  1. Hi folks, This one has been worrying me for a while now. as I'm leaving in about a day and a half to get to Yifang to be with her for her interview, it's come to the front of my brain (long trip, sometimes!) As the NVC issued the interview letter, the only thing my wife and I have been able to do with CGI stanley is to put in her info for the UID number, and enter her home address for delivery of documents, once she passes the interview. There's no way we can go any further on the site, as her case number is not recognized by CGI Stanley. So we can't go into the "schedule an interview" part of the website or any other place. - we don't need to anyway...but this brings up a big question. And the only answers I've gotten from the CGI Stanley site has been "The NVC has scheduled your interview" and they conveniently avoid answering the real question. Once Yifang passes the interview, how do we check where her passport, visa, POE package, etc is in the process? According to what I have read, folks seem to track that progress on the CGI Stanley site....some kind of tracker there, which I don't seem to have access to. Is there another way to track where all these things are? Anyone have a clue? Warren
  2. My case is an E3 following-to-join case, received notice from NVC 2 weeks ago saying "The National Visa Center has completed its processing of your case and forwarded your file to the designated American Embassy/Consulate.", just wondering, currently, how long would it take for Guangzhou to receive the the case file and send out the P4 interview packet? In Chinese: 目前从 NVC 发广到广州领事馆收到文件、发出体检面签通知书,大概需要多长时间?我的案子不是电子化处理的,全部是是传统纸质申请文件。
  3. The I-129F NVC is being sent out today to GUZ. I think I'm understanding this a little better.. The nonimmigrant visa K3 is under process and the I-130 will in no shape or form hold up this process as it stays at the NVC. The I129F is valid from 1/15/2010 to 05/14/2010 so I imagine we will be getting the interview before the 14th of May. So i would assume the wheels are in motion for the next step P3.
  4. OK. Some have already known, but here is the evidence. For packages at 4 lbs or under, they are being cleared out of customs at Fridays. And it takes 3 days, including the time zone change, to go from US to China. So if your package is picked up on Tuesday, you are the luckiest, if picked up by Wednesday, un-luckiest http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253276141 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277272 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277283 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277294 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277725 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277736 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277740 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277751 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277773 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277784 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277821 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277832 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277843 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277854 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277865 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277876 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253278613 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253278624 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253278646 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253278661 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253278672 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253279405 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253279416 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253279420 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253279556
  5. I have been tracking packages on DHL site. For the packages going to China, they are few and far in between. That might be that most CR visas are being transferred electronically. However, for K-visas, NVC is still sending the physical files via DHL. And according to my finding, they are few and far in between. That might bode well for the recent K-visa applicants becasue that could mean GUZ might be processing fewer apps and thus might go through apps faster.
  6. Was just reading the post about electronic processing and in the quote from USCIS K1 Fiance Visa is not included in the process, though at the bottom of post is says K Visa's will automatically be Sent to consulate. Does this mean the customs delay of 2-3 months no longer applies?
  7. Hello All, Is DHL the only way NVC ship document to GUZ? Have anyone heard of any changes beside electronic processing? I should have opt for that but I did not. Thanks Joe
  8. Hello all, I have tracked our paperwork through the DHL website. It was working fine now it ask for a zip code which I have but it doe not give an accurate shipping dates. Is there a time period that you can no longer track it? Just wondered if anyone else has found this problem. Thanks, John and SiYi
  9. So we have an NVC out date of 11/6. I also received the GUZ number. How do I track when it this received by the consulate? Many thanks!
  10. Hello All, I am wondering do you guys every experience when entering the tracking info DHL ask for more info such as zip code but then bring out the detail for only the reference. So like a package sent on the 22nd of July would only show info up to Aug 3 or so? Any idea why this would happen? Joe
  11. Hi All, After a long long wait of getting our NOA2 approved, now I find myself checking the DHL status of my petition's delivery to the Guangzhou consulate daily. It actually arrived in Guangzhou on 5/11, and here it is 6/9, and DHL's status still shows "Clearance Delay" (meaning that the consulate has not yet accepted the documents). DHL indicated that the weight had a factor (my petition came in a 53 pound box of other petitions and documents from the US State Dept). It's almost a month now. I've tried to call 3 different phone numbers listed for the consulate, as well as using the web form, but it seems impossible to talk to a live person on the phone, and web form inquiries have gone unanswered. Is there a magic number or code that I need? I was just wondering if others had experienced wait periods this long. How long did it take between NVC sending your petition and the consulate actually receiving and processing the delivery? Thanks! PS: Here's a terrific slideshow on the heroes of Sichuan. http://excaliburworld.com/hero.pps.zip
  12. On May 12, 2003, the NVC sent a 400+ lb. shipment of among others, approved and cleared fiance visa petitions, to GZ via DHL. The shipment arrived at DHL's Guangzhou facility on May 15, 2003. The shipment encountered a customs issue which prevented its delivery to the consulate-general. According to DHL, several attempts to contact GZ to resolve the issue have gone unanswered. It has now been more than 5 weeks, and GZ has failed to resolve this issue. If anyone is affected by this delay, you may consider requesting your legislators to make an inquiry for you. The DHL Air Waybill Number of the subject shipment is 9379975441.
  13. I spent a long while yesterday reading the GUZ Speaks forum, it's great that they are willing to share so much with us! I thought the long delay from NVC to P3 was because of back logging at the consulate, but from what I learned yesterday, it is in fact customs. I decided to start looking at DHL shipments from NVC to GUZ to figure out what the approximate delay from NVC to P3 is these days. I went back from my approximate shipped date (2-29) and the earliest I could track was the beginning of December. I couldn't find records for packages shipped earlier, but everything from December onward (excpet under 5lbs) was still in 'Clearance Delay'. That means the current delay is over 3 months, and that's assuming everything sent earlier than Dec, has been delivered. I don't think that's true based on timelines at VJ... only those who had their petition sent earlier than the first week of November have gotten P3 so far... closer to 4 months! Does this sound right? I'm also wondering why there has only been one P3 since January (based on VJ timelines). There are certainly plenty of NVC shipments from November waiting for P3. Anyone else have information about the delivery habits of customs they can share?
