  1. Good to know. Randy has posted some stuff that makes me feel better too. I may wind up there some year. My wife is from down there, and we are leaving the door open. What I want is some smoked, sliced bacon. I got some bacon up in Changzhou, but they had no machine to thin slice it. The lady did the best she could, but then it had no flavor.
  2. OK, but how can I also buy a copy of the magazine from the first issue? I hope my wife will be here soon. In fact I thought I subscribed long ago. Anyway, would like copies here when she arrives.
  3. The interviewing officer said not one word about the birth certificate. He did not request another white book for it either. It was the girl arranging the documents that verbally said something to my wife. But, since the officer did not request it in writing, we blew it off, thinking the little girl (woman) was overridden. We have white books out the GUZoo. I quizzed my wife again about this last night. We can't seem to communicate about the differences in what this new white book will be and the old one. I told her of the trouble everyone is having now, and that her input will help many. This evening she will get the white book. I hope she can scan it for me to read and compare. Randy & NUWORLD, I think what Y'all are saying about a letter is a good idea to go along with this submission. I will barrow some of your words and send to her to include in the CTIC Bank package. PS: I should add that my last 2 inquiries to GUZ have been ignored.
  4. The questions about CCP is a standard form they give you. Just do what it says. Randy W had some interesting comments about it though. I made up one of those posts dnoblett has in the links there, where I try to show all those forms and junk they gave my wife and other forms you need to use to submit what they want. http://candleforlove.com/forums/topic/47406-preliminarily-approved-ccp-citic-cgi-stanley-uid-number-birth-cert/ Some stuff you have to scan and email in. Other stuff may have to send via CITIC bank, all according to what instructions they gave you. Their is a form for CITIC Bank submittal that you need to take 2 filled out copies of to the bank, but of course nothing tells you what a UID number or some of the other numbers are, so I tried to post all of that to try to help. For us, they wanted another set of income tax returns, for 2 of the 3 years they already had. At the interview they took my original employment letter, copy, and originals & copies of a years worth of pay check stubs. I have no idea why they are being so picky on documentation like this these days, but they are. You just have to roll with it. (We allowed our US Govt to get larger and larger, over my life time, to where now it is like traveling in an old movie of WWII Germany with all these papers. A real police state. So, just be a sheep and roll with it now. ) We did everything on the papers and now they want another birth certificate on her. We just have to roll with their punches. Keep it up, your past the hardest part, IMHO.
  5. I best stop posting until I understand what she has. I think it is a red stamped paper from her Hukou, that her brother got. Now it is being translated into a white book, but the translator says she will keep the original paper. hmmmm. (We had previously translated the papers she had for use in China showing her birth. I guess not good enough. They had a photo and a red stamp.) If the USA wants this DNA testing then what are the procedures and who do they trust not to fake it? From something out of your links in post #2 the following looks like they don't trust anything, and therefore nobody knows what to do, hahaha. No real exact procedures it seems to me.
  6. NUWORLD, yes we had those kind of white books. So HECK if I know what the dang consulate wants. That's why I wonder if we should not ask them in GUZ Speaks, or do they answer anymore? Here is my post from: http://candleforlove.com/forums/topic/47406-preliminarily-approved-ccp-citic-cgi-stanley-uid-number-birth-cert/
  7. Well now we have had 2 other white books of documents we had for my wife's birth. It isn't good enough. The consulate has now requested yet another. My wife says she understands, from what the Chinese girl who went through all the documents just before the interview told her. Since the white guy interviewer did not list another birth cert for her on the paperwork they gave us, we just ignored her words. I have listed the email from Guz in my Preliminary Approval thread I will not understand just what it is she had her brother go do, and get it red stamped and all, until I get a scanned copy of her new white book. It does have to do with listing her parents and their birth dates. I have seen a scan of the paper she got, but now it is with the translator. Basically it is supposed to be a certified, notarized, translation (white book) of a notarized birth certificate, if that makes sense. Nothing seems clear to me right now of just what GUZ wants. It would be a good question to ask them in Guz Speaks, if you ask me.
