  1. I'm pretty sure people will be wanting Chinese visas in the near future. China is growing rapidly economically and experts predict that the next essential language to learn will be Chinese.
  2. If they can churn out 1000 visas a day like they stated, then the only wait should be the delivery of the EMS letters. If GZ has the clearances now, they should be mailing out the letters by today, and should get to people sometime next week. Is this a logical assumption?
  3. When is that new phone service going to be implemented in GZ? I'm wasting minutes getting only the message recording.
  4. We must continue to pressure these guys, and we can't have a repeat a month ago when they kept feeding us the "2 weeks" crap and we fell for it and we had a "silence period of 2 weeks". Granted good news has been relayed lately, but we must continue to raise our voices, until we see actual visas being stamped.
  5. No response yet from Congressman Cox - CA, after 2 weeks. I voted for him too.. I don't know if I should even bother with Senator Feinstein.
  6. I know the distinction of whether a K-1 or K-3 is an Immigrant or Non-Immigrant causes confusion. K-1s and K-3s are immigrant visas. GZ lists them as IV, and DOS lists them as IV. And it makes sense, K-1s and K-3s are people that are immigrating to the U.S. to live, not for a temporary stay. I have seen this confusion on the other boards a while back. Whatever the case, I just want my fiancee to get her visa.
  7. Has anyone been successful in connecting with a live person on the GZ line? I was 0 for 5 yesterday with 2 successful message recordings.
  8. Mick, And does the mythical mailing room exist? If so, what did it look like? A vault with a bunch of petitions with cobwebs? And how do they determine these hits for the name checks? Do they just do a name search on Google? Thanks for your efforts and Owen's and others who contributed.
  9. Pending means that the name check is still in the process of being verified and checked. Once the name check clears, they'll send the clearance to GZ, and GZ should mail out P4.
  10. Congratulations! Keep them coming...like Jerry McGuire would say, "Show me the visa!" In my fiancee's case, "Show her P4!"
  11. Tom, No one really knows about the current P3-P4 process. It varies from case to case, but logically GZ should complete the name check before sending the P4 so that a visa can be issued immediately after an interview. However, every single permutation you can think of is plausible regarding the name check process, the P3-P4 process, and the visa issuance. 1. An interview date/P4 can be sent out after a complete name check is finished. 2. An interview can be completed, and another round of name checks can begin, I don't know why. 3. etc... I'm still in your position, waiting for P4. I'm crossing my fingers hoping to hear something soon from GZ for my fiancee and everyone else in this plight.
  12. My fiancee is still waiting for P4 and the interview. Below is our timeline. I contacted my local Congressman, but to no surprise, no response. I will keep trying.
  13. So in the past couple of days since GZ's CNY vacation, is that a total of 3 confirmed completed background checks that have been sent to GZ? If so, at least there seems to be movement now? Please say it is so!
  14. Congrats Does that mean the floodgates will be open soon?
  15. Good luck to the GZ convoy! Keep us updated.
  16. Good luck Owen and Mick, and others who are representing us at GZ. Have a safe journey. May the force be with you!
  17. All I can say is, "something is fishy", "smells fishy", etc... However I'm staying positive, that's my only option.
  18. GZ received our P3 on 12-02-2002, but I'm assuming that they still haven't "processed our forms" yet. So it's probably sitting in the mail room, like usual. I don't understand why they didn't just process our P3 the same time they received our P3. In their email they said it will take 3-4 months from the time of receiving a petition to an interview date. But we all know by now that there's no set timeline. However, I can use this statement in my correspondence with them. I've called DOS once a month ago, but was told the "computers were down" and I haven't called since. However, if GZ does completion of the background check before scheduling the interview date, it's a good idea to call DOS . If this is the case, then if a background check is cleared that means a P4 should be mailed out. As for the "9/11" argument, I think GZ is taking advantage of it to their benefit, and use it as an excuse. Before 9/11 GZ and other U.S. Consulates were churning out fiancee visas in record time. Now after 9/11, it seems like it's only GZ that is not churning out visas anymore while the others are still processing visas without delays. Plus it doesn't hurt to call DOS, give it a try.
  19. I applaud every member of the "Black Hole gang" for their patience, perserverance, and unity. Your encouragement gives me encouragement.
  20. If that is the case, then I will plan to go back to China and wait it out with my fiancee, however long it takes. I will wait and see until the first week of March when the Dept. Homeland Security becomes effective. GZ should be back to work today.