  14. If I am doing the DHL tracking correctly, GZ has not picked up and signed for anything since October 16th. Does anyone have any different information?
  15. I just called NVC to get traking #s, the lady told me they do not give them out. Where do you guys get these #s from? I called DOS the other day, they steered me back to NVC. Thanx ahead for any replies. OH yes, she did give me the consulate phone #. I asked her if it was the # I had to pay rmb for, and that it doesn't work. She replied,I don't know, I have never called it.
  16. I had the wonderful opportunity of seeing how effective My Government works today. I called the State Department and ask for a tracking # for our Visa. I was told it was shipped on 10/21/05 and it will be probably 6 months before we here something. The State Dept. Rep did not know how to obtain a tracking number and told me I would have to wait. We are waiting for our P-3 since it was shipped on Oct. 21st. Any help on who to contact for a Tracking #
  17. I was told my case was send to GUZ at Dec. 6. I checked the DHL, and just found one package at Dec. 6 and none at Dec. 7. So, is it a good guess my case actually was picked up at Dec. 6? Another observation, all cases sent to GUZ on Nov still in their warehouse. When will the consulate pick up them?
  18. I just bought something from Dell that has a packaging weight of 14.99 lbs. However, that is not the package weight that DHL has in their system. Rather the shipper reported a package weight to the DHL pickup driver of 6 lbs. Now, when you do the tracking, you will see that DHL is using the reported weight of 6 lbs. What is the significance of this you may ask? Well, most people on CFL know that if the package containing your case is 5 lbs or more, it will get stuck in a ridiculous 1+ month Customs Clearance at the DHL facility delaying the process even longer. If it is less than 5 lbs, it will be immediately delivered to GUZ. So, the moral of the story here is that NVC can in a sense dictate this delivery process by simply reporting package weights on either side of the 5 lb mark. Makes ya go hmmmmmm...
  19. I don't understand why some packages to Guangzhou say "At Gateway", others say"Arrived at DHL facility", others say "Shipment delivered" and others say "On hand". I understand the general idea of what these shipping tags mean, but they are not necessarily date sequential. It is almost like the embassy is requesting which ones they want delivered to them on a given date. The most recent delivery by shipment date was 10/20/05. But I saw others dated back as far as 09/26/05 that were still listed as "At Gateway". Maybe "At Gateway" means they are being held in customs? Maybe the Chinese government is picking which ones they want to scrutinize or photo copy? Then I also see that the delivery signature is the same for Beijing and Guangzhou "signed by STAMP" I haven't a clue what this means? Maybe it is literal... maybe stamped by security or a receptionist? I hope my wife's not in the slow line... Does anyone have anything other than speculation?
  20. Has anyone ever tried to contact Chinese Cutoms directly to inquire as to reason for delay with a specific package? If so, what is the contact info? packages after mine is already been released....
  21. My wife's case was forwarded to Guangzhou on 7/28/05 (NVC automated message). Today I received an email reply message from GZ Consulate: "We have not received this petition yet. Due to the delay at the custom, it can take up to 120 days to receive a petition." Can it take 4 month for the package to clear the customs? And another 6 month before the interview? This morning I called DOS and the Visa Specialist told me that my wife's case is not in Guangzhou's computer as yet. Shall my wife appear for an interview around May 2006 or even worse? This is totally unbelievable!!! Some immigrant veterans here please give me some advice as to when my wife can have an interview. I am so anxious and have to plan my fourth visit to China soon. I miss my wife and son so much. My son is growing up without his father on his side!
  22. Yes, how do you track your info from nvc to Guz by DHL? can someone tell us the format on how to do it? thanks again Yours, Dan M
  23. I saved the thread a while back on this, but am stuck at trying to pinpoint my exact package. I've concluded that 4 packages have left for GUZ today with the following "Shipment Reference": "I-730", "CORRESPONDANCE", "EXP 06 SEP 2005A", and "EXP 02 SEP 2005B". I'm guessing it's the I-730 as someone indicated before, but this package is only 5 lbs... Hmmm
  24. the NVC said they sent our cr1 docs to GZ on May 17th. I emailed GZ for status and they just replied we have not received the paperwork yet. Why does it take so long? Any one else around this shipping time heard that their packet was received?
  25. This clearance delay with packages going to GUZ has just bothered me. I ship all sorts of packages (including heavy ones) to China via numerous carriers. With proper documents they are delivered to any big city in 3-4 days. If you are going to somewhere small or remote, expect a week or more. The idea that there could be some sort of delay in shipping a package from a US Gov agency in USA : to a US Gov agency in another country seemed fishy. I think DHL is doing a favor for GUZ, by holding the packages until GUZ is ready for them. Maybe DHL is supposed to tag packages GUZ does not want with the "Clearance Delay", but they are not perfect so some get the " On Hand at Destination Facility, etc." tag. Your not sure ? Look at this tracking number 7860730220. DHL track by number Why would GUZ refuse a package delivery? We are just pawns in this process. No one in our government cares about us or will give us just a minute of their attention. There are more than 12 days worth of shipments from NVC to GUZ being held at DHL. I hope us taxpayers are not incurring extra fees for storage. We already paid top dollar for the 3 day air shipment - now they sit and wait for weeks
