So , it turned out that Suzhou custom has the parcel and they sent out a notice to the recipient, my father in-law yesterday and He has to go to the post office at Suzhou and go with the employee to the custom there to claim the package. According to the new regulations of the china custom, any product or package that is worth more than 400 yuan (chinese currency) will be suject to china custom inspection and a duty will be determined. I wrote down 80 dollars for the gift I included in the package, and it was therefore handed over to the closest custom to the recipents home address. lesson learned

Hi all Just wondering how long it would take to clear custom in china. We've sent a parcel with the original docs to the in laws for their upcoming interview. It was being processied by the custom since the 12th of this month. I sent expresses with USPS. They should have gotten on 14th Monday. If for some reason it got held up. We have to resend the docs. Now. We ve already sent the original copy of our marriage certificate and my wife s birth certificates in the previous parcel. Luckily we kept copies of them but not the original. Do u think that Guangzhou embassy consulate will accept that if they don't get the original Please share your similar experience. Thank you. If we know that sending a gift along with the original docs would be held up at custom we would nt have sent the gift. Just the docs only.

Hi dnoblett I am actually going through the same process of getting my wife's parents to come over. My situation is as followed: Their petitions have been approved and sent to nvc and I've received the emailed aos bill last week with the attached ds 3032 forms. I haven't optin for eprocessing yet. But want to. At this point. What I have done is : I have the in laws emailed nvc for the choice of agent ( about a week ago, no response except for the auto one) and I paid the aos fees online. Still waiting for the iv fees to be generated. When should I expect the iv fee to be generated from nvc? I am in the process of collecting document for the affidavit of support. Should I wait till nvc generate the iv fee ans pay it ans then send the aos ans iv application together or should I send aos first? At this point. Can I still optin for eprocessing cos I still haven't sent anything yet except for paying thr aos fee and have them emailed the choice of agent. How long will it take for nvc to respond to the optin email and choice of agent email. I really want to expedite this process so that they will come here at the end of this year. This is how the normal state side process for I-130 works, Beijing is not involved at any stage. Petitioner mails an I-130 to USCIS office in the USA mail address changes SEE: http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD I-130 is approved and UCIS sends it to NVC NVC informs petitioner of assigned case number Petitioner can email NVC with case number to opt in to eProcess, I-864 is sent to NVC along with processing fee Beneficiary sends Choice of agent to NVC designating petitioner to handle sending further papers toNVC Beneficiary sends DS-230 along with other requested docs to NVC Payment is made to NVC NVC sends case to Guangzhou and schedules interview Interview happens in Guangzhou (If opted for the quicker e-Process at NVC all docs that were scanned and emailed to NVC need to be brought to the consulate when interviewing. Petitioner can travel to China and accompany beneficiary to the consulate in Guangzhou however cannot actually be in the interview, petitioner will wait outside the consulate.

Hi, Wife just got sworn in as a citizen and wanted to petiton her parents to come here. now I have a dilema. She wants to get her parents tourist visas while the petitions are in process. Is there gonna be any conflict and will they be denied because of the petitions are in process? or should we get them the tourist visas first and have them come here and put in the petition and wait out the process and do an adjustment of status. I guess my question is: do they have to go back to China for the visa interview if their petitions got approved while they are here on a tourist visas or can they just wait out the the process here and get interview here for their green cards. She wants them to be here first and start the petitions. If the process takes longer than the visas allow them to, can they extend or renew the visas and wait for their green card?.... what will be the best approach to bring them here?... Any help will be appreicated ... thank you so much...

Hi, Wife will become citizen in the next couple weeks. She wants to petition her parents to come here. I just went through the I-130 form and notice that it doesn't seem to require as much relationship supportive documents as I did for my wife. I am just wondering if I am missing any documents to prove their relative relationship. On the instruction form. it only tells me to send copy of her birth certificate and her parents marriage certificates it doesn't ask for pictures, letters, of to fill out any g-325 for each of her parents. is this true that that's all i we have to send with the petition application? Please help if i am missing anything here. thank you

No. She does not need a visa to go back to her own country. She will be able to get in with her chinese passport and come back with her GC. Unless she tends to stay there for more than a year, then she would have to apply for a reentry permit ( good for two years) to come back to the u.s. If she only stays there for a few month. then she is all set. hope this helps.

Hi, just wanted to know the process for petitioning the in-laws to come here. Wife just passed her citizenship interview. I understand on the day she takes the oathe, she will be able to start the petition process. Here is the question. Once you start the petition application, could her parents still obtain the tourist visa to come vist during the process? or she could get her parents visa to come to vist and then start the petition process and have them wait here ? I guess my question is , can she start the petition while they are here on a tourist visa and wait out the process or she could start the process here while they are here and have them go back to china for the interview or they can stay here for the intervew?....Please help clear up these confusion for me. appreicaite any help. thank you

Do they have to apply like they did the first time exactly, or is there some slightly different procedures since they have been granted a visa before? It's been a year since they last visited the united states. Actually, they have been visited here twice with the same visa since it was good for a year. They came here the 2nd time before it was expired. Now, they wanted to come again. Are they gonna be running in trouble at the interview if they come 3 times within two years? Where do your in-laws live? Guz is so corrupted man. I think it also depends on the region that you live in China. If you live in a high income area, then the chance of getting approved is very high. My in-laws went through the interview in 5 mins and only a few questions were asked. It took me a lot longer to prepare the application and documentation for them. They are also both retired and my wife is the only child. btw, They are from the shanghai area. I was told by my wife that people in that area don't want to come to the u.s at all. Life there is much more exciting than it is here.
