2 Yr Greencard waiting for 10 Year card and travel
Hobber replied to Hobber's topic in AOS & Immigration Challenges
Understood - Thx -
Hi all, Thanks in advance. My wife's two year green card expires Aug 28th. We sent in all the paperwork in June, received received of payment and had the biometrics completed couple weeks ago. We received I-797, Notice of Action receipt notice on 07/17/2014. It states amount received $590.00 and it states "Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year. During this period you are authorized employment and travel". Question - My wife needs to go back to China for a few weeks to help take care of her mother (surgery). Does she need anything else besides this letter and old green card to travel back and fourth from USA to China? She will be leaving next week but wont be back until mid Sept. Her 2 yr green card expires on Aug 28th. I just dont want her to have problems coming back in September with a expired 2 year greencard and only a letter stating its been extended for 1 year. Are we ok here? Matt and Lili

Just to verify as my wifes 2 year green card expires in Mid August 2014. We are ok to complete the paper work now and send in, correct? We are within the 90 day window. The only doc needed is the I-751? Thanks, Matt

Inlaws coming to USA for first time
Hobber replied to Usa450r's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Hi, Just FYI on my father and mother in-laws for their first trip to USA. All went well and the interview was literally 1 minute. First my mother in-law handed the officer my "letter to the embassy" I prepared and my invite letter to my in-laws. He read both and then asked 3 questions. Why do you want to go to America? Visit my daughter and her husbands family. Who will you visit? Daughter, her husband and his family in Utah. Do you have a copy of your daughters green card? Yes and then provided a copy. That was it. Pretty easy. Matt and Lili -

Hi, Hope all is well with you all. It's been a while since we have been on here. All is going great. Lili came over in December of 2011 and we married. She received her 2 year green card in August of 2012. When I did all the paper work I didn't send in the docs so Lili could work (we didn't plan on her working for a while). Now she wants to work? Can she legally work with the 2 year green card or do we need something else? Thanks, Matt and Lili

Wow, that was fast. We received the green card yesterday Quick travel question now that we have green card. What is needed when we travel back to China in November? Just China passport and green card only? What about if we decide to go to Cancun, MX or on a cruise? Same? China passport and green card?
