  1. Hi agape, being somewhat paranoid is normal. I spent countless hours getting all documents prepared and notarized but the VO did not bother to look at any of it. Just asked my wife couple questions and then asked to see the pictures. The interview took only 3-5 minutes. My wife was given the blue slip only because her police certificate from England expired (actual certificate has no expiration date but US give it 1 year. Same for China police certificate). My wife asked the VO is she wanted to see any of my pay slips, bank statements, phone records, or others and she said no. To her what she saw on her computer was sufficient. As long as you meet all the criterias (income, pictures, proof of relationship, and others) don't worry. You can bring the kitchen sink but most likely you will not use it and have to carry it home. Remember this, the VO is just another person, he/she looks at your file on the computer and if there is any "flags" he/she will ask for further evidence. VO has helpers who beforehand has closely check each file and "tag" anything they feel needs examination. The VO during the interview has the discretion of either asking for further evidence or not. Once again, if you have all the i's dotted and t's crossed don't worry too much. It will be fine. Good Luck!
  2. Hi Everyone! My wife got the blue slip on her first interview because her police certificate from England expired (not for any other reason). I received last week her updated one from England. I have communicated with the US Consulate General Immigrant Visa Unit the last couple days by e-mail and they tell me my wife does not need to attend the 2nd interview (January 9th). Instead she can send in the updated police certificate instead. Has anyone here been told by the Immigrant Visa Unit to send in their document to overcome the first blue slip? I don't mind sending it but I am just afraid it might get lost or not reach who it is intended to. Is this process faster? Thanks!
  3. I have been trading e-mails with the Visa Unit and they told me my wife don't need to go to the 2nd interview. Instead send in the update police certificate. Were you aware of this option? we just overcome our blue slip, your so will need to take the papers on the date she was give , forget e-mail and fax , don't chance anything like that , if all they ask for is a new police check , then you should get a pink slip , best of luck , and keep smileing
  4. Yes, it was 19 months old by the time of the interview. It is a long story with this police certificate. Anyway my wife has the new police certificate. It is not a simple piece of paper from UK. I have e-mailed GZ to see if my wife can send in the updated police certificate without coming to just submit it in person. I have not gotten a response back yet.
  5. David, my wife already got the date for her 2nd interview/drop-off materials to provide the new UK police certificate. Don't the VO let you know during the interview whether you passed or not? Base on what you wrote below it sounds like my wife submits the new police certificate to the VO and then go back to the hotel and then go through the process to see the VO again 2 days later just to know if she passes or not. If pass then she can pick up the visa at the post office two day later.
  6. Hi, I need help from members who got a blue slip on the first interview and passed on the second. My wife got her blue slip on her first interview because her England police certificate expired and now she has an updated one. I attended the US Citizen hour and ask about my wife situation and they told me it is only the expired police certificate that caused my wife to not pass. My question is: - After submitting the new police certificate will she receive the pink slip or will she get her visa the same day? I know she will have to pay for all the necessary fees first. - If she gets the pink slip and then pay for all the fees, my wife then can pick up the visa 2 days later at the post office? Is that correct? Also, how close is the post office to the US Embassy? Thanks!
  7. What is going on with the US Consulate in GZ??? I can not believe they CHARGE to speak to someone just to get an appointment. As if that is not BAD enough, the person calling CAN'T get through easily. Talk about putting people through the loop. When I purchased the minutes for my wife, she was hanged up twice within the first three times when she became the next person in the queue to talk to a live person. I can't find anywhere on the website to complain about this. I can get over paying for the call but how many times will my wife get hanged up before talking to someone just to get an appointment. When my wife does get to a live person is she issued an interview date over the phone or they will send her a letter with the date? Thanks
  8. Hi, I just purchased minutes for my wife to call to set her second interview. The problem is my wife keeps getting hanged up when she is the next in line. Does anybody here know of a number to call so my wife can schedule her second interview? The number on the blue slip (from first interview) tells my wife she needs to buy minutes. I don't mind buying minutes but she is not getting through. Thank You.
  9. Hi Everyone! My wife on 10/19 had her CR-1 visa interview and was given the blue slip beause her police report from UK was over 1 years old. We are now working on getting her an updated one. What I want to know is when my wife gets the updated police report and calls the number on the blue slip to schedule an interview, approximately how far out will the 2nd interview be? 1 week, 2 week, 1 month or later? Thanks!
  10. Hi All, my wife just went through the interview today and she got the blue slip, but not for the normal reason. She studied in London and got the police report as required when I started the CR-1 process. Unfortunately it took 1.5 years before she got the interview today. The VO told her she has to get a new police report from London and then they will approve the CR1 visa. My wife can't just go to UK like me (USC). What if the UK embassy deny her a VISA to go to UK? Am I stuck? It is like a catch 22 situation to me. Anyway when she got the police report she left UK afterward to return home. How can she commit any crime if she never step foot into UK after that? What do I do? Anyone that has gone through what I am going through now PLEASE HELP me how to overcome.
  11. Hi donahso, I have sent e-mail to both hotel owner twice this week and have yet to hear a response. The first e-mail was sent Monday, second was sent yesterday. I read so much good things about both of them here but my personal experience so far has been disapointing. If they don't have rooms available then they can just e-mail to let me know. Not one response from both of them.
  12. If I am correct you don't need to notarize the I-864 either. The paper said if you sent it to the NVC then it is not needed. Am I right?
  13. I believe one of the medical facilities in GZ is also does the vacinations, she can ask where she gets her medical exam done and they will make sure she gets to the right place. If she is staying at Mr Yang or Mr Xie's hotels they can help her get to the right place as well. She will probably only need 3-4 immunizations, the list they provide is the kitchen sink approach by the USCIS, many don't apply. My wife is going to Shanghai at the end of this month or beginning of next to get her physical completed to shorten the stay in GZ. I will tell her to ask during her examination. It would be horrible if she had to go to a different place to get the vaccination. Anyone that has just completed their interview can you please shed some light into this situation. Thanks!
  14. naogong, do you know for sure if the unmarried notarial statement is not need for a CR-1 case? If anyone else, has any experience, please advise. Thanks!
  15. Hi All! In the P4 packet regarding the vaccination requirements, it says recent changes now require applicant to get 11 vaccination. It says: "Applicants for immigrant visas at the US Consulate GZ mus obtain an international vaccination record from one of the PRC Quarantine Bureau offices listed below. If you have received some or all of the required vaccinations, you should bring your previous vaccination records to the Quarantine Bureau for verification and transfer to your international vaccination record." There are a total of 5 Quarantine Bureau offices (Guandong, Fujian, Shanghai, Beijing, and Jiangmen) Does this mean my wife needs to go to one of the Q.B. offices to do the vaccantion if necessary or is it completed at the medical examination process? This is a CR-1 case. My wife interview is on Oct. 19 so I am trying to help her out as much as I can. If anyone that has just completed there interview and have knowledge of this PLEASE ADVISE. Thank You!!!
