I've done this before, I don't understand. Some of the Chinese charaters are correct. In other places,on the same page it is the jibberish. I've checked all of the asian lanuages in the language settings on control panel. I know this has come up before, I can't seem to find using search

OK, now that the passport delima has passed. A Typhoon has taken out the rails going into GUZ WTF, I'm not asking for much, Just one little break would be nice though. Is it Divine intervention? Is is evil forces? Damn, the US FEDS did enough of a job keeping us separated for this excruciatingly painful amount of time. Now all the forces of nature, and evil, are trying their hardest to keep us apart. Now that I think about it, I believe the service in the link Pushbrk left, would have actually profited around $160 for obtaining the passport, then hand carrying it to the Chinese consulate. All things considering a win win situation for both parties. I 'm sure some of that would go to overhead on their side. I would recommend them to anyone. They were very helpful over the phone. They also didn't mind refunding to my credit card. As I had said, I had not actually gone to the acceptance agent yet.

You only mention the passport earlier. Did the agency also obtain the China visa for you? 230181[/snapback] Yes, it would have obtained the visa also, everything. All the fees for everyone was included in the $460 amount, even postages. I had everything ready to take to the court house this morning when the phone rang. Thankfully the Service will refund the money. I believe their end with some postage was around $290. This included the fees for the visa at the Consulate. Then another $30 for the acceptance agent, and $127 for the Dept of State. Then another $20 or so for the postage of the package to get to DC. As I said,,I got out with only 2 weeks worth of stress payed. The passport was being returned from the Travel agency I use to acquire my visa's. I had already paid for the visa. It got to the distribution center , then never made it to my post office.

After being missing in action for two weeks, downloading the many forms, and paying a service $460 yesterday. The post office miraculously found it this morning I had said all along that as soon as I took action to obtain a new passport, this one would show up. End result , several more grey hairs, and pretty much no harm, no foul.

You might need to define more clearly what you are referring to an INTERNET site at this point. It seems to be causing some confusion. Point being, did we meet are So's through an agency at this time, or maybe did you meet on AOL chat room, or Yahoo chat room,,there is a difference between Brokers, dating sites, and just plain old meeting in a chat room. Both will be expensive but quite doable if you can be in DC. Actually you can overnight a passport application to an expediting agency the day before you get to DC, asking them to allow you to pick it up at close of business or deliver to your hotel. Then have an agency hand carry your passport, visa application and fee to the Chinese Embassy the next day. This plan has you arriving at the end of one business day and leaving at the end of the second day. There may even be an agency in DC that will handle both for you. Overnight them what they need tomorrow and have everything back by Tuesday. I had not been able to get the post offices that have passport acceptance agents, to answer the phone. The dept of State even blew me off. I wonder how long this process will take when the Department of Homeland Security is made aware of how many passports are being lost??? And believe me,it is my mission in life to cause as much disturbance in this fouled up system as possible. How can an Agency named "Homeland Security " not be concerned the US Postal Service Loses valid Passports??? Maybe there should be reform in how Passports are sent through the postal service to the different places they need to be sent to??? Appointment for what? 229438[/snapback] From reading the US Passport Agency Site, if an individual is trying to apply for a passport after one has been lost. They have to have an appointment. I played along with the automated system just to see what would happen. The first appointment date that came up was on July 18. I don't understand how I can go to one of the services you people have nicely left links to, and have it done in a few days. I can only conclude, that a business has more precedence than an average citizen. At this US Government facility.

After finally talking to a human today at the US Passport agency, D.C., I was told it was possible, but not probable. I even went as far as to go through the automated get an appointment spill. I recived as the first open appointment, July 18th.

I spent all day trying to contact the different services, no one will answer the phone. Unlees you've tried this personally, don't even try to guess. I spent all morning, I get no one on the phone. I did read all of the stats on the DOJ site. I read all of the the links I was directed to. If you haven't gone through this, you are guessing. I've had about enough guessing on this site I can stand. That doesn't include you Frank.
