  3. I think you have it down pretty well - the odds are less than 50%, though. I hope it works for you.
  4. http://bergoiata.org/gif/Feu4.gif Thank you so much, Doug!! http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif for getting them ready for us! . . . . and Congratulations at last!!
  5. Give it to your SO - this might be a crucial piece of evidence. If he asks how many times, she can hand it to him at that time.
  6. Yes - I've kept an eye on the table for a long time - only 1 day off on mine. Good luck to you, Hank
  7. Doesn't she live with you?? Just be honest! The INS already knows she's from China.
  8. http://bergoiata.org/gif/Feu4.gif Congratulations !! http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif
  9. No - the notary simply verifies your identity, not the content. It is not binding in any way, although there can be penalties for misstating facts. I can understand that she would prefer a statement from your employer to a notarized statement from you, but I find it distressing that this little door would be opened when she looked at your notarized statement. This follows the minimalist, less is better, unless asked for, philosophy. That being said, the letter from the employer about vacation time is NOT a requirement. To send you scurrying at the last minute, and witholding the visa, even if only for a couple of days, is cruel, especially considering the evidence which WAS presented. But . . . http://bergoiata.org/gif/Feu4.gif Congratulations !! http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif We have 6 interviews Monday and Tuesday. Watch for more.
  10. I assume you will remain an American citizen. If so, then you will keep yous SS, retirement benefits, everything you are entitled to here. I think that they can be mailed to a foreign address without any problem - but you may not want to use a Chinese address, since it most likely will not be printed in Chinese characters. It seems to me that it is most advantageous to keep her Chinese citizenship, along with whatever benefits come with that. The catch is that she will have to maintain her green card with annual visits to the US. However, my SO at one point said that she wanted to become an American citizen, and didn't think there was any disadvantage to that.
  11. Most of us get new ones done, timed to be reasonably current at the interview. You can do this, and send them directly to your SO.
  12. You knew 8 minutes ago!! Other thread for Fred Maybe we can merge the 2 threads??
  13. Gee - I didn't read it that way! Basically, you ARE married (China AND US) any ceremony or other get together is strictly up to you!

  18. Boy, did I ever get myself in trouble! I mentioned your interview to her. Suping's name translated by Babblefish came out "The fine jade is peaceful ", so I had to ask her - Çí°² - ²»Ã÷°× by cutting and pasting. Anyway. Çí°² (Suping) was still in the clipboard when we signed off - I thought I had copied her Goodbye, but " Çí°²" (Suping) popped out! walsranj: Çí°² walsranj: ÔÙ¼û.ΨһµÄ wujiayingg: : Çí°² ?? walsranj: Hit the wrong button walsranj: mistake walsranj: ÔÙ¼û.ΨһµÄ wujiayingg: Çë³öÏÖ - Please appear wujiayingg: Ãû×Ö»á»÷´í - The name can striked wrong wujiayingg: Çë½âÊÍ - Please explain walsranj: Yes walsranj: I entered 'CTRL V' wujiayingg: ÂúÄÔ×Ó¶¼ÊÇËýµÄÃû×Ö? - The full brain all is her name? walsranj: I had copied it to ask you what it means walsranj: No - the clipboard walsranj: ok? wujiayingg: ok walsranj: I thought I had copied your goodbye wujiayingg: Çë¼Çס.²»ÐíÏëÐíËüÅ®ÈË.×öÃζ¼²»Ðíok walsranj: yes walsranj: Only my wife Whew!!

  20. Mathematically speaking, the odds are still 50-50 boy or girl, 1st or second child, so the one-child policy doesn't change anything by itself. Abortions and/or abondonment are what skew the numbers. What is also happening is that the older Chinese men are opting for younger women, leaving the divorced women to fend for themselves (or for us to fend to). As long as they keep generating newer, younger women, there will be some sort of a balance.
  21. Best of luck to you and Suping! Let us know as soon as youi hear!! Have you 2 decided when she will come here?
  22. Jesse's exactly right, but just so you'll know you're not going crazy (yet), 1 to 2 weeks is a much more reasonable time (when they are keeping up with their workload). Good luck, and welcome to Candle