  8. In Broken Arrow: Right on Kenosha (71st Street) is a college or university of some sort. They have a huge Christmas light display every year, just ask. Very near those 3 little Chinese restaurants, I think. So, your right next door to Tulsa, (and I googled up a lot): University Language Institute (near ORU I think) The University of Tulsa ( I hear their football played on the radio) The University School for Gifted and Talented Children Tulsa Community College Oral Roberts University (ORU) (private, religious & on the West side of Tulsa) Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (Downtown Tulsa, I see it off Hwy 75) Oklahoma State University - Tulsa Career Point College Vatterott College Tulsa Platt College - Tulsa Campus Community Care College Phillips Theological Seminary Tulsa Technology Center-Riverside Campus (Tulsa) Clary Sage College Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology Tulsa Welding School (who knows) Anyway there are more. Tulsa is pretty conservative and people drive pretty slow, so that is good for you I suppose. Everything in Tulsa is kind of small, except maybe ORU campus. Several technical schools because of the aerospace companies in the Tulsa area. For the large ones: You have to get over to Norman, OK to be around The University of Oklahoma. Oklahoma State University is in a small town, Stillwater, OK.
  9. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HOOOOOOO
  10. Doug you would be right about that camera thingame. When the wife got out of college her very first job was an accountant at a large hotel in Beijing. I felt suspicious about this thing too and ask her. Her answer was yes some of the rooms do indeed have hidden cameras in them. That would explain why she never took her clothes off while visiting me in my room. You never know who is watching. She said that they used the excuse that they were looking for drug dealers. The more I think about it, the other side hotel, did not have the 2 way mirror covering the whole wall. Hotel 168 does. So stay on the slightly higher rate hotel side. Like Tsapper my wife and I didn't care. Tsap, did Mick shake your hand when Yall met?
  11. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  12. Broken Arrow, OK? I just came back from there last week. I visited FlightSafety which is next to the 3 water towers on top of the big hill at Kenosha (71st) and I forget the cross street. L-3 is there also, but I messed that up real good last year. I stayed in the Holiday Inn off the 51 highway. Well, I cleaned the toilets or floors every time I am out of work and looking for something better. I am not sure how you can teach in the USA, but I have seen where your education in China is accepted in the USA. So, don't discount yourself. Must be a way to get a teaching certificate without going back to school. I was in the mood for Chinese. There were 3 little Asian food places near, on 71st. They all closed at 9, so I had to go back to Tulsa to eat at another little one open until 10. So, many Asian restaurants have no Mu Su Pork or Mu Shu anything but that is OK.
  13. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HhOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Shed some tears while your at it.
  14. I don't know about Nanchang, but in Nanjing the same people who registered and married us, also did the official white book translation of any and all documents we wanted them to. They sent them out express mail to me in the states as well. Really a good set up. You might call ahead and check. Oh they also took some good pics which helped for the interview. Later in Changzhou my wife found people who would do the white book, as we needed more.
  15. Out of Pub 17 this year. I didn't know you can claim your spouse on a separate return.
  16. yes, the law in China is that for births after approximately 1991, the (new format) certified birth certificate is issued. Prior to that time, our wives were ALL (with maybe the existence of an exception or two or three who would be UNDER that age of 24), no birth certificates were issued at the time of birth. Her Chinese ID and hukou shows that her birth WAS registered in accordance with the laws in effect at the time of her birth. By Chinese law, it is the white book that is issued to VERIFY that information for use overseas. I suppose it may be possible for her and her parents to get the DNA testing or whatever is required for the new format - if so, that should take care of the issue for her. But it seems like the consulate is WAY over-reaching their authority on this one. Birth certificates are issued according to Chinese law, not consulary demands. The requirements for the new-style certificates won't be easy for many to meet - in cases where one or more parents have passed on, or otherwise refuse to participate - as we've already seen. How was she notified that the second submission was inadequate? Also, if I remember correctly, your wife had some issues with where she was actually born. When was her birth first registered in a hukou, and when was her first Chinese ID issued? You can see the email they sent in my Preliminary Approval thread. That just says to send in a "notarized birth certificate" - it's not clear that you'd want to do anything more than that. I am not sure, the Chinese girl told my wife something at the interview. So what do you mean, a Chinese notarized Chinese birth cert by a Chinese notary from some Chinese agency? Then get a notarized certified translation copy white book? I should send them my white toilet. Whatever my wife is doing, or having her brother do, it is beginning to take an emotional toll on her. She was hoping he would finish today, but after spending the whole day, he must go back tomorrow.

  18. She says it has to do with showing that her parents are really her parents, according to white book maker. She has her brother tracking down something from her home town. A shame, she just got back from there from Chinese New Year. Anyway, when she gets this I will let you know and also if it is accepted later.
