  1. My wife has explained to me that she would like to maintain her Chinese Citizenship as well as obtaining her US Citizenship. Her reasoning is that for the past 6 years she has been putting money into a insurance, as she calls it. My take is it is similar to a 401K and she can draw this money at age 50. There is also another insurance that while you work your employer pays and if you loose your job you must pay to maintain it, again my take is similar to our Social Security. Can she do this? Keep paying on these insurances as a Permanent Res or after obtaining her Green Card and then at her age 50 obtain payment of these benefits? Or is this something she might loose? I think the 401K style plan she can stop paying and get a reduced benefit but don't know if she can take the benefit now and bring with her and put into a high yield CD here. Anyone know about this? mike
  2. DHS, CSC, NSC, RFE, VJ, GUZ, IMBRA, N/A>>>>>>>>> Geez you guys are good, you could write a whole letter in abbreviations! Being a retired Law Enforcement Officer and filling out my share of forms, ending up in COURT, do not write NONE, N/A, or anything unless something applies to you. It can be construde as something! 3. I would really like to take my hat off for those beneficiaries that have already, are going to be soon, and in the future interviewing for a visa. We as the sponsor sit here and yes get stressed because we want to know the date of the interview, when the p3 or p4 will arrive. But can you imagine the stress of having to go talk to someone you do not even know, in a language that is your second, at best, and talk about things you really have only been told or shown!!!!!!! These folks, including my beloved, really must go through something we will never really experience. Sure both will benefit from the utimate positive outcome. But again I say thanks, to my wife and to the other beneficiaries out there, for having the strong desire to be with someone and care for them enough to go through this. I did not know in the beginning that my wife was paying for English classes so she could speak with me. We emailed and again, for a while, I did not know she was using a translation company. Absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!! Mike
  4. I sent mine a drawing of the house to show in case she is asked. Also told her not to guess at anything if she doesn't know say so. Also if she slightly rem, embers me telling her something again don't guess, say my husabnd has told but I forget.
  5. I was sent a short but concise list of questions from my attorney and can be found on a Government web site somewhere. I have made a list of the contents of envelopes or folders my wife will take with her. I told her to set the folders on the counter, ledge, or whatever where they can be seen. My attorney says the more documents the more prepared you appear and generates actually less questions, from his experience. Hand the list of the various folders to the VO as supporting documents with the passport. So they might look and see what is available to them. I hope this works!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Don't know the answer but it seems the sooner the better. Getting out now would seem to improve the chance I would think. Good luck!!!!!

  12. Today is a wonderful day in my life. I think I will go fishing and relax a bit. Everything happened this date towards the final step in this long process. Of course it seems shorter for me as for some of you but in my mind it has been very long. My wife recieved interview date, packet 4 is mailed , and my supporting documents of relationship are delivered to her door. She will be very prepared. Can anyone give me the name of the hotel in Guangzhou to stay? I want her to be in Guangzhou and not travel the morning of interview. Can I make the reservation for her on line and pay with credit card? Would like to do this ASAP!!!!! Mike

  21. I am happy for you all that received good news today on interview dates!!!! My luck was not as good as yours. My response today was " She should be in the next group scheduled for interviews." How often does that happen? The case is completed and the background is complete. Why the hold up? Everyone at DOS keeps bringing up the daughter and wife together. I keep saying "NO" the daughter is remaining in China with the family, to finish school. Today they said I filed a petition for the daughter but I didn't she was only listed as a child of my wife's. I just don't understand. Will wait though for she is definately worth waiting for. My wife was upset with the USA Government when I told her today there was not an interview date. She asks why it is taking so long. Tells me of others on 001 that returned their petitions after she did getting interview dates. All I could do was agree and not understand either. Best of luck to you all!!!!!!!!!!! I know I will get my chance soon to say," Hey everyone we got an interview date!" That will be a day to remember.
