  1. Dean, I was in GZ from 3/09 to today (3/17th) and our interview was on Mon. 3/15. It went smoothly (you can see more on my other post). We took the train from Hefei to GZ (21 hours) but I convinced Lisa to take the airplane back. Good Luck but I don't think you'll need it as the Candle For Love group is the best prepared and has the best advice & Hints. Special thanks to all those other guys who went before us. I was WOC (WithOut Computer) while in GZ therefore the late reply. I did hear that there is an internet bar on one of the streets but I did not want to look for it since we were having such a nice time. Good Luck & Best Wishes.
  2. Yes, we finally got to the finish line and got the K-1 Visa Approved. I did not have computer until today. Lisa was at window 11 with a very nice & kind lady VO. She asked about 15 questions mainly about the relationship. She did not ask anything about 2003 taxes (but I brought my W-2 & 1099s just in case). We stayed at Victory Hotel and used the Shamien Medical. Everything went smoothly as the Candle For Love team has a good record of Approved and the best advice on the internet. We leave Hefei for Beijing to Chicago on Friday and get married on Tue, March 23rd. Thanks for everyones helpful hints. Lisa is in the process of writing up her "homework" for the girls on 001, so I would suggest that your MM look there in the next few days for more specifics.
  3. Congrats & how much smoother could it have gone!
  4. I am trying to do things like Bryan to help ease the homesickness and since I live 20 minutes from Chicago's China Town, I am sure that we'll be there often. Although she says that is not important, I have been away from home and anything that reminds you of home is helpful. But, I was also hoping to arrange a USA-China Couples Dinner get together like they do in San Francisco and other cities. I know of some other couples in Chicago area from a year or two ago. I would invite those that I know to some restaurant in China Town (or where ever), where the girls can talk about similar experiences, difficulties, etc. Maybe even form some new friendships. What do you guys think?

  7. Congrats & best wishes in your new life together.
  8. Congrats and welcome. I am looking forward to hearing of her first impressions.
  9. Anyone, If the child is less than 17, say 15 years old, and she is not coming to USA, does she need to do the medical exam for the interview?
  10. Congrats and good luck! We hope that everything will go smoothly.
  11. Thanks for finding that email Dean. That helps sort out the rumors from the facts. There won't be much to file since I've been unemployed since 12/2002. So, I will start working on it now. Nice to know that our govt officials are aware of the federal laws regarding tax return filing.