  19. Just a side note. I don't know your wife's age, but... It looks like Guangzhou Consulate is looking at a certified birth certificate a bit harder. My wife's daughter has this certified kind of birth cert, but of my wife's age no one in China has this. We will be making our 3rd white book, supposedly starting tomorrow when my wife wakes up and starts. The other 2 white books, certified translations, were not good enough. The Chinese girl at the consulate told my wife to go back to the translator and tell them and they will know what to do. But the white man that did the actual interview did not request this in writing so we ignored the little Chinese girl. (bad call in hindsight) I have no idea exactly what this new type of certified translation of a certified birth certificate will look like, but when I do I will post. I don't recall this much headache over a birth certificate in China before. FYI.
  20. 3 days in a row there has been an update to our cases. Now 2-26-2015. Also got this email today. I'm already tingling and my heart and toes feel better, but before I let myself get too excited, is this it? If the 3rd version of sending in her birth certificate is OK this time, then the visa will be issued, or is this just a paper check and the dang thing was never sent to D.C. for the CCP waiver/overcome thing? (That would be another 4-6 months.) Click on to enlarge:
  21. Also I loaded my wife with copies of my pay check stubs, and they took them, as well as the originals for keeps. No big deal, but surprised me. They took everything I provided for her on financial support. I had the letter Dan mentioned. It should be on your companies stationary and state the name and ADDRESS and phone number of your employer.
  22. Agree, but it doesn't take 13 million of them. I know you know. Young people used to have to go do all kinds of unpleasant jobs. I did. But it goes beyond paying more in the grocery store. Around here, it is next to impossible to find a non-Mexican gardener. And granted you can do your own gardening but when you are working 50 to 60 hours a week, it is nice to not have to do it in your limited spare time. And if a legal immigrant is trying to run his own business why shouldn't I be able to support that? Generally, you just don't ask. And generally you deal with one guy who has a couple guys helping him. Is it enough to ask the lead guy if he is legal? What is my obligation to ask his helpers? And they may end up doing the work when I am at work. How far do I need to check before I let someone on my property? Like I said it is not that simple. In my mind, your making this too complicated. Before you hand someone money, you must ensure they are legal to be paid in America. All the rest of their workers legal status is not your concern. And, your asking this as a 1 person to 1 person interaction, and I do not believe that is the situation providing the greatest percentage of employment. Restaurants, massage, farm, .. these registered businesses provide many more opportunities for illegal workers, and do it on purpose for the benefit of the company. An easy solution to both the small and large business is to make the laws severe, as suggested, but provide immunity from prosecution if you pay direct through bank payment. You see, then the banks can track who is getting paid, and opening an account to receive payment can be controlled to citizens only. The name, and account to be paid would have to match (as is true today), so all you have to do as a conscientious citizen is know who your paying, and what their pay account is. Certainly there are ways around this "Oh, I am Joe, but my bank account is under "Prez Obama", but willfully paying the wrong person removes your immunity. You can still pay cash, but it removes your immunity. It is the law, and just like speeding, you may not always get caught, but you are breaking the law. It is like anything, if there is a void, someone will start up a business. Sure the prices might be higher, and or maybe the quality won't be as good, and I suspect the illegals gardening have undercut other profitable businesses. Make them legal and it is all OK by me. Competition is good, but illegals is kind of going in the direction of slave labor, in a way. If we work within the law, legal folks will compete, but yes maybe at a higher price for us the consumer. I loved laying asphalt, but now, it is mostly Mexican or Gypsies. I don't speak Spanish and I won't be dishonest like the others.
  23. On a side note, I simply cut and paste her name in Chinese characters from an email in which I had her write it to me. It pasted right on the form. If a USA address you don't need to do that, because no foreign address. My ex just filed an I-130 to immigrate her adopted nice living with her in the USA. I believe we did her name but not the address in Chinese.
  24. Hey Doug, congrats on the preliminary approval. What is the status of your case today? I see in this thread the issue with CCP. Wishing you all well. WOW, thanks for asking. Here it is 1:35 in the morning, barely 24th of Feb. and I just checked and it has a stats update as of Feb 24. THANKS FOR THE GOOD LUCK YOU GAVE ME. Other than just right now, we have been waiting. I understand the torture you are enduring and how it feels to ask your torturer to please stop torturing you, when indeed they need to have their nose broken. The "status update" for which you speak, I assume it's on the NVC ceac website, or another place? What is the new status? Look at the last picture in the original post #1. I edited that yesterday, for any new comers to this part of the process. It is still Administrative Processing. Bot today it is updated again along with her daughters, so today they probably just linked them back together.
