  1. Joe, Yesterday you called DOS? or GUZ? Also I remember GUZ Speaks said that for K1's, the name check process begins before they receive the paper copy. Maybe that's why some people receive P-3 before the computer shows anything.
  2. I called DHL and asked why it showed delivered and then in transit again. He told me that it's an error and Shipments from HK were using the same tracking number as the shipment I was tracking. He said they have had numerous errors such as this. It was delivered and to ignore the in transit part of it.
  3. I emailed GUZ asking if they receive our paper copy of file yet. This is there response. "Dear Sir, Thank you for your email. We've not yet recieved this case. After NVC notifies an applicant that they have shipped the petition to the Consulate, typically it takes 60 to 120 days for file/petition to be received and processed by post. This time period includes the time required to clear China's customs, security screening of the boxes when they are received by post, and then sorting and processing time for the Immigrant Visa Unit." They also told me I need to use the pay service by phone for questions.
  4. Did DOS say that GUZ received the actual paper file or just electronic? Did you confirm this?
  5. I don't understand any of this. My case was shipped on 11/23 according to NVC. The next shipment I see is on 11/25 and then 11/28. The 11/23 shipment was signed "Stamp" but is also in transit. Both shipments went to Guangzhou but are also on the way to HongKong. But the destination says Guangzhou. Do they go to HK then back to Guangzhou? I'm so confused.
  6. Do they have high speed internet if I bring my own laptop?
  7. This is very strange. 12/16/2005 4:20 am In transit. Kowloon, Hong Kong 12/2/2005 11:53 am On Hand. Guangzhou, China 11/30/2005 9:54 pm Arrived at DHL facility. Guangzhou, China 2:20 pm Arrived at DHL facility. Kowloon, Hong Kong 11/29/2005 4:50 am Transit through sort facility. Wilmington, OH 11/28/2005 2:50 pm Picked Up by DHL. Shipper's Door Ship From: NATIONAL VISA CENTER Portsmouth, NH 038012901 United States Ship To: Guangzhou, China From NVC to HK then to Guangzhou then to HK now in transit. WTF?
  8. How did you get the PayPal visa card to your SO? Does PayPal send it to her, or do you have to mail it to her? Thx
  9. I think trying to track DHL online is a waste of time since GUZ said the packages are not labled "diplomatic papers". Only packages I can find on DHL going to Guangzhou are diplomatic.
  10. Celeb prenups. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051213/ap_en_...lebrity_prenups LOS ANGELES - No mother-in-law sleepovers. Only one football game per Sunday. Mandatory sexual positions. With celebrity marriages often shorter than Jessica Simpson's Daisy Dukes, the power of the prenuptial agreement cannot be denied. Simpson and soon-to-be-ex-husband Nick Lachey didn't have a prenup — he actually had more earning power than she did when they got married three years ago — so Simpson could have to part with half of the $30 million she earned last year. That's a lot of Chicken of the Sea. Other recent breakups include Valerie Bertinelli and Eddie Van Halen and Christina Applegate and Jonathon Schaech. Prenups are the norm for most stars — even regular folks should have one, if you listen to Kanye West — and these documents can dictate far more than who gets what. Attorneys say some recent celebrity prenups include: • Limiting the wife's weight to 120 pounds or she must relinquish $100,000 of her separate property. • Allowing a spouse to perform random drug tests, with financial penalties for positive results. • Requiring a husband to pay $10,000 each time he is rude to his wife's parents. • The previously mentioned rules regarding mothers-in-law, football and sex. "Everything is legal unless you're dealing with custody of children or child support," said Los Angeles divorce attorney Robert Nachshin, who has represented Barry Bonds (his ex signed the prenup the day before their wedding) and author Terry McMillan (who discovered the young hubby who brought her groove back was gay). "Everything else is up for grabs." So if Simpson had planned ahead, she could have limited Lachey's football-watching plus protected her "Dukes of Hazzard" and Dessert cosmetics dollars. "People have their own little peculiar peccadilloes they're concerned about," said attorney Leon F. Bennett, who has represented Marlon Brando, Kelsey Grammer and Dennis Hopper. "People of wealth have a sense they have power over others that their money can acquire, and reality shows it can." High-profile prenups typically contain confidentiality clauses to keep them out of the public eye, Nachshin said. Even during divorce, many celebrities keep their arrangements private by hiring a retired judge to oversee the proceedings, said attorney Connolly Oyler, who has represented producer Sam Simon and Ali Landry. Infidelity clauses are common, Nachshin said. Michael Douglas agreed to pay Catherine Zeta-Jones millions should he stray, and Denise Richards made similar requirements of Charlie Sheen. Custody of pets is another common concern. Bennett once handled a case that dictated the destination of a couple's taxidermied horse. Even gardeners, baby sitters and pool men have been addressed. Most states, including California, consider anything earned or bought after the wedding day to be community property that should be divided equally in a divorce. Prenuptial agreements — which are signed by both parties by don't have to be filed in court — can legally determine the distribution of almost anything the couple shared, from art collections to country club memberships. But discussing the prenup isn't exactly romantic. "The problem is the implied distrust," said Jeremy Ritzlin, a longtime Los Angeles marriage and family therapist. One of Bennett's celebrity clients was so worried about offending his future wife, he skipped a prenup in favor of financial planning to keep his pre-marriage property separate. Roseanne Barr was so in love with Tom Arnold before their 1990 wedding that she fired her attorney for suggesting she sign a prenup. When the couple divorced four years later, Arnold left with $50 million. Britney Spears was reportedly so taken with Kevin Federline that she refused to sign a prenup until her mom and business managers intervened. "They may be blinded by love and lust," Bennett said, "but they still need to be protected."
  11. Congrats! Did your SO do the entire interview in English?
  12. Thx David. This scares me to death just thinking about having to try and do a 5 min video of us communicating. We communicate in our own way but I really dont think we could do a video for 5 minutes that would make any sence. I wish GUZ would address this.
  13. I'm very interested. GUZ are you listening?
  14. I would like to ask the GUZ why our cases sit in DHL for such a long time before they pick up the package. I would also like to ask the GUZ why a certain VO will hand out a blue slip for lack of English skills, while other VO's don't see it as a problem.
  15. Was that their only reason for denial? I thought you mentioned something about a video tape also.
  16. And congratulations Cerberus. I wish you both a very happy future. glty
  17. All my pincity logs show my number as the number called from.
  18. Maybe GUZ could explain why it takes so long for our cases to be picked up.
  19. So if a package was signed "stamp", does that mean it has arrived at the GUZ?
  20. that was multiple applications by the usc at the same time. Not the same as having multiple applications previously.
  21. I've been through multiple visas. In my opinion things move quicker because I've already had my name and background checked a kazillion times. I wouldn't sweat it.
  22. Yesterday I faxed GUZ my SO's chinese address. Today I called the DOS to see if maybe they would know if the fax was received. Wasn't sure if maybe it would be noted in a computer or not, so I took the chance to call. The lady on the phone was nearly yelling at me before I even had a chance to explain why I called. She raised her voice so high I had to move the phone from my ear. She said GUZ just received our case electronically on 28th. I came so close to telling her what I thought about her attitude, but then decided I would be better off just saying thank you and goodbye. That's all I need is some DOS employee pissed off at me. Obviously someone who hates her job and is taking it out on people who call for help.
