strange...all the hotels i been to in china, they don't have heat, only heavy heavy blankets in closet. AC is given but never heat from my experiences. i remember my first hotel in jianmen, turning up the heat but only cold air coming out of the vent. i thought it would take while to heat up but nothing, only cold air. i called front desk and asked for heat and they told me no heat, only heavy blankets . every hotel i went, i checked for hot air and nothing but cold air.

i would check what kind of toilets they have in the hotel, sit or squat. most modern hotels have sit toilet but it never hurt to ask before reserving a room. i learned the hard way on my first trip to china. the hotel had a squat toilet and i checked out the next day to a sit toilet.

i was treated the same behavior when i was in elementry school and junior high school by the ABC kids, ABC aka american born chinese. we were considered FOB kids, fresh of the boat. i don't speak any english or know anything about american customs when i arrived from hong kong. it was a rude awakening for me and i told my mother about it and i refused to go school. later on, i hand out with the FOB kids where we support each other and help each other. i know how you feel to be treated by your own race. its a shame. i would not care about other teachers and stand your ground. i remember the FOB kids fought against the ABC kids but that was when we were kids and had nothing to do in school but start trouble. we were young and non-mature kids

hi maisflocon, you can start by reading this link from NVC, http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1335.html, it list all the documents you need to submit to NVC. 1 - yes 2 - submit DS-230 part 1 and 2 3 - yes 4 - i did not submit my birth certificate for petitioner 5 - yes 6 - yes 7 - copy of passport biographic for her 8 - i did not submit my naturalization certificate 9 - yes and i submit 2009, 2008, 2007 i mailed the original birth certifcate and marriage certifcate to NVC and my wife recieved the above original documents back after the interview in GZ. tax transcripts from IRS is ok but i mailed my 2009, 2008 and 2007 tax returns. you can read my time line for reference, good luck.

the chinese asst. VO was collecting information for the VO while she waits in the room, IMHO. i dont know if this is normal procedures but he/she should prepare for anything during the interview. good luck.

my wife's QQ account has been stolen 3 times and our chat history is gone. i recommend using MSN CHAT, not much people would steal it. she used the MSN CHAT when she went to the interview last week. the VO didnt brother to see it.

cguo7, in your case, you should only check "yes" to item 8 and check "yes" underneath item 8. you are not sponsoring people listed in #9. i checked both "yes" on my wife's form. she got her visa yesterday.

congrats mike. did you try this place, www.13711105224.cn. dylan, hy020's wife and my wife stayed at this place, no complaints or anything. you may get the same answer because of the fair in GZ. my wife recieved her ds-230 part 2 only in the p4 mail. funny thing is that the vo didnt asked my wife to sign the ds-230 part 2 after getting her pink paper. i dont know why but make a point to your wife and ask the vo does she needs to sign the ds-230 part 2, question 35. good luck and bring the pink home!!!

i asked my wife regarding the DS-230 during the interview and the funny thing is that she did not sign part 2 of the DS-230. the VO didn't ask her to sign. i don't know why but i hope its not a problem for getting her visa. the VO didn't give back the DS-230 to her or request new DS-230 from her. i hope its just a minor problem.
