Yes GZ is back to the next-day visa pickup. I confirmed this on numerous occassions through the clerks at GZ.

I just called GZ and the clerk told me that she "estimates at least 2 months" for my fiancee's name to be cleared. I called last week, and a different clerk told me 1 month, and I called 2 weeks ago and a different clerk told me 2 months from that point. Moral of the story: name check still has not cleared. On another note, she told me that the visa will be issued on the day after the interview.

rphlh, Thanks. I've called GZ numerous times, and I finally got them to submit my fiancee's name to DOS for the name check 2 weeks ago. I haven't called CA yet, because I never get the chance since I work during the day. I do understand how GZ works, and I'm glad everytime that anyone sees progress in their case.

rplh, Is yours a K-1? Ours is a K-1 and I have an earlier timeline, but I'm still waiting for my P4.

Because of the recent current events, and the unpredictable future, I myself am seriously considering going to China and waiting with my fiancee until she gets her visa.

Nothing mentioned on their site. I'm still suscribed to the Beijing embassy mailing list, and they didn't mention anything about shutting down.

Yes I agree. I'm curious to why ChinaRose received medical forms in the P3. As for as I know, and what my fiancee received in her P3, there weren't any medical forms in the P3 package. Maybe they've changed another process also? I can see why a medical examination can be done with a P3 because it allows more time to have an examination. However, check with GZ on your P3. Oh this is a K3 case? I just reread the post. Then disregard this message, because I can't comment on a K3.

tparrent, Does your company have any openings? I want to find the most optimal job where I will have sufficient time to spend with my future wife and also earn a respectable income. But, with the current job market it might be tough. The thought of spending 2/3 of my day at work and away from home is depressing...

GZ said they have finally submitted my fiancee's name to DOS, but the clerk stated it "takes AT LEAST 2 months." 2 MORE MONTHS??? Please my CFL veterans, say it ain't so! Will it and does it take DOS 2 months for a name to be cleared once it is submitted to them?

I would be more concerned with N. Korea and the airspace for passenger flight, than I would be with Iraq.

Did you receive "official" word from GZ or DOS?
