1. I can't help here, but I'm so sorry to hear this! Best of luck to you.
2. My wife is living here now and still making payments to her Chinese SS account. Maybe you're wife got hit with the 45% payment because she wasn't retirement age yet! 171214 But could she maybe keep it there until retirement age without making payments in the meantime?
3. Have a folder, bag, whatever, full of "kitchen sink" evidence for your SO to take to the interview, but it seems to be best to not offer any evidence that is not asked for directly. Good luck
4. No you don't and yes they will. Just list it as an asset, and include receipts for the monthly payments.
5. Do not request a return receipt. This means that someone has to sign for it. Delivery Confirmation is where the mailman signs that he delivered it.
6. I'm afraid that no one will sign for it, because it's a P.O. Box, and it will be returned. If you send another one NOW, that will get it started, but you have to consider the possibility that the first one MIGHT actually get delivered.
7. Sorry, didn't mean to distract you there - at Guangzhou, someone just "signs" with a rubber stamp - just someone at the delivery dock or something like that. Kinda' doubt they do that at the USCIS, though.
8. I wouldn't think the USCIS office is closed all week... holiday week, so not sure what this means. I would give it another day before getting too drastic. I have no idea what is meant by STAMP either! What does that have to do with USCIS centers? If you have mail delivery confirmation from USPS, that should be good enough. Would think they will be open for business on Wed, but after that, they will likely be closed, but not sure about Friday. I wouldn't send another complete package yet! 171089 With "Return Receipt", you need somone to sign. If it's an un-manned post office box, it may get returned.
9. I didn't find their hours, but it sounds like no one is there to sign for it. How about asking for delivery confirmation? They "confirm delivery", but no one has to be there to receive it.
10. HELP!! Someone! No - but it would be better than waiting for them to return this one
11. The packages to Guangzhou often show as signed by STAMP (stamp and ink pad). Can you send another one NOW? Somebody help bail out the chef here, please?
12. RICHARD!! You didn't!! STAMP doesn't work there! I hope they're just off for the week!
13. It's very difficult to get information that way, but sometimes it does wake up a paper pusher. Keep after them! Good luck - we'll be watching.
14. Thanks, guy. There's another thread on this, but we're going to barbeque our turkey! Happy Thanksgiving!!
15. Yeah - listen to her! Xin is heart! Xinhua is the latest news, but this is a matter of the heart!
16. Here in Houston I think I'll she'll need to do is speak Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)! Seems like there's usually someone within hearing range who would understand it.
17. Randy, you just sugar coat things, it is a real possiblity for a K-3 to take closer to 18 months depending on how long it takes to get through the first service center. 170808 On average, though, isn't it closer to 12 months?
18. Start over. Provided you meet the requirements, the K-1 will be quicker since you can file NOW, instead of waiting until after the wedding. The K-1 processing is also generally around 3 months quicker than K-3.
19. A couple of us had 9 months from NOA1 to visa, so it can be done quicker (I think someone was only 7 months). Check the Timeline information pinned at the top of the General Visa forum, for recent projections.
20. beginning at the end of the current month depending on which month you're in. That is, January dates will be assigned beginning next week, if they follow previous patterns.
