  1. The A#'s are not the same they are different. Where they got the new A# I don't know. But not from her original visa or the I-551 stamp.
  2. She re-entered with her daughter who was entering as K4 so she went through the visitors line with her daughter. The I-94 they made my wife fill out has her status as a K3 valid for 2 years must leave 7-23-09.
  3. My wife re-entered the USA on 7/24 with an I-551 stamp in her passport. She tried to explain to the IO that she had her GC but he made her fill out an I-94 form and stapled it into her passport. This is not correct because she now has a 2 year time frame because of the I-94. I called USCIS and explained the situation to them and they told me to just remove the I-94 and put with my records it was their mistake. Should I agree with this and not worry or maybe set up infopass and get this corrected in computer? My wife has her actual GC in her possession now and the stamp is no longer valid. Sorry haven't been on lately but haven't had computer access until now because of a move and finally got my internet access hooked up. Mike
  4. GOOD job!!!!! I experienced much of the same with my wife. However I did the teaching. Had to explain some differences in the Chinese way of driving and the USA way. She took the written exam in Chinese and we then practiced. The first actual test was a disaster. Only gone for 5 minutes and the instructor had her come in the back way. She was smiling and waving the pink slip, which is failing on a drivers test, different than the interview results in Guangzhou. I had to explain she failed. The second test she passed!! Well the funny part is she has driven in China since she was 24 but to my surprise she told me she had never taken a test. She knew one of the examiners and got her license<<<<<< LOL!!!!!! The good part is when I added her to my insurance my cost actually went down. I still can't get her to look over her shoulder when she changes lanes!!!
  5. What I did to satisfy this part was obtained a paypal card for my wife attached to my account, another credit card issued a card, and added her as the beneficiary to my bank accounts. Until she is here you won't be able to add her onto the account as joint account. Mike
  6. Well the interview is over very short and simple. Both my wife and step daughter went to the counter together and the interviewing officer asked my wife for the passports and ask where my wife lived. After she responded the IO told her she could go sit in a chair. He ask my step-daughter what my name was, what I did for work, and what her mother did for work. He then stated to my step-daughter she could go to the USA. If you don't remember this was a point of discussion because we asked GUZ to activate the K4 only days before my wife's AOS interview and was told the K4 was still valid and an interview date was set. After passing the interview today I guess it still was valid. We now wait for the visa to be put into the passport and mailed to my wife's families home. She was told it should arrive on Thursday. We hope it does with no hitches.
  7. I would like to thank Mr Yang for his reliable assistance to my Wife and Daughter. They are currently staying at his hotel before the scheduled interview tomorrow. He offered to pick up my Daughters medical package in Guangzhou on, Saturday, so my wife would not have to return to do it before the interview. Thank You very much!!!!! Mike
  8. Even if you report foreign income you can then exclude it by using form 2555-EZ (Foreign Earned Income Exclusion).
  9. Don't know if this helps or not but my wife says she had in her home in China and the correct pinyan is "nuo li guo zhi". It is a fruit juice produced by a USA company. She says she and her sister paid a lot of money to sell the product but never did it. It is the same as an Amway type business. The company name is "Lexxus". You might try to Google the company name. It says the Lexxus company is also known as NHT Global.
  10. We did our AOS interview today and it was no problem!!!! PASSED!!!!! Green Card on the way. Said we should receive in a few days. VERY FAST process. Only 3 months. After the interview we discussed with the immigration officer the daughter situation about being able to still get K4 because of medical issues with the family members she was staying with. Specifically asking about the issuance of the green card and if the K4 would still be valid. He said no problem because she was listed on the original interview notice for my wife's K3 interview as a child for K4. We have mailed to Guangzhou the P3 with a letter. They requested in an email I sent to just send them address for daughter written in Chinese. We faxed it to them and mailed the original. Hopefully this will all happen as we have been told. I will follow up with interview information later and will keep everyone informed on the K4 progress.
  11. On our Bio Appt letter it said if you missed the date you could come on any following Wednesday at the same time noted. Look in the REQUEST FOR RESCHEDULING part of the notice. Mike
  12. That really confuss' me some. I thought it was necessary to file the EAD. My wife does not plan on going to go to work we just wanted the SS#. My error for spending the money BUT>>>>>>> Don't they do the security clearance thing before the interview for the visa? Why does it take so long to do it again? In My past career in Law Enforcement we could take fingerprints and find out someone was using a different name in just a few days. Maybe criminal checks are a bigger priority than Immigration to some people.
