My wife is coming next week with K-3 visa, so I went to USCIS today. The official told me the congress changed the rule of medical exam. They no longer accept the medical exam which been done in other country. They only take it from local civil surgeon. Does anybody else hear same thing? I don't want to waste any money because my wife did her exam last month.

I'm not sure what you mean by residency requirement. If you mean how long you can leave the US for I believe you can't leave for more than 6 months wiithout the petition being considered abandoned. I think it depends whether you guys want get marry in China at first place. For the sake of the processing timeline, if you aren't live in Vermont Center area, K-3 may actually 2 months faster at USCIS now.

The sender is DOS not NVC, but same address and zip code. What's happen at NVC?

I was told my case was send to GUZ at Dec. 6. I checked the DHL, and just found one package at Dec. 6 and none at Dec. 7. So, is it a good guess my case actually was picked up at Dec. 6? Another observation, all cases sent to GUZ on Nov still in their warehouse. When will the consulate pick up them?

K-3 also go through NVC for namecheck, and I think they will do another namecheck at GUZ.

Just found out NVC approved my K-3 case. It only took a week to do it. So, I don't need to worry about NVC hell like some unfortunately member experienced but to worry about the DHL and infamous custom delay.

You can tell what day they issued the GUZ# by the number itself. first 4 numbers are the year. the next 3 numbers are the "julian" date (1-365) with 500 added. the last numbers are the number for that day that yours was issued. That is the number your case will be identified at at NVC and Guangzhou City Consulate. There is NO WAY I know of to check it online. The only thing they will tell you is if it is sent to GUZ or if it is under "administrative review" (namecheck). No use trying to get anymore information than that. Operator doesn't know anything else and nobody will release any information anyway..........so they know nothing until it comes back from DC. Hope this helps. Otherwise there will be close to 100 cases to GUZ alone in one day. Unthinkable.

I called NVC yesterday and get my GUZ #, but I forgot to ask them when did they receive. BTW, what's the use of GUZ #? Is there a way to check the status online or I have to talk the operator to find out.

Fianlly, after 49 days of hoped, worried and waitted. My case was approved at Nov. 18 and received a e-mail notice today. A big relieve!!!!

Surfing the 001, I oberserved a lot people got their P4 date from July to Oct. One got for only 23 days. Keeping this trend up, GUZ.
