  1. Maybe not so easy. My son plays in a spring time semipro football league and last night I took my wife to a game. We were loosing 18-0 and scored. She said "goot now 18-1 WE WIN!" OK, I know she has never seen a football game before and she didn't know a TD was 6 and not one points--but how did she figure that going from 18-0 to 18-1 or 6 or whatever, is winning. I made several feeble attempts at explaining but soon shutup in defeat. Then she noticed the Down marker and how it changed. She somehow deduced that it gets harder every try and they change from 1-2-3-4 because you get more points when it get tougher. Once again, I tried but again shutup. Finally we were behind 24-22 with a minute to play and ran the kickoff inside the 10. 1st down--"bu hao, no can win with 1 point only 24-23." 2cnd down-- "bu hao, can only be tong 24-24." 3rd down "now we win 24-25." We scored and won the game. Now I'll never convince her that her scoring system based on what down it is is not right. So, I'll just shutup and say "su, tai tai"
  2. Yup, you are correct. They even sent my check back. Arrrggg, I'd pay them twice if they would just get it done. I had sent the paperwork for EAD/AOS/AP at the same time in the same envelope for Fang Ling and her daughter (all seperate checks). It would not take anyone brighter than a dumb rock to figure which box should have been checked. But then a gain, these are Gov workers and maybe I've just insulted rocks.
  3. They cut the bamboo into thin strips, then laminate it to make solid plank flooring. It is supposed to be as hard as other woods, but I must admit that I have already scratched and dented it a couple of times It does, however, make a beautiful floor. ---- Clifford ------ Yup, it do look nice. Now do I win a prize?? Huh, do I?? What did I win?? Is it a new car?? I think it is a new car. Is it a shiney new red car?? I think maybe it is. Oh Ok, you get the prize and the prize is (insert drumroll here) A shiney new (pause for effect) VISA!!!!!
  4. Robert, ya best be kirfull how ya word stuff 'round cheer. Big ol' slice o what?
  5. Timelines?? OK-AOS/EAD sent to Memhis 4-28. Notice of receipt for AOS recieved 5-22. Notice of rejection for EAD recieved 5-22. I forgot to check a box on the form. I thought it was rather cruel for them to state EAD REJECTED in huge bold letters when what they really meant was check the stupid box and send it back.
  6. Was they floor made from a Cheetos tree? Cliff, man I can't tell you how happy I am for you. I think we were all wondering if it would ever happen. I know many many people have been following your dilemma and I for one was really starting to think it was not going to happen. I believe I can speak for 99% of CFL when I say "Wahoooooooo!!!!!!! greenblob:
  7. OK Frank, we have just finished planting the graden and have several watermelon plants. I'll tell Fang Ling and she will stuff all the fish she is going to give Jingwen with melon seeds.
  8. Wanna bet!! Carl, it just gets better 'n better.
  9. I had a non-refundable/Nonechangeable ticket on China southern and changed my departure date in GZ. It costed aroound $80.00 if memory serves.
  10. Carl, I think I speak for many of us who "see the world through their eyes" when I say it is wonderful. We take so much fro granted and seeing things again for what seems like the first time is magical. Ling has been here 12 months now and everyday is better than the day before. I can't wait for tomorrow. Yea, it's the little things that tickle them. Breakfast in bed, an occasional flower etc.. I don't think they get much of that in China and they really do appreciate it. Yikes!! She is hollering "HUSBAND!!!! HUSBAND!!! I gotta hid now. Trigg
  11. Welcome to the Candle. We have a great bunch of people here (well most of 'em anyway) jump in and join us. Trigg
  12. GREATTTTTTTTT! Now when you read the "your wife might be chinese" posts, you will understand. Oh man will you ever understand. Carl. I hope you find as much joy with Bing as I have found with Ling. I think your gonna be a happy happy man. Now put down those cheetos and get ready for some real work Trigg

  15. My wife flew into SFO. Immigration and customs only took her about fifteen minutes.
  16. Another Commie plot started by the right wing hahahah!!!!!!!!!
  17. I guess CFL was down--but not dead. I emailed PJ and Wahoooo---he's the man-he fixed it. At 2:45 central time, I logged on and was the only one here--no new posts--kinda scary. Thanks PJ Trigg
  18. Sorry, As you know, we tried to organize everything while Carl was on the plane to China. Unfortunately it was difficult to find everyone in that 24 hr time period. Don & Longstrider were collecting the donations. But, perhaps it got hectic at some point. Everyone's input and good will are appreciated. And, if you were inadvertently missed, your sincerity is still appreciated. ----- Clifford ----- Wayne, it all went down in the blink of an eye. Several got missed but Carl knows it is from evryone. 19. Greg, If GZ got the P3 on Aptil 4th, even during their fast time it would be unlikley you would have an interview before July--looks like the wife has some travel time. Some are saying March p3's are going to be August/September interviews. It looks like GZ is waiting for thier next holiday or vacation or elections or a pay raise or or or or!
  20. You asked for a ventured guess, so I'll offer one, but by no means do I agree with or condone what I think GZ makes their "pre-decision" on ... I think they base it on age difference. The have the birthdates of both people before the interview, so they know what the age difference is. And if I recall, it seems to me that couples with a "wider than average" age difference get hassled the most at GZ. And so when they see a couple with a large age difference, they automatically put up a big red flag and assume the relationship is suspect, until proven otherwise. Otherwise, if the age difference is deemed "appropriate", then the VO says "Okay, whatever, here's your visa". Again, this is just my theory ... I don't agree with this or anything like that, so don't anyone fling poo at me for saying this, it's just my theory I think age is part of it. Also, times visited, hometown in china, how they met, and maybe number of contacts to GZ?
  21. If you are planning to marry, you will be applying for a K3 visa. I'm not sure of the procedure if she is already in the US. I am sure that you will need to show proof of everything. So a good start is to round up all the pictures you can find of the two of you together as well as pictures of her family. Find all your travel and hotel receipts. Look for all previous divorce and marriage documents. Get birth records etc.. Good luck and welcome to the Candle family. We often fight each other---but nobody else better mess with us- it's a brother thing. Trigg
  22. Actually Kim, I rarely drink but when I drink beer it is killy's red(sp). Bud gives me a headache. Brpppppppp!
  23. It's good to know something is happening. Good luck on the interview. It reallty isn't to difficult.
