  1. Ron, Go for the interview. Do your BEST to be there for American Citizen's Hour before the interview, then be there on the day. You will be fine! -James Can someone explain this "American Citizen's Hour" to me or point me in a direction where I can find more information about it? This is the first time I have heard of it.
  2. Thanks for the links. I have already been using the visajourney information and example forms. But thanks for the link to the guide as well. I will probably get this guide as I am just beginning this process. I try to read as much as i can about it. As I am sure we all do!
  3. I have just decided to hand write it. It's a bit of a relief to know that others encountered this too. Also, regarding the G-325A, near the bottom it states, "This form is submitted in connection with an application for:" I checked the "other" box and put "k-1 visa" since my SO and I are engaged and not married. The original example form that I printed out from visa journey had "K-1 Visa". Now, their example form shows the other box checked and "I-129F Petition for Fiance". I would put that but my fiancee already typed "K-1 Visa" on her G-325 form. Will checking "other and putting K-1 Visa be allright?
  4. Yes, i have the newest version and i also tried your link. if i put "N/A" in the year field under that particular question or if i tab through it, it will put "0000" under the year. Again it is quite strange, I tested it on my windows PC running acrobat reader 7.08 and it dose not behave like that. I also tested it on a MAC running OS X Tiger, and PDF Preview opens it normally and dose not behave in that way, it leaves those fields blank when I tab through them. Yes, if one tabs through the year, the field will be blank. However, when I put "N/A" in the year field (I am under the impression that we should not leave any field blank) and tab to the next field, it will default to all 0's. I think I may have to type "N/A" in the month field, leave the Year field blank, print it out and hand write "N/A" in the year field.
  5. Yes, i have the newest version and i also tried your link. if i put "N/A" in the year field under that particular question or if i tab through it, it will put "0000" under the year. And I just tried it on my laptop (the other time was on my desktop) and again it defaulted to the 0000 for the year.
  6. If someone has some advice, I really welcome it. I am completing my G-325A on the USCIS.GOV website PDF and under the question, "Applicant's last address outside of the United States..." I typed NONE, N/A, N/A, N/A and N/A for both month and year. However, the year field keeps defaulting to "0000". Not sure how to get past this. I know that a blank field must be either "NONE" or "N/A". Has this happened to anybody else?
  7. Congratulations! As I am new hear and just beginning the K-1 process myself, can someone explain the "white bound books" thing to me? Do these books come with the Birth Certificate, Single Certificate, etc.? Or, if not, how does one obtain one of these white bound books?
  8. Great advice. And yes I do have the boarding passes for my trips to China and I already planned to include copies of them and my passport stamps. Thanks.
  9. Thank you. I've read "question 10" a thousand times and I never made the connection that the first box was for Naturalization info. But after your clarification, I don't know how I missed that. Thanks for all of the information and the links. I come here everyday and to visajourney quite often.
  10. I am getting ready to mail my initial K-1 Visa application and I have a question regarding the proof of my U.S. Citizenship. The I-129F lists the types of documents that I can use as proof of my U.S. Citizenship. The directions state, "If you were born in the United States, give USCIS a copy, front and back, of your birth certificate." However, I live in South Dakota and there is nothing on the back of our birth certificates. I will obtain a copy of the original but will I have a problem if there is no photocopy of the back of this document? I know that I can send copies of my passport but I would like to also send a copy of my birth certificate. One more question. On question 10 of the I-129F (if I check "birth in the US") they want the original certiticate #, date that it was issued and place it was issued, correct? Not the date and place I requested the copy from the state right? I know this is a silly question but I just want to make sure everything is as it should be. Thanks.
  11. Thank you, I feel relieved to know that the stamp will not be an issue.
  12. Thanks for the reassurance! I appreciate it. I can tend to overanalyze things sometimes.
  13. I have been to China two times. The first time was from late may to mid June. I received an entry and and exit stamp in my passport. I returned through the POE in San Francisco. I received no stamp from the Department of Homeland Security. Just the two stamps in China. My second trip to China was from mid September to Late September. Again I received the two stamps in China (entry and exit). However, this time I received a stamp from the Department of Homeland Security upon my return at the POE at Chicago O'Hare. But I just noticed that the US stamp dated Sep 24 2006 was stamped on the passport pages with the Chinese stamps from May and June. The US agent stamped on the wrong pages. I did not notice until right now. I am going to send copies of my passport along with the I-129F. Does any think that this mistake will affect my application? I know I maybe worried about nothing but I just want to know what you all think. Thanks in advance.
  14. Thanks, everyone for all of your advice. It is very much appreciated.
  15. Yes, I was asking about the I-364 and I-864 for future steps. I did complete an I-129F and we (fiancee and I) both completed the G-325A when we were together in Beijing last week. I will mail out everything regarding the I-129F and G-325A later this upcoming week. Thank you for clarifying that the I-864 will come later on.
