  1. Always copies unless asked for, as you dont get them back. I've changed the size of the papers to the US size for conformity.
  2. Ok, thanks, thats what I was thinking as the 130 is only stored till adjustment of status after she arrives. Yes, I have the VJ info printed out as I used the site before when going through the K-1. As far the "we are married", just a bit of fyi, in order to have the legal bit done, I had to go the US embassy in Bangkok and have an affidavit from them stating that I was able to marry. then we had these forms translated, went to the gov't office were they processed the info and we were sworn in and married officially. The actual ceremony was an all day affair (buddhist tradition) the week before. Let me ask ya'll this, because we havent been married very long, we have a joint bank account. I have a friend who went along and was there for the wedding, I'm going to have him sign an affidavit and a reciept for the bank account. thats all I have for proof under the new guidelines, along with bank records showing the ATM card she has that I am supporting her financially. On the bank forms are the local bank city and names in Thailand. When I go back in June, I plan to have the car I am buying there put into both our names. I should probably write that in there somehwere too. Any thoughts to you guys in the know......?
  3. thanks ds. I considered the CR1 but I just dont feel comfortable with this method. We've been married a very short time and I did it for her and her family, otherwise I'd done the K-1 which I had done before. I know the process. the only little twist is throught the Bangkok embassy. Which is much easier to go through than GZ anyway. I am confident aboout what I am doing, just needed some confirmation on the details to send and if things should be repeated on the 130 and 129f for proof of relationship. Yes, I will bring the 5,6 and 7 to the consulate, but this stuff is also required fo rthe 129f.....I need to prove the relationshiop is not a sham and is bonafide.........in order for the i-129f to be approved.
  4. Thansk Darnell- I've done the K-1 thing before, this time is different with the I-130. I know you send the 129f in later, just not clear if I needed to send all the documentation to prove relationship is valid. Apparently I do, thanks. yes folks, I have been here before in 2003. This time I am married to a fine lady from Thailand. Thought I'd revisit as the resourcefullness of this site is outstanding.
  5. I am sending copies, they state that copies are sufficient and if they need originals, they will ask for them
  6. Hello folks, I recently married a gal and am filing the I-130. here is a list I have prepared, any thoughts? It is too much? Should I be sending the same info for I-130 as the I-129f? I-130 Package contents Group 1- I-130 petition Group 2- G-325A Biographic Information for myself G-325A Photo Birth Certificate Previous divorce decrees Passport copy with visas Employment pay stub Group 3- G-325A Biographic Information for wife G-325A Photo Birth Certificate with translation ID card with translation Proof of residency with translation Previous divorce decree with translation Passport copy Group 4- Marriage certificate with translation Pay stub from translation service and receipt from US Embassy Receipt from joint bank account at Bank Letter from my daughter Group 5- Photos from wedding ceremony on March 24, 2008 Photos from March 2008 Photos from December 2007 Photos from October 2007 Group 6- Flight info and receipts from March 2008 Flight info and receipts from December 2007 Flight info and receipts from October 2007 Group 7- Phone receipts for October 2007 ¨C April 2008 Phone cards Emails copies I iknow a lot of this stuff should go withthe I-129f, but should it be sent with the I-130 also? if not, isnt it a good idea to do so also? Any input would be appreciated........
  7. Well, Hong-Li and I arrived in Philly late last night. Went through the LA POE. It was very quick comparitively for all the paperwork. I suggest letting one of the customs attendants know your with a K-1 visa and they will shuffle you into a short line. as we did....didnt take long, maybe 15 minutes at most. and then we caught our connecting flight to Philly. we took a nice walk this morning and now going to the local Asian market which is quite huge and has everything there...including live fish..... Have to get her a chinese hot water maker though.... other than that, everything is settling in quite well so far. Personally, I couldnt let her of done that trip by herself.....minimum, I think people should at least meet their woman at the POE then travel on with her. Hong-Li was really able to appreciate what I went through every 2 months coming to see her and the long arduous trip it can be for 24+ hours. She didnt realize what I did after her leaving me at the Xi'an airport till she did it herself. I also go to call her "laowei" for a change...:) Frank
  8. Hey Gang- I am in China now. in Xi'an, then to Hangzhou for a few days, then to Beijing where we will be leaving for the US. We are going through customs at LA and have scheduled 3 hours interim time at the LA airport before heading off to Philly. Any advice about going through customs? Are you still able to apply for a SS# at customs? Any I-94 info I should know ahead of time? Anything else????? thanks in advance Frank
  9. Hong-Li picked up her visa today......she passed the interview yesterday no problem-but I wanted to wait tilll visa in hand for sure...... interesting story too....here goes: We stayed at the vistory hotel the night before so would be easier to get to the consulate. we got there at 6;45am and stood in line. then in she went. came out at 10:18 with smile and white slip....... There is a VO, a black woman, they call her "Black Pearl", that is very serious about her job and is tough. All the gals on 001 are worried to get her. Well, Hong Li got her. She only asked 4 questions: 1-have you ever been to the USA? NO 2- Is your boyfriend divorced and any children? yes, 1991 and daughter who is 19 3- have you been married before? NO 4- You stayed in Singapore before? Yes, 1 year (the VO was heard saying "Oh, she can speak English too") OK, visa granted...... (i did tel her if she got the question: "why do you want to go to America?" to say "I want to try a Philly Cheesesteak">>> less then 4 minutes didnt see my passport or anything...looked at nothing, no photos, no I-134, nothing didnt want to see a thing I prepared 7 months for..... not complaining, just seems intersting so quickly with seeing no proof from a VO who has a tough reputation.......... I return to the USA on tuesday then rreturn to China for 2 weeks in June and take her to Lhasa for a visit..... Frank
  10. well, I am packed and doing little things to prepare for going to China again for 2 weeks. My gal's interview is on May 13. I am curious about all this talk about visa's on hold yadda yadda yadda..... I must say, the pre-interview anxiety has set in but am glad to see Hong-Li again. All the paperwork is done and over did with documentation of the 5 times (this will be 6) we have been together and taking my cam-corder to make a videotape so she will have everything. Also a had written letter from me with my passport on top of everything. Anything I should try to find out while I am there.....? (other than "when am I getting my P-4?) Frank