  13. It seems as though the AOS process is moving relative fast. I paid the fee for the EAD and mailed it with the AOS paperwork and fee. I have not yet received the EAD and we are scheduled for the AOS interview on March 8. Isn't it kind of crazy to pay the fee and do the paperwork when the document arrives only days before or after the interview? Assumming that we pass the interview. Don't see why we shouldn't! Mike
  14. Are you explaining you do not need the actual physical only the Supplement form and any shots required? Got mine done for $90 w/ shots. Although some Civil Surgeons will not do just the Supplement. Mike
  15. It seems your timeline shows you have already paid fees for the CR1. Make sure her visa is K-3 and not CR1. If your wife is still in China you might want to consider having her check on the interview time for the CR1 so you don't pay the fees again for the AOS. She would also receive GC upon her arrival in the USA if the CR1 is completed in China. I am going through the AOS as K3 but different than you, I had never received nor paid a bill regarding the I-130 so paying the fees for the AOS was needed.
  16. I have registered with USCIS for email notification on case status. My Last updated date keeps changing, the latest was today. Why do I not receive any emails on the update information? The status is the same and the message the same just updated date is changed. How can I find out the information that was updated. We did Biometrics on 1/12/07 Mike
  17. Well today I received NOA's on I-485 and I-765. Everything done and accomplished to this point with no Attorney at a cost of $1500.00. Thanks to all that gave me pointers. Makes me look good to Laopo too . She is happy and pleased! Mike
  18. I am not rich by any means. And yesterday my checks sent with the AOS paperwork cleared the bank!!!! We aim to Please!............ A lawyer really isn't needed to do the paperwork unless you're filthy rich and don't want to be bothered with it. I find that attitude so vain!..but hey!,,,I'm not filthy rich either!... -good luck with the AOS.
  19. I filed the AOS and EAD paperwork at the request Laopo with an attorney. The papers I filled out had already been done when we submitted our I-130 last year. So following the guide of those and adding a little new information, because she is now in the USA, it was much easier than my brain would let me think at the beginning. Disappointing it was that the attorney wanted $1500 to do it when he already had basically done it and had everything he needed. Thanks to all for giving me some ideas and help when I got stuck on some questions. We are waiting for the checks to clear and NOA now. This is a great helpful group and I am glad I joined!! I hope all have a wonderful Holiday season. Laopo doesn't understand much of the concept of it and is very disappointed that we in the USA do not get a 2 week holiday from work at our major Holiday time, . But the twinkling tree and other decorations puts a smile on her face. Saturday night we will do some driving around and let her experience the various housing areas where all homes are lit up!!!!! Thanks again and to all a Happy Holidays Mike and Xiaolan
  20. Thanks figured it out that I already was registered and now just waiting for the receipt notice. I was registered for I-130 I filed in 2005 but never received any information on except it was approved. My AOS package was tracked on USPS and delivered to Chicago so I-797 should be soon I hope. Mike
  21. Congratulations on the receipt of the GC. I hope I can at least figure somethig out and have no doubt we will also receive ours. Don't know if I can set up an account or not without some kind of number but will try it. Mike
  22. Recently I mailed documents to Chicago for the AOS and would like to know where and how I can get email notification on approvals, RFE's, and or track the progress of the AOS process. Can anyone help me with that? I read some have this going on and would also like to be able to. Yes sure if I spent enough time looking would find it but if someone can answer me it would obviously happen quicker. Hope all have a good Holiday Season Thanks Mike
  23. On the first page of the I-485 a question is asked,,,,,,,,Current USCIS status. My wife is here in the USA on a K3 visa so what do I put on the form? Is she a visitor, K3 nonimmigrant, just K3, nonimmigrant spouse, or what? Also on page 2 they ask In what status did you last enter? Same question is she a a visitor, K3 nonimmigrant, just K3, nonimmigrant spouse or what?
  24. She entered as K3 they took all the information and fingerprinted her on entry etc. I know we need to do AOS but it confuses me. Reading so many posts even causes more.
  25. Does this welcome letter come after entry or after AOS? We have not received the welcome letter either and it has been a month now. Who can I call about this? Is the GC automatic upon entry or do we have to file AOS first? I am really confused about this part. The paperwork seems easy enough for AOS and most we have already filled out. Anyone willing to help by phone? Send me PM if so Mike
