha... Fen though gets lost in conversations Lele and I have, at times. So, now the shift to her. For her the adjustment has been hard, but through learning to drive a car, and the other little hurts that lasted 2-3 days each, she has understood me better and what I must do here in the USA. She has had to go from a well respected coach to a student. Maybe I spent too much time at home, but now I see she wants to go with me everywhere instead of sleep. In her whole life she has never been this idle. So we will now explore jobs and in the long run see if we can't get her certified to teach or coach.
  4. One of the articles I came across somewhere was about how disappointed she was that the Canadian government wasn't going to bat for her - apparently, they don't want to rock anyone's boat. I think this'll just go down with nothing happening. Good for her though.
  5. I did not read all. Just wonder how Canada feels, send runner up?
  6. do you have an opinion about chaoaicai.com for a mutual fund?
  7. I got a friend at the Chinese speaking group at the church we go to to speak at my Moms funeral. He says they are rough over there in Taiwan. He is amaze how we sorta party.
  8. Yes it looks good. That CGI website and the way they keep it up is terrible, at best. I think they are owned by one of Obama's buddies, so it doesn't have to work. I had issues with various things working and not working at times. I had super issues trying to log in, while in China too, as I recall.
  9. IV document submission is covered here - Submitting Additional Documents rjw NOTE - If you have used USTravelDocs for a previous visa application, you may need help registering the new confirmation code. See CGI old confirmation code problem CGI Cover Page for submitting Documents through CITIC Bank For NIV non-immigrant visas (NOT K-visas) http://ustraveldocs.com/cn/20150313%20-%20NIV%20-%20Requested%20Documentation%20Submission_EN.pdf For IV immigrant visas - K-1,2,3,4, IR-1,2,3,4,5, CR-1,2,3,4 Case Number is your GZO or GUZ number. http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/20140328%20IV%20Documentation%20Submission%20Letter.pdf Register or log in here to get UID Number: http://ustraveldocs.com/cn/index.html?firstTime=No and/or https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=China The "New Application" screen looks like this. You will need to enter your information here, including the Case ID before you can continue. Cover page that must accompany the above originals, and your documents, letters, etc. to CITIC Bank, who forwards to Guangzhou Consulate. Link to submitting additional Info thru CITIC, find your nearest CITIC Bank, & download the above CGI cover sheet: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-iv-documentsubmissioninfo.asp We discovered that not every CITIC Bank, within your city, is available on the CGI Stanley register and select bank location page, where you select your passport/visa pickup CITIC Bank, location. In fact the one for Changzhou is not even the main Changzhou bank. We were directed from our chosen pickup bank to the main bank not far away to ship our additional documents. Also the bank wanted a 2nd copy of the above CGI cover page, one for inside the unsealed envelope and another they affix on the outside of the envelope. So after you fill the cover sheet out make & take an extra copy. Here is full list of banks, you can click on various tabs to get them all: http://bank.ecitic.com/personal/cgjr/chuguo_1_7.shtml This link, to track your status is rather cool: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx I am encouraged that it was updated 11-26-2014, today, as I edit this post. Here is a passport tracker: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-niv-passporttrack.asp I had a lot of trouble with error messages trying to email the attachments for the above CCP overcome. So the day I emailed the CCP overcome stuff, I wrote an inquiry to Guangzhou Consulate asking if they got the 2 attached PDF files: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/immigrant-visa-unit-question.html I got an email last night 11-25, saying they got them. Boy Guangzhou works much more smooth than ANYTHING on the USA side, like NVC or USCIS. If I had to do all this over again I would have lived in China and started this immigration stuff. Your Sweetie will come out of this door. Go to the right for other visas & etc. Randy W pics are here: http://candleforlove.com/forums/topic/47488-some-pictures-of-the-new-consulate/ We did not send in another white book of her birth. It was not requested by the interviewer or on any of the 3 papers he handed her. (Those CGI guys are another story I have been on the phone with them 2-3 times and sent them 4 messages about trouble with their website, all of which they don't want to believe. Now they want screen shots, so more work to try to help them and users. To be political, where is Halliburton when you need them, at least they know how to get a job done.) Here is the link to register with CGI Stanley. The first issue is that I have nothing but trouble trying to log in. The "captcha" box with the code to write in to show your a real person seldom appears. It took me 2 hours to log in the other day.http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-loc-bank.asp Tonight is a rock concert here in Changzhou, and we live one block from the huge sports complex it is held in. These folks really do fill the stadiums like shown on TV. In fact I am told it was on TV live. All the horns honking now as they leave. My wife is getting frisky, so I need to go now. :) So after all this you may need to update or do things here: http://ustraveldocs....ml?firstTime=No and/or https://cgifederal.s...h&country=China To check on Additional or Administrative Processing of application: https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/
