  1. Use the e-mail. Go to the consulate web-page under Immigrant Visa/Contact Us. You should find it there. They do state that the email can be used for questions regarding the intervew.
  2. For comparison, check a flight to Beijing, with a separate flight from B eijing to Florida. The intra-China flights are much cheaper when purchased in China, and there is much more variety in the flights from Beijing.
  3. Try Immodium AD. Also, before you leave (and while you're there), eat yogurt. It's worked for me everytime I went to Mexico. Never had to try anything in China, though. If that doesn't work, try Immodium IV.

  7. 2 days from now, Fred. Good luck!! We'll be watching - let us know.
  8. That is usually how it' done now. It is mailed to a China Post facility in Guangdong, and she must show identification and sign. Hopefully. someone will provide better details shortly.
  9. At one point (at least 25 years ago), I had heard that Chang was the most common name in the world, with Singh (lion in hindi) not far behind. Side point here - these are Mandarin names, the Cantonese name is different - Wu (Mandarin) is Ng (Cantonese), for example. That is, the same Chinese character is used, which translates to different sounds in the two languages.

  12. Yes please get them in an appproving mood for us (next week).
  13. We were there for only 2 weeks! I hope yours is as quick!
  14. Heading for GUZ!! Congratulations!! I'm sorry it took so long.
  15. Yes - BUT remember also that the Visa Officer has 5 minutes to look these things over and make a snap judgment. It's hard for me to believe that someone would look at these things and conclude that you attempted to fraudulently get married too early, but others have made that claim. I think the problem is basically that whenn someone is given a blue slip, they have much to think over about what might have been the REAL reason.
  16. Another thread with a similar response from DHL around the same time as Ty's
  17. I think these questions are all indicative of the fact that we are all given a month or longer to ponder them!!
  18. Why is an additional sheet necessary?? Figure out which characters are for (Town or City), (State or Province), (Country) and put those in the appropriate fields. Either decode hers, or look them up yourself.
  19. You can withdraw or borrow money from your 401K, but using it as collateral for a loan, or as an asset on a financial support affidavit is a different matter entirely. I've never had to, so maybe it is possible. If he needs to do this, by all means look into it. You could always file the affidavit and wait until (if) they request an additional source of income. But this might be the time to line up an additional sponsor.
  20. I think you're really saying no there, Frank. From a legal point of view, they are NOT readily convertible to cash. That may be where I got my impression. I think bottom line is that if the 401K were used as collateral for a loan, it could not be confiscated if you defaulted.
  21. I had the impression when I filled out mine that no - it is not available for support during the next 5 years so you can't list it, but that may only be my impression. I don't think the directions address that issue directly.
