  1. These will apparently come from the IRS, based on your 2018 or 2019 tax return. If your Income was too low to require filing, you will need to file anyway. I have filed for an extension for my 2019 return, since my 2018 return has an address that is no longer valid (my mail forwarding service moved to NJ). The IRS will also be setting up a website where you can provide your direct deposit information, if they don't already have it. The refund will apparently come throughout the 2020 calendar year, so no hurry. I think you will even be able to claim it through your 2020 tax return. from the IRS - make a note of the 2 web sites I've provided links to here so you can check back later. 2. I am not sure where this should be posted, I tried to find an appropriate thread, but I didn't see anything that seemed right. I just wanted to post this as general information, in case someone still hasn't received their "STIMULUS CHECK". We filed an amended return at the end of "JUNE 09" for our "08" taxes, the day Yizhen received her SSN. We received our STIMULUS CHECK, and a receipt for the amended return on OCT. 15th. If anyone has not received their "CHECK", please file and get your money! so you can help stimulate our economy! Mike and Yizhen
  3. http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=179095,00.html If you look at limitation... a ITIN number or an ATIN number is not valid You need a SS number.
  4. wife came here on march 2008 and we filed jointly for the year of 2007. Since she didn't have SS# by the time we filed our tax so we used a ITIN and because she didn't have a SS#, we didn't qualified for any simulus payment for the year of 2007. Now she has sucessfully got through the AOS process and obtained her greencard and a SS. now i've got 2 questions? 1, How did we claim our stimulus money back for the year of 2007 the following is the link: http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=181995,00.html I just don't know how to process it. 2, for the year of 2008, when we file next year, do we need to tell IRS that my wife has gotten a SS# now and will be using that SS for the year of 2008, since she used her ITIN for 2007. any opinions and helps will be greatly appreciated
  5. Momentum building for new economy-boosting package The last time Congress gave a tax rebate families where an ITIN was used instead of an SSN were excluded from the rebate. This was pure discrimination against these families mainly due to the laziness of Congress. They wanted to keep illegal aliens from receiving this benefit and treated legal aliens as illegal in the process. Take a few minutes and write your congressional representatives, it only takes a few members of congress to take up the cause to prevent this injustice from happening again.
