1. My wife is coming next week with K-3 visa, so I went to USCIS today. The official told me the congress changed the rule of medical exam. They no longer accept the medical exam which been done in other country. They only take it from local civil surgeon. Does anybody else hear same thing? I don't want to waste any money because my wife did her exam last month.
2. I'm not sure what you mean by residency requirement. If you mean how long you can leave the US for I believe you can't leave for more than 6 months wiithout the petition being considered abandoned. Others will correct me if I'm wrong. A K-3 is a multiple entry visa unlike the K-1 224322 Yes, I mean how long can K-3 visa holder can leave US without the petition still being considered valid. 224323 this is from the USCIS website. Can I Travel Outside the United States? If you are in K-3 or K-4 status, you may travel using your unexpired K-3/K-4 nonimmigrant visa to travel outside of the United States and return, even if you are applying for adjustment of status simultaneously. 224324 Thanks for the info. but it didn't say how long you can travel outside US.

4. Does anyone know there is residency requirement for K-3 such as stay in US for more than 6 months in a year? Thanks.
5. How did your wife find out? I really like to know because I was told my case sent to GUZ at Dec. 6. I guess I like them sent at Dec. 9.
6. I think it depends whether you guys want get marry in China at first place. For the sake of the processing timeline, if you aren't live in Vermont Center area, K-3 may actually 2 months faster at USCIS now.
7. Congrat. Looks like my wife has to wait at least one month before she get hers.
8. yes, that is a good guess. If your case is a K1 or K3 and under 5 pounds, the package should be delivered in about 11days after DHL picked up. 174396 Unfortunately, it is 10lb.
9. The sender is DOS not NVC, but same address and zip code. What's happen at NVC?
10. I was told my case was send to GUZ at Dec. 6. I checked the DHL, and just found one package at Dec. 6 and none at Dec. 7. So, is it a good guess my case actually was picked up at Dec. 6? Another observation, all cases sent to GUZ on Nov still in their warehouse. When will the consulate pick up them?
11. K-3 also go through NVC for namecheck, and I think they will do another namecheck at GUZ.
12. It's a great news indeed. This is the situation I was luck to avoid. Good luck the rest of process for both of us.
13. Yuanyang, did you get the your name from Mandrin Duck. (鸳鸯)
14. K-3 is actually faster than K-1 now except Vermont center which I don't have the luxury to apply. CSC is really slow down, my CR1 still has looooong way to go, maybe I just leave it alone. 174054 Well what kind of legal advice should I have expected for the near $3K I paid the lawyer? It's a should've, could've, would've thing now as we just sent in the P3. 174055 Wow, that's a lot money we're talking about. You should keep it yourself and DIY.
