  1. I thought when my wife did her physical in China to go to interview to come to the USA, greencard app says she needs another physical? Thought that crap was good for a year.
  2. Is there any fee associated with the biometrics?
  3. Could you give me a how-to? I googled infopass and went to the infopass link, clicked the make appointment, entered the info asked for, and it tries to schedule me for an appointment in Atlanta. I can't find an option to move my assigned appointment location/date. Is there somewhere else I should be going?? Or some other link, website, or whatever I should go to? I called USCIS and the lady says don't worry, go to Birmingham on your appointment date. I've gotten no correct information when I've called before, so I don't really trust her...tone in her voice suggested she was playing by ear. The ASC appointment notice says in bold capital letters, PLEASE APPEAR AT THE BELOW APPLICATION SUPPORT CENTER AT THE DATE AND TIME SPECIFIED. IF YOU FAIL TO APPEAR AS SCHEDULED, YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED ABANDONED. I told her that, and she says don't worry about it, it just means show up at ANY office.
  4. I got a request to come to the Application support center with my wife for fingerprinting for her employment authorization. Hooray! ...wait...Loisianna? ....there's a support center in Alabama...which is where I live...which is 1 hr away...LA one is 7 hours away... What makes more sense? Is there any way to contact them and ask to be moved to that support center? Therefore not loosing so much time from work...plus transportation cost? Bills are tight, everything that can break has.
  5. Okaaaay lotta questions here, will try not to ask to many stupid ones. I-485 on part 2, APPLICATION TYPE 1. Which is the correct box for a K-3 visa holder to check? on part 3, Were you inspected by a U.S. Immigration Officer? 2. What would constitute an inspection, What would it consist of? Is it like a general airport security check, or one of those rubber glove in the hiney things? (didn't have that happen, just curious) SUPPLEMENT A TO FORM I-485 1. Do I need to fill this out, wife is a K-3? I hope not, it's 1000$. FORM I-765 Line 9 asks for Social Security Number *include all numbers if yuo have ever used) (if any). 1. My wife had a temporary SSN card while here in the USA as a student, would i put that number on line 9? I am unsure if it's still valid, or how that would work. FORM G-325A This form is submitted in connection with an application for which of the following concerning a K-3 __Naturilization __Status as Permanent Resident __Other One last question, or request I should say. From start to finish, what forms do I need for EAD, and for AOS. I have: I-765 for employment. I have: I-485 for AOS, along with I-864, I-864A, G-325A as required supporting forms to accompany the I-485. Are there any government forms I'm missing, just forms, not counting birth cert and what not? And do I need to pay the fees for the supporting forms I send with the I-485 if they have an associated fee or would that only apply when filing them seperately? *PANT PANT*, I hope that's all.
  6. My wife is staying at Mr. Yang's now. I have a few questions about what she was told there. Her interview is at 7:15 am on the 21st. He told her people in the morning interviews usually fail due to the VO being grumpy. He told her if she gets the visa she has to wait in GZ for it to be mailed. I thought she could have it mailed to her home. She says Yang told her he can foward it to her home for a fee. He told her she didn't need to worry about getting in line until 7:00. I was under the impression that dozens of people show up. Shouldn't she get that at 6am just to be on the safe side? She also says the room doesn't look anything like the picture on the site.
  7. http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/M-476.pdf A few more things, break a law even unintentionally and the US government cannot deport a person that has citizenship. Citizenship cannot be revoked. Having an American passport allows travel to places covered by the visa waiver program, such as most of Europe, Australia, Canada... Traveling with the Chinese passport requires to first get a Visa to visit countries than an American does not need one. I have a friend who's husband is getting naturalized because of the pain of having to travel to NYC every year or so to renew their Greek passport, in order to travel home from time to time for a visit, having the 10 year American Passport will eliminate that problem. No need to keep renewing a green card every 10 years. Cool thanks for the info.
