  1. So....when he gets his green card he can apply for SSN? If that's the case I'm going to wait til then because I'm already looking at around $1700 for her and his AOS....then another $380 for her EAD
  2. so even though he is 13 we should apply for an EAD for him? EAD is work authorization...right?
  3. Based on what I just read from Randy's link, my step son has to have lived with me for more than 1/2 the year in order for me to claim him on my tax return for 2012. But, since his mom is also filing and he is HER dependent, WE can claim him......right?
  4. yes...my step son is living in the US and no one else will be trying to claim him. However, he doesnt have an SSN so not sure what to do about that as far as claiming him on my tax return
  5. We haven't completed AOS yet but this question popped up in my mind. When I file my tax returns next year, from what I've read it sounds like we should file married/jointly. What about my step son? Can I claim him as a dependent even though he has only been here since early September?
  6. Good to know. Actually my Dr. is a civil surgeon so that should help.
  7. Just added them to the insurance so I will see if I can get the vaccinations free
  8. My wife will need the vaccinations but her son has had them so I will take them both to the appointment with the civil surgeons. Just glad they wont have to get physicals again since they had those in GUZ
  9. Since my step son had his vaccinations in GUZ, we just give his yellowbook to the Civil Surgeon and he will fill out the DS-3025 for my step son based on the yellowbook?
  10. She did not get the vaccinations while in GUZ at the time of the medical exam but her son did. So we need to go to a US Civil Surgeon to get the vaccinations for her and send in the DS-3025 for her son?
  11. From what I am reading, my wife does not need to get another physical done since she had one in March right before her interview. She only needs to get her vaccinations. Is this correct? Also, biometrics...that only involves photos and fingerprints. Right? thanks again all
  12. Ah ok...makes sense. Thanks Dan!!
  13. Hi Dan. I glanced at the I-485 instructions and it mentions a criminal history. Will she need to provide a police record? I am hoping not since we provided for the K1 app. thanks
  14. Thanks Dan. Appreciate the help. What about "permission to work"? When/how can we file that so she can work before getting her green card?
  15. Hi all. We have been back in the US and married for about 10 days now. As we are now looking to start working on the AOS, is there something I need to do prior to filing? One thing that comes to mind is do we need to start getting her name added to power bill accounts, phone bills, bank account...etc to show proof that she and I live together? Appreciate the help thanks Don
  16. Thanks all! So glad to be at this point as I am sure you all can relate
  17. Wanted to get on here and try to be more active now that things have settled for us some. My fiancee, who is CCP, had her interview in GUZ on March 30th, 2012. She got a blue not as expected. 88 days later we got our call back letter asking her to send in her passport for the visa. Thanks for all the help, encouragement, and support everyone on the site gave us. I look forward to getting to help others as you folks did me. PS. we are now in the U.S. and Married
  18. Badgerman. I sent you a private message in relation to your post. Thanks
  19. My travel agent sent a copy of my round trip travel itinerary with my application and my Chinese visa was approved w/o problem or questions.
