  1. Randy, There trying to buck the BIA Decision in the Matter of LE, with this statement 4 years after the fact, too many cases of been Adjudicated since June 2011 for this hold any water. a good lawyer can handle this.
  2. If you haven't got the GC yet, expect an Interview, same thing happened with us.
  3. Chilton, I agree, seems that we both fit into the same catagory, in my case someone is learning a hard lesson now. As for the OP, there is 1 interesting point to make, once his wife rely's on the word of others and believes this to be the absolute truth, it's almost a lost cause at this point. The situation is different of what the OP stated about the Chinese friends parents versus what his wife wants for her daughter. Life with the OP and his wife will take a major turn and be tested to the max at this point, until she's ready to accept the fact that we don't change law to fit our needs, that there is no other work around to accomplish the desires of the wife to get her daughter here sooner. That's the reason why we have laws.
  4. This is the first time I have seen this interpretation of the 40 credits rule. Do you have a link? I haven't seen this either?
  5. The of the 7th Cir decision, is that it’s being fought in the courts now in regards to the I-864, points to be taken into account , does she have a marketable skill, if so, then there is no reason not to seek employment unless his wife had the mind set of being (trophy wife). In the case provided, she refused to seek employment. The use of my current situation is a good example of having this contract terminated by other means.
  6. There was a recent 7th CA decision that argued the point of the (wife or ex-wife) wasn’t actively seeking employment, were the Judge declared that the Affidavit of Support was null and void. As my divorce is nearing and the Tax filing deadline just around the corner, filing separately, the ex-will get charged with TF, thus being charged with a felony, which is a deportable offense, this will end the contract between myself and the Government. http://www.ca7.uscourts.gov/tmp/KC1FFH73.pdf
  7. My Step-son dropped by yesterday to wish me a Happy Father's Day. His words; "Dad, Thanks for helping me throught the tough times. How could I be so lucky to have a Dad like you. I Love You! Thank You So Much"
  8. Right you are Randy. As an example, when I was in the military in Nam I noticed that the higher rankin' the officer the more flies he had followin' him. We had these 3 and 5 hole out houses in Phu Loi and good gawd man, if anyone over the rank of a left handed salutin' warrant officer walked in the trail of flies in his wake was jes downright awful. Enlisted men, no problem but you git some higher rankin' desk jockey and WOOO...you'd have to go outside to finish yore business...they wuz "fly hives" I tells ya. tsap seui LOL http://video.ca.msn.com/watch/video/beijing-s-two-fly-limit-toilet-rule/16itfgdy7?from
  9. She committed herself when she slepted with him, unsure if he knows what that means to her. I understand his position, singel parent, three kids at home, it's not like he can just pick-up and go and live in China, travel yes. I hope he's able to re-connect with her.
  10. The question becomes, will she cast-out as the black sheep of the family, or will it take time for her family to accept her choice for a husband. I understand the traditional culture values, but times are changing, if parents don't understand it's the daughters choice (parents being selfish), not their choice who she decides to spends the rest of there life with, the point that is missing is her happiness. We can't predict what their future will be, no more that the parents can, her choice could become the next (Mark Z from Facebook) for all we know. My point here is they have set the foundation of a strong relationship, have a life plan together and are going to see it through not matter what anyone says. Example, if a Turkish women is already promised at an early age, to be married to someone who the father knows (typically to a family relative or someone close to the family), but she's not in love with the chosen person, then the father is forcing his will on his daughter, is this right? In some cases this ends up with negative results, the daughter being killed because she has disgrace her family because of Culture. The middle-east is a good example of what can happen, it does happen in Europe and sometime here i the US. Another example, my ex at 43 still had to ask her parents for permission before she married me, and I went through an 1 1/2 Q&A session with her brothers and sisters, dam you would think at this age she would able to make her own decission in reference to her future. That's really funny Chris. I can imagine my inlaws and Wenyan's two brothers grilling me for an hour and a half about us gettin' married. Heck, we'd laugh through most anything they could ask. Wenyan was 43 also when I met her and her family, 45 when we got married there in China. I get along great with the family, we are usually laughing our butts off at