I have never laughed so hard reading this post in my life. My wife uses the word constantly and I have told her not to say that word in the USA but it is used with such frequency that she has no understanding of me telling her. I have asked her the meaning of the word and she would just shrug it off and say "what word?" I would repeat it with my natural southern accent and she would have no clue what I was saying,,,,,,,,LOL!!!!!! This will be absolutely amazing. I just hope I can talk my way out of it at the right time when she uses the word at the wrong time.

You might also check the local Chinese restaurants or markets in your area or go visit Jacksonville and find something.

My wife telephoned the other GUZ hospital and paid an extra 100RMB, 900 total, and recieved same day service with no problem. 1 month in advance of her interview date. I don't know if it is because she telephoned in advance or why. But it is possible to get the expedited service.

This was only 3 days ago that my wife met with Mr. Yang. I praise his help he provided and the way he made my wife feel comfortable. As I said my wife has already arrainged to stay at the hotel at the time of her interview. There has been no deception on the part of anyone! She has been quoted a price that is on the money with what is quoted on this board. She has not been charged anything extra for help during her medical exam nor do I believe there will be any additional charge for any assistance provided for the interview. I will say however that if it made my wife feel more comfortable for her interview and there was an additional charge it would be worth it and I would not be threatening anyone to damage their reputation or business. I do know the word "free" is used many times in the response from the hotel through out this thread.

Yesterday, July 24, my wife traveled to GUZ and had her medical exam. At my request she made appointment with Mr. Yang to look over her papers she will have for medical and interview. I was just told by my wife that Mr. Yang did meet with her looked over the papers she brought with her and praised them. This was at no extra charge. She has reserved a room for the night before her interview. Mr Yang, I wish to extend to you a big THANK YOU for your assistance with my wife and making her feel comfortable.

I just talked with my wife and although there is indication of heart problem she received a pass result on medical exam. She was still unable to translate to me the problem but is going to her local hospital tomorrow morning to have exam to determine the problem. So this problem did not impact the medical exam result of passing. Does the VO have the descretion to no issue visa due to medical finding even though it pass result?

I am sitting here on pins and needles this morning. My wife went to have her medical exam. She recently has been telling me that her heart is uncomfortable and beat quickly keeping her from sleeping well at night. When she did her exam the Dr informed her she does have a problem with her heart but that it is beating to slowly, not quickly. My wife was unable to translate to me the exact problem indicated by the exam Dr, last night when I talked to her, but the Dr said that this probably would not keep her from passing the medical exam. My wife paid for the quick pick up of medical exam results so she would not have to stay or return to GUZ. I am waiting to find out if the result of her exam was passing. Of course she will make an appointment to determine exactly what the problem is. Does anyone have knowledge of how much or to what extent the exam results play in the obtaining of visa? Thanks

Does anyone have a list of the paperwork that the hospital will need to seal into envelope at the medical exam? My wife does not want to carry 10 pounds of paperwork with her. In her humor she says if she must carry all the papers to exam she will not pass because she will be to tired. LOL, I could not help but laugh with her on that one! Mike

Yes, I too am having some difficulty on this issue. Although mine is somewhat different. My Lao po says that Doctors in China have problem with signing on the yellow vaccine booklet and she should get the shots here in the USA. I am trying to give her the idea that cost might suggest better idea to get the shots in China. Does anyone have a real figure on cost for the vaccines US verses China that might help in expaining this?

This wonderful information clears my mind as to WHY my wife has been painstakingly handwriting all her forms over after I have sent to her filled forms from the attorney. I wonder now why did I even use an attorney? My wife has said she read on 001 that handwritten forms were the best. I told her "No, use the forms the attorney made for you". I find that I indeed have a smart woman in my life. She has all the forms completed now and even discovered mistakes that I did not, even a very small issue such as my son's address missing the "Ave." after the street name making it inconsistant with my ex-wife's address. All I could say was "GREAT JOB" to her. Congratulations on your success and praise your SO on a job well done!!!!!

I work for UPS and ship only DHL to China if I need it there quick other than that it is USPS for letters, packages, etc. My last shipment of documents was by DHL and it was delivered within 15 minutes of being late for the 3 days delivery promise. The address had been translated incorrectly by Chinese employees but they telephoned my wife after the first attempt at delivery and got directions to her house and made the delivery, "ON TIME". I have set up my own account with DHL which I suggest to everyone the savings is tremendous. A 7 pound package of documents cost me only $86 where if I took it and paid a DHL location it would have been about $120. Don't know if I can get any more information on tracking through UPS than you get on UPS.com Gary but I would sure try for you if you send me PM with tracking number. I can do it tomorrow at work.

Ok we now have the information after some translation. She watch the news and read paper everyday and she just tells me about the trouble. Seems like everything is OK from the south into Guangzhou. I hope all is well with everyone going to GUZ for interviews and exams.

My wife says they are getting a lot of rain but I can't find any information about a typhoon being tracked on any of the weather sites. I lived in Florida for 30 years and know they can develop anytime anywhere. I will ask my wife soon when we talk tonight to see if she has heard anything.

My wife also went to school in a small town and we had trouble with the name but she traveled to the town and got the telephone numbers. They did not have telephone # for the schools when she went to school. We just listed as the "name of town" school and then "name of town" high school. Just a thought for you.

I did get a Lawyer and he asked for middle school, high school and any post high school institutions. They all are listed on question 17. Mike

Tell her you need for to get new utilities in your name. If you still have the same last name and live in the same city just go ask for a copy of it. Don't say you are divorced. LOL, I have asked for mine just in case too. 1 I can't locate, 1 other cooperated, and the 3rd is procrastinating. I wrote my own statement including SS#'s,notarized, of all and included what I could obtain. GUZ should be able to get all they need from the SS#'s, because I need to send this stuff right away interview is 8/23. Mike
