GZ Cost

I would recommend that he stay at the rooms available with Mr. Xie, they can help him get to the right places to take care of the details, Rooms in the GZ Consulate Building 150 RMB/night. I know he could probably find a place for 20-40RMB/night, but these people can help him know where to go and when as well as assist with his questions and any paperwork issues he needs to understand. With his interview on Tuesday he will need to arrive on the previous Thursday evening at the latest so he can get his medical exam done on Friday and receive his results on Monday. 6-900 RMB Medical Examination Instructions, need to contact the First Hospital of Guangzhou Medical College to see when he would need to have his exam so he could get the results on Monday, this could include a 100RMB expediter fee, but that costs less than a night in a hotel so it is worth the extra expense. The Visa Fee - 810 RMB CITIC Industrial Bank Sub-branch in CITIC Plaza, just a short walk from the consulate and could do this on Monday morning. And a 20 RMB fee for visa delivery to the China Post after the interview. I would plan on at least 100-200 RMB/day for meals. This may be too much, but it is better to have too much. You might have him call the number listed for Mr Xie and reserve a room, also he can discuss when he should arrive to get his medical based on his interview day of Tuesday. Sending money would probably be best done using Western Union, you want to go to the WU location to send the money and take cash, it will cost you $14 US. You will need the exact spelling of his name from his ID card. He will need to know the name used to send the money, the Transfer Number provided by WU and the amount you sent in US Dollars and RMB. He should be able to pick this up at one of the China Posts near where he lives. You can check the locations on WU web site. He will probably want to arrive at the Guangzhou East train station, it is very close to the consulate. Expect to stay for 7-8 nights so he will be able to pickup his visa 2 days after the interview. Last week the exchange rate was 7.91, so $100 US = 791 RMB. This is based on a successful interview, if they request more evidence he might need to stay longer to get things organized for submission. He would probably want to get his immunizations done in GZ and get a yellow book, it often costs less in China. I seem to recall the basic immunizations cost about 400 RMB. If he has an immunization record he should take it with him. I hope this covers everything. Be sure to have him call Mr Xie to discuss timing of his arrival and reserve a room. 229101 Very well posted. I would recommend Mr. xie as well. In fact, I was living there on my interview. His girlfriend could give your evidences a review and point out the weakness so you can be prepared. I would estimate 3000-3500RMB(total cost) for about 5 days of stay which I think will be what he is going to do. But again, that might all depend on which of interview you are getting at. Good luck with the interview. B)

6. Good for you! And we all waiting for you to post something later... in chinese of course.
7. "When can I get my P4?" - When GZ is ready. Seriously, you can check out some of the timelines in the signature but thats just a rough guess... everyone has their own luck.
8. My sugguestion? Never miss anything! It might to be too late for you now... Good luck tho...
9. As far as I know it could take up to 3 months since your NOA2 until your SO recieve package 3. As long as you still in that time frame, I say nothing to worry about yet.
10. You guys just started for like one month? Well... Make very sure that the process is as smooth as possible...
11. Average time doesn't mean anything. For some people if they want to double check the back ground, it could cost a major delay... As long as you are sure that they have recieved everything they should, your P4 will come sooner than later.
12. That is quick! Our AOS, from filing to interview, took 19 months. 222674 Oh... really? Only 6 months here... I guess I just need to claim down...
13. Congrats! And thanks for sharing!
14. It appears that RFE's for AOS fall into 2 categories with the new system. The first is when Chicago reviews what was sent, they are basically looking for the required information and appear to be the ones who began requiring the vaccination supplement as a requirement in spite of what the instructions said. The other instance is if the case is sent to CSC and they are just getting the final questions answered for AOS without an interview. Others have been asked for additional information at the AOS interview and been ask to supply additional evidence to complete the process, so I guess you could call this the third category. I don't recall seeing any other RFE's for AOS, but then I could be wrong in my observations. 221473 I don't know where we were sent but it was asking for fiancial evidence... so does that mean we can skip the interview? 221549 On your I-797C, does it have a receipt number? This is usually a dead give away for who is processing your form. It should look like XXX-00-000-00000. XXX could be VSC (Vermont), TSC (Texas), NSC (Nebraska), MSC (Missouri) or if your real lucky (CSC) California. If you don't have one, then maybe Chicago made the request. 221559 Looks like I got the MSC (Missouri) And I was trying to call them with the reciept number and the phone keep telling me short of digit... Drive me crazy

16. C4racer, Thats great info you had there. Thanks alot! Sounded like my case is normal... I just don't want it get lost again.. other than that... I don't really care how long it takes. We always seem to have the bad timing... the first time costing we lose 1 year on K1 was bcoz Steve relocated to here and this time, we moved to a new house(I made sure that they recieved my change of address and recieved their confirm mail...). I just dont feel like to recieve another notice few months later telling me that they couldn't contact me or for whatever bullXXXX reason that I was forget by the system. Thanks again folks... I was just wondering how long(how much additional time) it usually take for REF?(We are not good at paper work and always hit by the REF so...
17. You are lucky birds... Can't tell you how many times I've been kick myself in the a$$ that we didn't start the entire process 1 year or 2 earlier...
18. Thanks a lot man. New system? I have never heard about it... I thought the delay might have something to do with the illegal immigration movement...
19. I have no idea yet. My files were belong to NSC and I thought there is only 1 place you send your files... well... after all... there is only one word for all solution... wait... I guess...
20. Thanks Lee... I almost went nuts when the phone keep telling me that my receipt number is short of digit???
21. So, to short of the story... I am having another immigration nightmare here. We filed AOS in last year, got a RFE in Jan. and sent it out at the end of Feb. The status saying that it was recieved on March 6 which has been almost 3 months and we haven't heard anything from them yet. (NSC) I've noticed that the finger print notice doesn't take more than 2 months for most people... Always seems to have "start up process luck"... both on K1 and AOS... kinda tired of it... sorry for bitching about it. But is there anyone else having the same problem or is it just me? Guess I just wait another 1- 3 months?! (according to the website... 120-180 days.)