  10. I like dog....meat. Best meat I ever ate. I like dogs too. Do, they ever eat cats?
  11. Friend of my wife got the visitor visa approval 2 days ago. She said her visa may take 2-4 weeks because of the backlog. We will see.
  12. Felicia, sorry to hear your trouble, but I don't think there is much you, your husband, or the Senator can do. Those Senators and Congressmen love to give away power and this is one of them. They can't get any better answers than your husband. I would talk with your company and see if you can work remotely for awhile, if needed. It is going to be close, but maybe it will clear up in time or by August. Carl is right about the typical time.
  13. So good to see your posts again. We got a steamer last week. The whole kitchen cooking utensils are new now, it seems. Wife has been here a month. Ronnie, I wonder if what you said about Chinese treating each other bad is why I hate to go to Beijing. It really bothers me how cold and stiff the anglos are. None will look me in the eye and want to ignore my existence. Bunch of arrogant lawyers it seems. Even in Changzhou there is this big arrogance from the British and I think they feel even the Chinese are beneath them.
  14. Yes, he was loved and will be missed. I heard he wrote the song from a life experience of a woman leaving him for another man... Blues Baby, the blues....
  15. I bought an Iphone 5 with Sprint and took it to my wife. Just had to get it unlocked when over there, then she got a new sim card. I think they have some policy or you can get unlocked new now.
  16. It has been so long. He got into Scouts with me for awhile, then quit and the next time I heard from him was when I got married the first time. 1976. His name is Sam Bearclaw and I am not sure of the spelling. He was really big into Ham Radio back then as kids though.
  17. When 11-12 or so I had a good friend who had his license and radio all set up. He had cards from a lot of the folks tagged to his wall. Wish I could fin him now.
  18. I tried to make some screen shots and explanations for idiots like me. We just went through AP for CCP and finally got approved. There are a lot of finer points about CITIC and all that junk not just jumping out at a feller. http://candleforlove.com/forums/topic/47406-preliminarily-approved-ccp-citic-cgi-stanley-uid-number-birth-cert/ Even page 2 has some stuff to look at while waiting. Of course some other threads have information for you DCF folks that is different than us state side guys. Just search around. I think the papers they give you for the CCP is a little different, can't remember. Also yes it was no problem for my wife to have her passport and travel before approval.
  19. Perhaps her daughter can get the 10 year visitor visa. Heck, we were surprised at the single young lady friend of Fen's who got one recently and already here.
  20. They were GREAT for a Smoky check when speed limits were 55 and driving at least 80. Dang Nixon.
  21. Well I guess that was NOT ALL folks. In our excitement, my wife didn't begin to notice things until some time later. We need to pay this $160 per visa after getting the Visas and before leaving China. I guess they don't want to collect that part of the money earlier in the process, anticipating a rejection? Hahaha. I certainly have not paid attention to this. SURPRISE It's not the money, just glad she caught it and sent these pics to me. I found signing up for yet another website to take a lot of time, before allowed to pay. http://www.uscis.gov/uscis-elis I have a load of screen shots, but not sure it needs posting. Just follow the instructions through all the junk you need to do to even set up an account to pay. All the info you will need to fill in the screens to pay will be found on this paper given with the passport and new visa.
