  1. As long as his visa is valid, no problem for him to reenter USA next year. It means, for instance, if his visa will expire in December 2012, he can enter USA again before December 2012. If he does need to reapply for a visa, theoretically there is no limit on how long you have to wait. But at the interview, I think, the officer may concern why he needs to visit USA again during a short period. On the other hand, the officer may be happy with your Dad-in-law's good USA visit record. I never heard the story he knew. No worries. Wish your wife have a safe pregnancy. The baby will be born in the year of Dragon!
  2. Generally speaking, Madicaid is for people with disability and low income. You may need to check your state requirements. Since you have your own medical plan covering your wife, I guess you probably are not eligible for Medicaid. Also even if your wife enrolls Medicaid, your health insurance always comes first to pay the bills until it runs out and Medicaid will cover the rest. Actually usually private health insurance provides very good coverage for pregnancy. My health insurance covered all the cost of pregnancy except $5 copayment for prescriptions. Wish your wife has a safe and nice pregnancy!!
  3. If your wife wants to go for graduate study or switch to other undergraduate programs. below is what she needs to have. 1) Multiple copies (sealed) of her transcripts (Cheng Ji Dan ³É¼¨µ¥) from her graduating universities in China. The transcripts are in Chinese and English with her original scores, provided by her university. When she submits them to an US university, the admission committee will converse them into USA scores such GPA to decide her qualification. Credits which she earned in China will be accepted even you want to enroll a complete different program. After she get admission, the department adviser will let her know what courses she needs to take (or waive) to complete the degree. That will be another story. 2) Multiple notarized certificates of her degrees (bachelor/master/PhD) obtained in China from Gong Zheng Chu (probably prepare 3 copies). Some USA universities may require them especially if she wants to apply for a doctoral program.
  4. Email Guangzhou for advice of waiving shots. Rescheduling interview is not helpful for them because they may want to breast feed the baby for months (usually recommend at least 6 months by doctors). I am not sure if the required shots would have negative influence on the baby or not. I had flu shots when I nursed my son. I think probably only Guangzhou has final say. Good luck.
  5. If you use QQ, just make sure do not expose much personal/private information because QQ is not very secure. A few months ago QQ was caught for collecting people's information specially financial information. Also many people's QQ accounts were invaded by hackers. Watch out when you use QQ.
  6. Very glad to know your visa journey is happily ended. Congretulations. You and your wife can move forward with a new start. Wish you a safe and happy trip back to America!! Wish everything will go well in America!!
  7. Currently no needs to go to Guangzhou in person if she receives call-in-letter. She can mail her passport and Guangzhou will mail her passport and visa package back to her. You need to wait for call-in-letter to see the instruction in details. EMS is a very trustful delivery system run by China Post. If you and she want to go to Guangzhou in person, then just follow what she did at the interview. There is one or two windows open for handing in passport in the interview room. She can choose to pick up the passport at Guangzhou or mail it to her at the consulate. I do not see the need to stay there in order to pick the passport up at postoffice in Guangzhou. But it totally depends on what you would like to do!!
  8. I suppose that your English is good. So is it possible for you to write in English? Then you could get more inputs here. However, from your writing-up, I can see that your marriage is largely initiated for quick immigration ( I do not say that your two have no love). If it is true, the slow-down immigration process and long-time being apart from him will easily drive you frustrated. You said you quit your job and regret to marry him. Actually if you could treat your cross-country marriage as a domestic marriage, then everything will be easily solved. So do not let immigration become the only thing left in your life (Some members took years to complete the immigration), otherwise, you will remain unhappy everyday. Also, switch you to his position, not only let him know your feeling, you need to read his mind as well. Talking with him with new topics, new things, what you two do everyday will enhance your relationship. Marriage is different from dating. Sometimes it falls into daily repeated talks and things. Even though you still can find something new and excited.
  9. I am in the same postion for driving. I have no problem with local driving but scared with driving on the highway. My husband said, you did good before you went back China, why not now? I argued "I did not drive for a long time and I need to practice more." Last weekend he pushed me into highway, which drove me and him crazy. I may end up with hirng a tutor to recall my driving ability in highways :-))
  10. You do not have to wait all assumed evidences ready to pursue your immigration if you have all key documents. It will take a few months for you to get an interview in Guangzhou (EP will be quicker). Just move with the flow. Do not pause the process by you. You can bring more new photoes to your interview. I prepared many photos but Guangzhou did not take a look. Theoretically you need to take an action in a year from the immigration approval by USCIS in April 2011.
  11. Welcome home with your family!! Wish you had a happy trip from China to USA. Enjoy the summer!!!
  12. They use exact same writing style to similar inquiries. Even though I believe they refer to your wife in their reply. With patience, you have a plenty of time from the view of Guangzhou. But from me, wish you hear from them soon so that you can make a plan for the future ahead. I received my green card last week. It is about five weeks after my POE. So far it is done.
  13. Sorry to hear you are in a divorce process. Hope no much pain. But if I was Guangzhou, your case for new finacee would be denied based on what you presented here. You may want to inquire a lawyer. Good Luck.
  14. Just want to share a story from my friend. She has exact same situation with you. Her mother entered USA to take care of her baby and applied for extension after 6 months stay. The application was deinied. Then the Mom returned China and applied for a visa. She was rejected twice and finally got approved at the third time. I think deinal of extension may has bad impact on her future visa application. I prefer Dan's second suggestion. Certainly if you need Mom truely during this time, give a try.
  15. I think her previous student background is not counted as an immigration AP. Another blue slip probably is caused by her working history in US after Guangzhou finds out new things in her resume. Clearly Guangzhou asks for very diiferent kinds of a resume based on applicants' background. Wish she hear a goods news from Guangzhou soon.
