  1. yup---he said he could get most cases through NVC in two months. most cases go through NVC in two months or less already--sooooooooooooooooo Sooooo true.
  2. I've got my welcome notice on 19th last month and found out that my name is wrong. I don't have middle name but there it is on the letter, I have a middle name! I freaked out! Called CIS at once and they told me to write a cover letter, copy my welcome notice and point out the error and send it with over-night express. The very next day I sent it out( 4 days after my welcome notice), I've got my green card in hand with wrong name! And then they told me that I need to file out I-90 and send it back with green card and copy of I-797(welcome notice). I am so confused and pi$$ed. Then I found out that I could get my passport stamped with I-551 but I can only go to the service center which issued my green card. Well... I fianlly got it done. Just few tips to share in case whoever is in the same situation: If you find error on welcome notice... most likely your green card will have the same info. Do not send the cover letter or call... wait for the actual green card. Save yourself hasle and money. Once the green card arrieves, call CIS or get online to find out which one is your service center and make an appointment with them online for the stamp of I-551(You can choose the date and time! ). They should give you a stamp on your passport for one year and you can then file in I-90, copy of I-797 and your green card without being uncomfortable. Hope that helps.
  3. There is a list of things that Guangzhou will need on your SO's interview which is reqired on her package 4... you can only get perpared by collecting anything you could think of. I am sure that there are member's checking list in this forum you can use for a guide. No one knows what kind of decision GZ is going to make and the only thing we can do about it is get things perpared and hoping for the best. Just my 2 cents.
  4. Welcome to the board! Sounded like you've been studying! I am sure you've got your answers above, but I just can't help to give a try too. 1. If you go there and marry her in China, you will apply K3 and K4 visa for her and her kid. If you perfer to marry her here in US, you will apply K1 and K2. 2. K1 and K2 might be slightly faster then K3 and K4, but you never know... K1 and K2 will cost less money up front, but you will need to pay to adjust her status later on so. 3. A civil ceremony is not must, but gals need it in most case. 4. GZ is short for Guangzhou which is a city in GuangDong and yes, it is the only immigration office in China. 5. You need to perpare a list of things before you file the I-129 and she will have to collect all the evidences and paper work before she goes to her interview. As far as I remember, she will need more stuffs. But how many trips to Guangzhou... that is up to the Visa officer.... hopfully, only once. 6. Read around... you can probably get your answers.
  5. Now.. let's wish your SO will recieve Package 3 in no time!
  6. I think you right... Those things are not in our daily sexsual practice... To be honest... as a city girl... this is the first time I've heard someone put them with sex.
  7. Yeah... the card follows less than a week. In my case... i was hoping they could take it slow this time but...
  8. It happens... Since she worked for her company for that long.. usually, she is titled with some welfare thing that she might need to take care of in person.
  9. Getting sued for slander would be difficult, especially if she is writing his company from China. Knowing this guy he probably hid the name of the airline he works for from her. She's called USCIS. I called the number I called many times before to see if a P3, P4 had been issued. They gave me a phone number for the Border Patrol (???) who supposedly does the investigations. We'll see if she can get anywhere with them. They should have plenty of time to investigate, they're not exactly busting their a$$'s watching the borders! They should be called the Airport Patrol. I found some links to some organizations who might be able to help her with some legal advice but she is quickly running out of time. Hopefully the woman who said she was the guys wife is in fact his legally wedded wife and not a live in. If so, he's in deep stuff or at least he oughta be, if the guvmints not too lazy to go after him. I dont think she is the legal one. Probably someone who he lives in with and has few kids with. Did he need to have a divorce paper filed in with I-129F? I don't think this is allowed to happen. Otherwise, CIS is not doing investing on the petitioner's side... which I highly doubt.
  10. I am old fashion. Why not go to China and find one in person? Personally, I think it's a bad idea to pay for someone to meet someone. The chances of getting some unknow situation is way better than you meet someone in face and use your own judgement. Just my 2cents.
  11. I will try to answer... 1. You could file one I-134 alone with your application if you wish to, it doesn't hurt but you don't have to until your fiancee's interview in GZ. Once she got her visa and enters in America, you need to get a I-864 when you perpare for her adjustment of status. When it comes to evidences, any evidences, i always believe the more the better. 2. I believe the forms are just statements, which means they will not affect you financially. 3. They only care about if you have enough money to support her. They don't look much deeper than that I think. Hope it helps.
  12. Are you sure that your case is stuck in NVC? When I trying to call NVC... they always telling me that they don't have my case and then I called DOS... they told me it was sent to GZ. Normally it takes from two to three months from approval to package3. I guess you can try to call DOS to find out if they have been sent your case to GZ yet. if not, it is probably in NVC and if they did... your finacee should see package 3 soon.
  13. Seems like they all gonna be around $100 at the end.
  14. if you want to track the packagge, you will have to know the date.
  15. Thats a good idea. If I don't think I can wait anymore, I might give a shot. BTW, do you have the address for protland office? 511 NW Broadway Portland, OR 97209 Close to Greyhoud Bus Depot and Union Station.. Thanks! BTW, I just recieved my green card today with a wrong name on it. But at the bottom, it has the correct name. Do you think I could use that one and go get a I-551 so I can travel and work before the right card arrives? I just sent the correction letter yesterday but the lady on phone says that I will have to go through another process if my card has been printed... do I have to call and "go through another process"?
  16. Thats a good idea. If I don't think I can wait anymore, I might give a shot. BTW, do you have the address for protland office?
  17. If you could, don't ever change your address during the process, ever.
  18. Finally... I recieved my welcome letter... but... there is an error... in my name... I don't know how did they figure out a middle name for me but I assume that's gonna cost some problem in the future if I don't fix it so I called CIS three times. They told me to make a copy of 797, point out the error and send by over night express mail along with a cover letter. Also I fount out that there is no confirm letter to expect. If my letter gets there before the green card printed, I am lucky. If not, I will have to go through another process... Sorry for the complain but how many errors are they gonna have in one process? First didn't change my address, I have to call they again and again to figure out my interview, then, sent my finger print appointment to my old address which was properly changed half year ago... good thing I made to the interview and got the appointment... now... wrong name... the process itself is stressful enough... and they just couldn't make anything easier... Sorry for the complaining... Just so let anyone know that, if you can, don't ever change your address... save yourself some problem...
  19. i don,t know for sure , but if i had to bet on your Question , i would say the only thing you can do is to wait Unfortunately... that's very true.
  20. Welcome to CFL! Wish you a smooth journey!
  21. It looks like her website, From China to USA, has really grown from what I can remember before. She used to post a couple of links in her signature here on CFL. One of them was a link to her website "WoW Pictures" and I don't remember the other link. She deleted the links to her websites one time when someone here made a derogatory remark to her. Later, she posted them back when things cooled down. Yeah, I miss her "take no BS" style, too, Carl She was a good poster! Maybe she will drop in and say hello to all of us! Kool Kat Pik B) I could invite her if you all missed her. From China to US is a good forum for new immigrants. Great place to kill time.
