  6. this is only my method and it happened when i was in junior high and high school. i was living in the lower east side in nyc, the big apple or the rotten apples. it was the late 70's and early 80's, the asian kids always get jumped by the non-asian kids, before and after schools 24/7. we united ourself with the older teenagers in chinatown (more fighting experiences) and we took care of business, you know what i mean? after 3 years of battles (wins and losses), we were not picked on anymore, we won the war. t

  10. sorry, i thought your wife is still in china, misread your post. i also selected YES for my wife where SSA assigns a ssn and issure her a card. it took about 3-6 weeks for ssn to arrive. you may go to your local ss office and inquire about her ssn.
  11. i had the same situation where i wanted to insure my wife while she was in china, but she had no ssn, so no coverage. you may also want to check if your insurance company coverage extends to china as well. i found out that my insurance does not cover outside of USA, so it really does not matter if she is cover or not. she has coverage under my insurance now, after recieving her ssn. good luck.
  12. hi jin, i filed i-130 for my wife with marriage certificate and passport only, no pictures, no chat logs, no email logs, no letters or any other documents, but do bring all supporting documents to the interview in GZ. check my timeline. good luck

  14. http://thedaoculture.com/yinyang/easternph...id=2_4&no=4 The closest thing to a credit for this article was at the beginning "I found this post at a discussion group. I thought it was interesting enough so I post it here" the late chairman mao is flipping in his grave.

  19. hi michael, I130 takes about 2 - 3 months to process, see my timeline. good luck.
  20. What my husband said is true. but for the second question , we both have never heard of it. If you are doing "modern-traditional" Chinese way, then you will have to "knock the door of the bride", and her friends will ask you a lot of silly questions. you need to pay them off by sliding the small red envelope under the door. (usually only 20 or 30 kuai in each envelope). I don't know if this is what you are talking about. In China, the traditions are different in different places, hope this can help you some. i had to sing a song, do 10 push ups, eat a banna, and paid 999.99 rm in red envelpoe before door is open. if that is not enough, wait till the banquet, you and wife will be doing silly stuffs, like eating chicken ass, eat the cherrys off her chest, kiss when guests request it, roll an egg up one leg and go accross the zipper area and come down the other leg, and other crazy stuffs.
  21. RA, question 1 - all money received goes to the bride's family. question 2 - we had to return a red envelope to the guest when we received a red envelope. the return red envelope was only 2 rmb. we had over 200 guests at our banquet. her family is from toishan and traditions are very common in her town. the knock the bride's door was 999.99rmd. i hope this helps you out. good luck.
