  9. Wow, I can't imagine being stuck in NVC for a year!!! That's a crime!! I'm there now and don't think I could make it waiting a year with no word about why. All the best of luck getting to the bottom of your case and moving it on to GUZ!!! I really feel for you and your SO's frustrations!! Hang in there and don't back off till you get an answer.
  10. Congratulations!!! I sure hope my SO has that same disappointment due to a quick and easy interview!!
  11. David, most people that have complicated taxes and claim many deductions cannot file taxes until mid February, since many banks and other investment companies do not send out the final 2005 statements until late January or first week of Feb. If a VO asks for taxes or proof of income for 2005, telling them 2005 taxes have not been filed with IRS yet, should be good enough. Taking 2004 tax return and any form of year end income statement for 2005 to the interview would be a good idea, but not the final filed tax return if you don't have it. You can't show the VO what you don't have and they can't expect you to show them something that is not possible to show them at the time of the interview. Many people that have to pay taxes, don't file till April 15.... If they don't accept that answer, I would be very surprised and it should be easily overcome if they do.

  22. James, I guess if there is only one BOC location in Fushun, you were kind of stuck... sounds like that 6% surcharge on your credit advance was too attractive for them to pass up. I would have told my SO to ask to speak to the bank manager if a teller told us that. Don't give in next time... banks are obliged to cash traveler's checks... they are like cash. Threats of reporting them to AMEX might cause them to change their tune also if they persist... My SO would give them hell if they tried that with us... she's too tight with money to pay any surcharge!! In Nanning and Guangzhou, I have cashed AMEX traveler's checks at many different branches of BOC and never had the least bit of problem with it. You were had!
  23. Is this a K-1 case? You didn't say what type case this is... maybe you have stated this in other posts that I haven't seen, but it would be good to repeat this or put a timeline with this info in your signature so people know your situation when you ask a question.
