1. During the 1st two weeks of their visit, if mom or dad happen to slip or fall and hurt themselves at the apt. complex, they could always sue the apts. and probably have enough $ left over (after pain and suffering) to own the complex. You''l have free rent, the apt complex will be asking your parents to lower thier rent and everyone lives happily after. ahhh only in America, isn't it wonderful?
2. Congratulations. Happy for you.
3. No issues there. 1st time I took my wife out of the US, we went to Canada. Amy had been in the US only 1 month. We got a hard time getting in. Only because the Canadian border gaurds didn't know what a CR-1 visa was. They told us to go back to the consulate in Buffalo and get the appropriate paperwork. Thier "boss" finally showed up a few minutes later and told us to have a nice stay in Canada. On our way back into the US from Canada we flashed the CR-1 to the border gaurd, he smiled and let us right on through.
4. How long did it take you to get the visitors visa for your parents?
5. Yes. Unless your employment changed, you would simply put in last year's income. Otherwise, either an estimate or a statement of your current annual salary would be appropriate. 229247 Ah, ok gotcha. Hope this'll be the last time I pester you guys for a while about paperwork. Thanks again. 229252 http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/files/I-864.pdf Page 2, right side column. Does the 864A apply to you??? The 864A is only nessecary if you need help from other people to make it over the poverty line. http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/for...iles/I-864p.pdf
6. Being a student and having 3 temporary jobs. Means he's not full time (No OT) and and doesn't have much time to study either. He's probably not making much more than minimum wage (let's say $10, minimum wage is usually around $7 in most states.) Assuming that he works 40hrs between 3 jobs at $10/hr...? is $400 a week, $1600 a month and 19,200 a year. Take out around 38% in taxes for Uncle Sam and he's left with about $14K. My recommendation is don't ask... He's not making much right now, but he will after he gets his degree (...and gets his student loan paid off.)
7. I didn't hear anyone meantion "home sickness". She misses home, and like Trigg said... I miss Vegas too. Amy refers to Vegas as hell on earth. Watching the money flow into the slots like water over Niagra Falls is heart wrenching for her, but oddly enough she's allways willing and eager to contribute to the cause. We're going back to China in the fall. It will be her 1st time back snce being here in the states. We're going together.

I-864

Good question. When I filed my 864, I sent in 01', 02', 03' when my wife went to the interview she had copies of my 02', 03', 04' taxes. Don't over think the 864, Get it done and mail it in. The way the 864 is written it is technically impossible to fill it out correctly. They just want to see you have a steady job and you pay your taxes. I haven't heard of any CR1 getting turned down because of issues with the 864. Good Luck,
12. Ob, Times have changed. The I-130 approval days seem to have gone back to it's old ways again. No more 2 week approvals and your on your way to NVC. His 129 is faster, forget the CR-1. I agree with Jim, GZ is the last place to get info on what's happening in GZ. You need to call DOS. You get accurate info from a live human being with a name vs. a response that's copy and pasted out of FAQ from the GZ website that won't answer your question anyways, and may even confuse you even more. Good Luck.

DCF may not require a P3 supliment, they have all the information in it already anyways. http://candleforlove.com/FAQ/CFL_FAQ_P3_Final1.htm#Q1_12 [For DCF] Send back the DS-230 and OF-169 checklist. K-1s also have a supplemental to return, but I'm not sure about DCFers. This will get GZ started and eventually P-4 will show up. You can send GUZ an e-mail asking them if it's required for DCF or not.
14. http://www.geocities.com/jgomes4551/approval.html Here's a link for heads up... Congratulations guys. The hardest part of the is right now. In a few weeks it will only be a memory. Glad to here they changed the process back the rightway again. CSC was approving I-130's to K3'S as fast as K1/129F NOA1's two years ago. To send the k3/129f to Chicago was a waist. Hang up the CR-1, your K3 blew right past it. Good news. Those are definately P3's they recieved. Cool.
15. Thanks for the stock tip. I'll be buying frito-lay's and some other big named company that sells mouse and keyboards. I wonder if the stock prices of cheetos and computer keyboards actually follow the same trends? Congrats Jim.

17. David, The drugs are for you or for her? If you fail the drug test, do you get to take more until you pass or pass out? PK, $700 bucks on SWA, 3 days & 2 nights on the strip including 2 RT tix. Don't drive. Randy, We got to take our permit test in Chinese. She failed the 1st time (bombed it!) and passed no problems the 2nd time. (after reading the manual in Chinese.) We have been taking short trips driving around at night after the traffic dies down... way down. Amy's doing good under 30mph. She was confident, so we went on the freeway last night. OMG!!! Not going to do that again for a while. Amy's english is really good, but when the pressure's on, english goes out the window. After we got home she asked what "blinker" meant. (I used about 6 different words for "directional", "turn signal", "flashing light" yada yada yada.) We got home ok. She unpealed her fingers from the steering wheel and mine from the dashboard. she couldn't understand why I was so scared, until I went over the situations we encountered. She wasn't scared, because she was oblivious to the hazards. It's really hard to stay cool and calm when you don't know if your next turn is your last. I told her next time, I'll drive the route to demonstrate and then she can drive it to try and copy what I do. judging speed and distance, switching lanes and turning your head to check your blind spots are the scariest parts. They don't teach that in the manuals. Calling the driving school today!!!
18. Congratulations... Great feeling isn't it. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y107/BuffaloBillsRock/FUO/dancing.gifhttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y107/BuffaloBillsRock/FUO/dance.gif
19. Great post. Congratulations, You went through the exact same nightmare I did (CR1, CSC). A whole loy more smoothly than I did. Best wishes
20. yea , what you said, but I used scotch tape instead.
21. Make sure when using those fillable forms that you proof read every entry carefully, especially the G-325 where the boxes filled in on the 1st page fill the blanks on pages 2, 3, and 4 also. On mine, my lawyer filled out the fillable G-325 for me. I proof read it and saw that my wife's address had been cut off because the font was too large. I told my lawyer about it and gave it back to him to mail it off for me. It wasn't until I fired him 6 months later and took my paperwork back from him that he only corrected the 1st page. My wife's address was incomplete on pages 2, 3, and 4. My wife never recieved a single letter or package in the mail from Uncle Sam until her P4 came. All docs prior to the P4 were sent to me as her agent. I'de fill the papers out as much as I could for her, scan them in to pdf and then e-mail them to her for her to sign and mail them directly back to the visa center.
22. Jonathan, 1st of all, congratcha-freakin-lations. That's great news. My travel agent gets consolidator fares for the same price you paid. anywhere from $750 to $850 from SFO to China is the going rate. Pay more than $900 and your not getting the best price from SFO. Here's my travel agents info if anyone is interested. Everyone in the office speaks Chinese and English fluently Ling Liu ling@eztravelglobal.com 408-978-1661 San Jose, CA
23. I called and requested a DMV Handbook (Chinese) for my wife, they mailed it free of charge, took about 4 days. 200796 I couldn't find the manual in Chinese anywhere online. We went there today to get her permit. 17/36 ouch... That was taking the test in chinese. Imagine if it was english... She laughed when she finished it. She knew she bombed it. She can't wait to take it again now that she knows what to expect.
