  1. Our first NOA was Nov. 6, and our second was Dec. 17. California Service Center
  2. I thought sure there would be an info link somewhere on Candle, but I could not find one. Does anyone know where we would find information on my wife becoming a U.S. citizen?
  3. Congratulations. We will be doing same in a few weeks.
  4. The letters DO get read, I think! How's this for sick irony? From the time I started the process until the day she arrived in the USA took 1 and 1/2 years total. During that time I called, faxed, emailed or wrote to everyone I could think of - including President Bush. About 2 months after she arrived I got a letter from one of the State Dept. staff, saying they would look into it. About 6 months after she was already here, I received a reply from President Bush's office, saying he would look into it.
  5. Yes, copy and paste the letter (editing to your personal tastes) if you don't feel literally inclined to compose your own letter from scratch. Many individual letters on the same topic, I believe, will have a better impact. This is the method we used a few years ago. --a member of the original "black hole" of '02
  6. Welcome, It's good to see things moving faster nowadays. . . . 4 days from application to NOA 1? It took us about 6 weeks. Hope the rest of the process goes as smoothly for you.
  7. Overkill is always ok, but you will be fine. I took 3 emails, 0 phone calls, about a dozen photos. Evidence was never the problem. Again. . . you will do fine.
  8. JPD, My advice is to read some of the OLD posts (circa 2002) from some of the original regulars. If you then come to the conclusion that YOUR wait and problems with the INS may just be a bit less severe because of the effort, teamwork, and actions taken by the earlier members. And no doubt the actions, support, and teamwork taken by today's members will help future petitioners. Let's face it; our gov't is basically clueless. It's up to us to show them the way.
  9. I have no faith in a marriage in which one has had an affair while still in the "honeymoon stage," but it is not the government's job to judge morality. If he is willing to forgive, then he obviously believes in their love and that their marriage is worth the gamble to continue it. Personally, I would seriously doubt the sincerity of love and committment of the person who cheated, especially at such an early stage. But if he is willing to forgive and she is willing to try again, the government should stay out of this couple's private lives. Isn't this one of the basic freedoms for which our country is founded?
  10. It has been a little over a year since that trip, but it took about 30 minutes from landing until she walked into the receiving area to freedom. We scheduled out connecting flight to LV for 3 hours, but 90 minutes would have been more than enough.
  11. I don't know what I would have done without CFL during those long months in which I was dealing with the seemingly FUBAR INS during the "Black Hole" days. I feel indebted. Because I have several websites, I own a reseller hosting account, meaning I not only sell web hosting, but I can also sell (or donate) some space which I am not using. It would be no problem to donate 500 MB, as I have plenty. Bandwidth is more of a premium to me - how much do you need per month?
  12. I got this letter more than a year ago! It seems form letters are still popular from GZ.
  13. no problems, and very quick in LAX. You wait up front in waiting area, very easy to see when fiancee arrives.
  14. You have more than I sent, and our interview went fine. I sent about half dozen digital photo prints, and about the same number from a 35mm camera. I sent copies of 2 emails, one snail mail letter to her, copies of all receipts from my trip to Beijing( hotel, meals, taxi, Great Wall entry card, etc.). One thing to really impress, if you have one, would be a group photo of you with her and her family.
  15. Our AOS timeline - smooth and efficient here in Las Vegas!
  16. I think that is EXACTLY the point of this story.
  17. Bingo! This is the correct answer. And the tax forms do not need to be notarized. Only the I-134 needs notarized. GZ only requires the most recent tax form. Might as well send them the most recent 3 years, since you will need 3 years for the I-864 anyway (after she gets here).
  18. Why dogs are better than women And, Ladies, just to be fair. . . Why dogs are better than men
  19. just fill two regular I-134 forms, with the same beneficiary name.
  20. We had copies of 3 emails and 3 snail mail letters, pictures of us together, no phone calls at all. I would say your 2-hour video would more than suffice. Don't worry about lack of phone calls. We had none. Interview only lasted less than 5 minutes; only asked her 2 questions. Very simple. Don't worry.
  21. Very important: You must have 5 times the requirments in cash and assets as you would need in income
  22. I don't know from where you will be flying, but from Monday through Thursday, it is possible to get hotel rooms downtown for $20/night. SW airlines frequently has internet click and save specials to LV.
  23. Need any info on getting married in Las Vegas? Just PM me when you get ready to come, and give me a call when you get here. You can get married here in less than an hour total if the wedding chapel you choose is not too busy. You just go to courthouse and buy the license, then go to the wedding chapel of your choosing.