some silly thing I do, or something funny they say. The whole family has a great sense of humor...I can't even imagine things gettin' serious enough that they would think to ask me questions.....maybe that's because on my first trip when I kept seeing them say "Gambe" and emptyin' their glasses at our first meal in ma and ba's home I thought it was some kind of toast....so, next time one of them said gambe I said Chairman Mao as I raised my glass...that got a big laugh but the next time they said gambe I said Mao Zedong....they went crazy with laughter and pointing at me. Any ice that may have been got melted at that first dinner together. Then 2 years later when it looked like we were never going to get a visa I bought Wenyan a new home, and we hadn't even married yet. That deed I reckon showed them the funny white boy wuz serious about their lil' girl. Heck, I bought the house because it looked like that was where Uncle Sammy was going to mandate that I was to live, if I wanted to be with Wenyan. Not tryin' to make fun of a serious matter like a family askin' the intended what his plans were, it's just that our family relationship would get side tracked with laughter if they had started askin' me questions.. Shucks, I think the last time I was ever serious was back in 1962, and I can't even remember what that was all about. Hope things go well in September for you. tsap seui Tsap, Actually, you may not know it, but the relatives and the partying fell into their plan, you may not have know it at the time. On every visit, when the family was out to have dinner, one of the brother's would bring BYOB to the table just for the men, it's their way to see if they can get you drunk, to see you show your "True Face". But in my case it didn't work, having lived in Europe for more than 25 years, I have drank just about everything you could image, so trying to get me drunk wouldn't work, I'm by no means a drinker, but if need be I can drank anyone of the four under the table. Example, take an average American, sent him to Germany, let him drink four German beers, he doesn't realize he just drank a half a case of beer, 1 German beer (9% at 1/2 liter)) equals 3 American beer (3.2% at 36 ozs) by alcohol content by volume. Man, I have seen guys crawling on hand and knees across the parade field, trying to get back to the Barracks because they couldn't walk. As for the ex, she'd been married twice before, I guess it was more of being accepted into the family, than anything else. September has ben tabled for the moment, due to the delay of the divorce and settlement, I'll PM with the details later.

  12. First off, it's a matter of respect of the people and the culture, we can't change their opinions, but we can shape it to a point, behavioral actions speak louder than words and with this said, it's still up to the viewer to accept and not to accept us in there country. The topic could be changed to: What does the Average World Citizen think of the Chinese? Or any other Country for that matter! Opinions may vary based on mileage and country of response? As for shopping, the ex was the one made the purchases, naturally she knew that the local shop owners would take advantage of a foreigner shopping in there stores. Kind of reminds me of the couples day spent in Hong Kong, walking in the shopping district, I was approached by a guy from India, had a nice tailor shop, he stopped me, asking if i want to buy a suit,, I asked him how much and he said 900 HKD, I said no thank you and fallowed with I can get the same suit in Mainland China for $80 US.
  13. Honestly Chris, I think you would be very surprised to see the elite social circles of China. There are many educated professional women in China who hold avanced degrees from prestigious American Universities. There are even more who hold bachelors degrees, who spent only the 3-4 years in the foreign country it took to get the degree. The other side of the spectrum, are Chinese women who hold advanced degrees from Chinese or other Asian countries; Taiwan for example. These women are at the top of their game. They speak impeccable English and have extraordinary grammar skills. Any of them would dance circles around most Western people when tested. Their knowledge of world events and culture is uncanny. These women are not interested in the common man. Why would they be after all the hard work, time and money their families have invested. I can agree with what your saying, but there are other women out there that are not as advanced from an education standpoint, and they don't fall into the elite status as your saying. What is the percentage of say 1 million Chinese women looking for a lifes mate that fall into this category? I mean a Western man with BA in under-qualified by your standards or the standards your suggesting to be a possible husband, so in a sense we are a common man in relationship to these elite women who hold Masters or Phd's? There are over 338,000 women on AFF looking for a man. You might want to open your eyes too! Take a look at AFF, you might be surprised.
