  1. When the husband and wife are happy together, life seems to just move along quickly. We dont mind the time because we plan on being very old with each other anyway. The love is deeper as time goes on. Grats to you Dennis
  2. My lovely wife tells me when I come home that she has a letter from the DOHS and when I read it, it says... This is to notify you that your application for permanent residence has been approved. It then states that in 3 years she can get her citizenship, and she will get a green card shortly. /JUMP /BOUNCE B) B) Whats that, around 3 years from marriage in china to her getting 10 year green card.
  3. Hey Edmac, actually I wasnt there when she got lisence, my dad took her to the DMV. I assume she took her passport and her birth notorial, as well as our marriage book to prove were married. I'll ask her later when she is off work. We had our interview last monday, i'm a bit late in reporting. After waiting, I was first to be interviewed, it turns out our FBI check has not yet been finished, and it could take a year or longer as they are backed up. If her work card expires we can re apply. Along with that nugget of info I was asked things like do you like coffie or tea, what did you do last weekend. Simple questions and after my wifes interview we were good to go. So other than FBI check we should have no further obsticles. Our lives are smooth, harmonios and i'm so glad I waited 38 years to get married for my first time =)
  4. Hey Edmac, yes we went to the Gene snyder government center for Biometrics appointment, that was 8-03-06. Moving along quite nicely. To Robert, i'm happy everything worked out well for you in the end.
  5. Thanks Robert, I hope everything works out for you too. Hang in there.
  6. Well, she has her I-485 interview Oct 30. Its hard to believe she came here on a K-3 visa in July and already she has work card, ssn , learners permit for driving , a job, and now the interview we have been waiting for in less than 4 months.
  7. Wife got work card monday, Sept 25, and SSN on Oct2 as well as her learners permit Id card. She has an interview at Target monday OCT 9. Today we added her to my bank account, so were jointly married now. Had a wonderful time with the kentucky chinese society celebration of full moon ceremony. Ate a ton of seafood at a swanky chinese restaurant, we had entertainment, singers, musicians. Well, good luck all, and take care.
  8. Went to the mail box, and what did I find, 1 my tax refund $$$$ 2 my wifes work card!!!. Its been just about exactly 3 months from her arrival to the us and her work auth card. I hope you all are going as smoothly as we are. Its time to celabrate.
  9. Hi, we mailed out aos stuff late last June. Is it possible to try to get some temporary work auth card while waiting for I-765? Just courious. Doing nothing but studying english, cooking me fantastic chinese cusine and being a homebody, just isnt satisfying her. She is very eager to work, she contstantly points out help wanted signs and has this eager light in her eyes. Ok, everything is going just fine between my lovest and I, seems we just need to wait a bit longer for the aos chapter of our lives to get behind us. bless you all.
  10. I got a letter from home land security, seems they lost my tax forms, my w2, and my work letter. So today I mailed it all out. A week late, but it took some time to hook up with my tax man. He is worth the money.
  11. In all the terrorist events that have happened. I cannot think of any event that has had anything to do with a Chinese person doing the terrorist act. Just because your SO went to visit Afganistan, its quite a stretch to think she went to learn about Jihad. Doh, WTF? Is your SO moslem?
  12. Wow, interesting situation there. When I was in the us military black ink was manditory for any forms you had to put in for. Did you look at any instructions to see if there is any language that says one way or the other? I remember to either type or print clearly. Good luck though.
  13. Hey frank, when my wife was in GUZ she had all her papers checked by the man who owns the hotel near the embasy. He said everything looked good, all that she needed was the 3 C's. confidence confidence and confidence. Dont show any personal information if you are seeking any guidance by anyone except by a lawyer.
  14. Well, she is home, her flight was delayed by unexpected maintance to the aircraft. Thats ok though, we had a good reception for her, 2 other couples who know her dad were there to meet her as well as me, and my father. She actually liked my attempt at chinese cooking. It was quite good. Well, brushing my teeth, and um.... lights out. later everyone.
  15. Oh, cleaning is done, been done with that. 10 loads of wash since monday. I just got done making dinner for her arrival. I got a head of bok choy, brocolli, portabella mushroom caps, snow peas, all in a delicious broth, and i fried some tofu. I make some passable chinese sticky rice too. I hope she enjoys, I did a flurry of shopping for some of the things I know she likes, tomorrow after work I can take her out to the markets and she can get whatever else she needs. WHEW, this has been a lot of work, but totally worth it. I go to pick her up at the airport in 1 hour. Good luck everybody, I think everybody deserves this kind of happiness, and it will arrive for you all.
