  1. How the heck are you going to fit the car on her finger??????
  2. Ling wants to return to China for New Year's but Chicago seems to have ground to a halt (again) for A/P. Anyone have experience filing the emergency application? Thanks
  3. After all my trips to China when someone asks me if I've ever eaten dog, the most I can say is "not to the best of my knowledge" I hope my puppy doesn't smell my breath too closely B)
  4. Send it to me in small, unmarked bills and I'll carry it over Hey! I'm a banker - you can trust me
  5. If border agents can now take fingerprints and pictures and check backgrounds in 10-15 seconds - sooooo, why does it take BCIS months?????? http://www.cnn.com/2003/TRAVEL/12/23/airpo...y.ap/index.html
  6. Kenosha! We're just down the road from you near Crystal Lake, IL. I make it up your way quite a bit for sailing. Maybe the girls can get together once yours arrives. Have your lady contact mine at chenling43@SPAMFREEhotmail.com (remove the spamfree when using the address)
  7. We got our AP receipt notice in mid December and it said it takes one to two months to receive approval wondering if one month is possibly the norm since Ling is scheduled to go back to China in mid-January. Also scheduled fingerprinting for January 2. Is it possible she'll get the temporary green card interview before mid January? Thanks
  8. Ling is from Chongqing and she will be returning (hopefully) for Chinese New Year. If your ladies want the inside scoop on living in America, I'm sure she'd be happy to get together and tell them how wonderful her husband has been to her since she got here
  9. Ok I think I've got it now. WE are actually in Chicago. I have to stand in line at the post office to mail the material to BCIS which is right across the street Hopefully, AP will get processed quickly - that's our only real concern. Not even going to do EAD on orders from the One Who Must Be Obeyed (who says the $120 could best be spent elsewhere). The Indiana reference was in regard to someone Ling refers to only as "Indiana girl" - I though Mike might be her husband - in which case there was another long thread about to start concerning BOATS of all things Don't forget the money order...don't forget the money order...don't forget the money order
  10. What you've written is exactly what Ling has been told. Now I understand. You're not in Indiana, are you?
  11. Ling tells me that we don't need to apply for EAD along with our AOS and AP because she will get a "special stamp" in her passport in a couple months. Huh????? She entered on a K-1, we're married now and she doesn't plan to work immediately but could in the future. Seems to me like we need EAD. She even says we don't need AP because this special stamp will let her leave the country and that it only takes a couple months to get it. I'm so confused.
  12. I thought the $255 includes the fingerprint fee????? Do I have to fill out a specific form for EAD? (Not essential - she doesn't have to work but it would be nice to have I guess)
  13. One money order for the I-485 $255 One money order for Advance Parole $110 Right? Who is payee? BCIS? Most sites I have seen still say Immigration and Naturalization Service.