  8. My wife asked me a question a little while ago and I don't know how to answer it. She asked, how is a U.S citizen different than having a green card? What rights or special things do you have as a citizen that you don't have with a green card? I really don't know. I told her. All I could think of is you have to take a test to be a citizen
  9. I called NVC, they said it had been sent to GZ September 10 and they had sent me a letter stating this. I told them I never received it. They're sending out another one just for my records. One more little question about the I-134 and then hopefully I won't need to be a pest for a little while. My parents file jointly, will I need an I-134 for each of them , or only one for the joint filing.
  10. Oh, and after the I-129 is approved and you get the letter stating they will be contactiong the person who wishes to immigrate, how long of an amount of time is acceptable to wait? I got this letter back in August. It's now halfway through November and my wife hasn't gotten any mail. She got the choice of agent for before, so I know they have her address. For the I-130.
  11. I don't see where to list co sponsor, if my income and assets are not enough for I-134 how to I indicate I want to use a cosponsor?
  12. I stayed 90 days last time, all I did was write 90 days under duration of stay and was issued a 90 day visa. I would love to know how to file for the 1 year visa before I go. My wife told me she spoke with a friend at the embassy in Shenyang, and they told her if I brought a notarized and apostiled copy of our marriage certificate and my birth certificate they could change my tourist visa to a 1 year visa.
  13. Can anyone recommend a good company through which I can get a tourist visa to China? I have purchased a ticket for December 1st which will put me in Shenyang, China on December 3rd (my birthday!). I decided to treat myself, haven't seen my wife in a year, and the more I thought about it, I found it pointless sitting here waiting, not knowing the next time I'll see her. Yes, for paperwork's sake it might be better to sit here and wait, but it's still a year I can never have back, or make up. I know everyone will think I'm a moron, or impatient, or have a bad attitude...I don't see it that way. Plus I get free kung fu lessons! Not sure how long I will stay, I do know I'll be there for the interview no matter what it takes. I have a few questions as to what items I should take in the way of her interview and paperwork. 1. Since it will obviously be way into 2007 before the interview, and my income tax will have been filed for 2006, will I need new a new I-864 with all the updated income tax, W-2s and all that for the CR-1? I heard the one I filed in July 2006 with the last tax year being 2005 was good for one year, then I'd need to fill out an updated one after that. My K-3 was recently approved also, so will I need the I-864 version of that form? (can't remember the number, something like I-324??) with all the new tax information, or do I just basically use the same info as my CR-1 I-864 from 2006. I don't know which visa will get an interview first, seeing as my CR-1 was sent back 3 months after I filed it because I forgot to write N/A in the apartment blank of my address form, I figure the K-3 will be first. 2. Is there any type of paperwork, parent's birth certificate, driver's license, mail to show proof of residence that I should take? Copies of credit card receipts where I bought phone cards? Do I need to have any of this notarized or will photocopies be ok? 3. I've never faxed anything to China, if my parent's had to fax me something, is there any special something I should know? Thanks for any advice.
  14. My I-864 has been returned after 3 months of assuming it was all done properly. They said the income listed for my parents did not match the IRS records. My parents file jointly, I used W-2's to calculate their individual income and list it under other qualifying persons. My question is, which one of these amounts is correct. 1. Line 15 on the Income Tax form 1040A which is listed as 15. Add lines 7-14b (far right column) This is your total income > $$$$$$$ ***note*** line 14A is not in the far right column, 14b is however******** 2. Line 14a on the Income Tax form 1040A which is listed as 14a. Social Security Benefits Or would I add the 2 together? The total amount they filed does not appear to include the Social Security Benefits, there is a line 14b called Taxable Amount, which appears to be the part of the Social Security Benefits that are taxable and get added to total income for taxation purposes. When I sent in the I-864 I added line 14a. Social Security Benefits and line 15. Total Income together and wrote that as the total. I am unsure what to write, the service center said to contact a tax attorney (because they didn't know). So how should I do this, just write line 15 and forget the Social Security Benefits? Add Social Security Benefits and Total Income? I've never filed taxes, I always let someone else file them for me and I am unsure of how Social Security Benefits are taxed and figured into income, my parents say they don't know which way I should total the income. If it would help I can scan a copy of the 1040A form and show where I am lost. Also, when entering the amount I earned, do I write total gross income from the IRS transcript or adjusted amount? Thanks for any help.
