  1. hi guys and gals, anyone knows the steps in getting a passport for our new born baby?
  2. i just recieved a letter from USIC yesterday. my wife entered USA on 4/12/09.
  3. classes you need to obtain a 2 year nursing degree in BMCC located in new york city, http://www.bmcc.cuny.edu/health/nursing/req_NUR.html. you can continue to a 4 year degree after the 2 year degree. here is another link for city tech college, http://www.citytech.cuny.edu/academics/deptsites/nursing/index.shtml, they have 2 and 4 year degrees. i dont see nursing is hard, just alot of big vocabulary and medical terminology where english plays a very important role in understanding the art of nursing. i told my wife that english is very important in america if you want to do anything in america, and that is reading and writing. good luck.

  8. i was surfing the net and came arross this site, http://cinarc.org/index.html, alot of researched materials of early chinese immigration, good reading materials but lacking the east coast migrations. "The purpose of this site and of CINARC is to encourage collaboration in exploring the history of Chinese in the Pacific Northwest - in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, British Columbia, Alaska, etc. - between the first known arrival of Chinese in 1788 and the great changes in the regional Chinese population that followed the liberalizing of U.S. immigration laws in 1965." (CINARC)

  11. did you try the tracert command to the website? here is a link explaining tracert command, http://www.mediacollege.com/internet/troubleshooter/traceroute.html. i do it when i have network issue at home and work.
  12. It sounds like you have more choices than anyone. Your antenna on the roof to receive free HD local channels made me do a search to see what was available to possibly be picked up where I live, and the only thing was one channel from the Ion networks, which obviously was not worth the effort. I don't have a TV anyway. Quit paying for cable years ago. I love the Zatoichi movies on Hulu. yeah, one of the advantage of living in nyc is the free HD over the air. i brought a 52 samsung HD and connects to a grid type antenna on the roof, the reception is much better then cable tv, so clear that you can watch programs from PA on a clear night. of course, the wife threw a fit and the mop was flying everywhere when i brought the 52 incher but that is another story. netflix, asus o play media device, roku media device and internet tv connect to my HD tv is so so much better than cable. all i need to do is buy a home theatre system and connect my blue ray, HD tv and wii player and i am set but i need to prepare myself for another mop job from my wife.
  13. i took out cable tv last year and stay on high speed internet only. the cost is 45 dollars per month, 7Meg down, 3up. i use netflix for my american programs and my wife uses the internet to watch her chinese programs. there is a media device called o play from asus, http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/media-players/2010/03/24/asus-o-play-air-hdp-r3-media-player-review/1, where the device connects to the internet and searches internet tv, such as china, hong kong and other international internet tv. the device can play other medias as well, but the internet tv is the best features of the device. i also have an antenna on the roof to receive free HD local channels. here is a link about canceling cable, http://www.cancelcable.com/watch-your-favorite-cable-shows-using-hulucom-netflix-and-itunes/16/, it was show on abc news.
  14. i wish them the best of luck and power to the gays/lesbian communities!!!
  15. amaro, did you explain to your soon-to-be-wife what a baptism is and roles of a catholic wife? is she a buddhist? is her family a buddhist? if she and family are buddhist, will you understand buddhist ways? will you convert to buddhist one day? would your parent oppose to you for converting to buddisht? can catholic and buddhist live together under one roof? too many questions to answer down the line. many young people in china are getting married in church but they are still buddhist at heart. couples just want to want have a western style wedding. i'm not christian, catholic, or any western religions, only practice buddhist from what i see from my parent.
  16. i would sit and read the link, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_in_the_People's_Republic_of_China and have a cup of coffee as well. the list is long but very interesting reading and gives a good summary of the chinese government.
