  1. Hi all, Thanks in advance. My wife's two year green card expires Aug 28th. We sent in all the paperwork in June, received received of payment and had the biometrics completed couple weeks ago. We received I-797, Notice of Action receipt notice on 07/17/2014. It states amount received $590.00 and it states "Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year. During this period you are authorized employment and travel". Question - My wife needs to go back to China for a few weeks to help take care of her mother (surgery). Does she need anything else besides this letter and old green card to travel back and fourth from USA to China? She will be leaving next week but wont be back until mid Sept. Her 2 yr green card expires on Aug 28th. I just dont want her to have problems coming back in September with a expired 2 year greencard and only a letter stating its been extended for 1 year. Are we ok here? Matt and Lili
  2. Never mind I used the search button lol

  4. Just to verify as my wifes 2 year green card expires in Mid August 2014. We are ok to complete the paper work now and send in, correct? We are within the 90 day window. The only doc needed is the I-751? Thanks, Matt
  5. Hi, Just FYI on my father and mother in-laws for their first trip to USA. All went well and the interview was literally 1 minute. First my mother in-law handed the officer my "letter to the embassy" I prepared and my invite letter to my in-laws. He read both and then asked 3 questions. Why do you want to go to America? Visit my daughter and her husbands family. Who will you visit? Daughter, her husband and his family in Utah. Do you have a copy of your daughters green card? Yes and then provided a copy. That was it. Pretty easy. Matt and Lili
  6. Thx Dan, hope all is well. Long time no chat...... Matt
  7. Good point. Providing more than the minimum can't hurt Matt and Lili
  8. Sorry, I signed in under the wrong name...... Matt and Lili
  9. Hi, Hope all is well with you all. It's been a while since we have been on here. All is going great. Lili came over in December of 2011 and we married. She received her 2 year green card in August of 2012. When I did all the paper work I didn't send in the docs so Lili could work (we didn't plan on her working for a while). Now she wants to work? Can she legally work with the 2 year green card or do we need something else? Thanks, Matt and Lili
  10. Wow, that was fast. We received the green card yesterday Quick travel question now that we have green card. What is needed when we travel back to China in November? Just China passport and green card only? What about if we decide to go to Cancun, MX or on a cruise? Same? China passport and green card?
  11. Good news!!! We checked status again with our MSC number and green card is approved. No 2nd interview needed. The system says we should receive the green card within 7 days. AOS Timeframe for us: Married End of December 2011 in USA Sent AOS 1 week later Completed Biometrics in Mid Feb 2012 Transfered to CSC Wait Wait Wait Check MSC many times Checked MSC number again and green card approved Sept 7th 2012 Around a 9-month wait for us Matt and Lili
  12. Hello, We are filling out the AP I-131. Section 7 asks to prepare a statement on a separate piece of paper explaining how you qualify for advance parole and what circumstances warrant issuance of such advance parole. We are going back to China to celebrate Lili's mom 60th birthday. From what she told me this is a big deal in China. We are also going back to visit Lili's Aunt who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer (she had surgery to remove yesterday) Is this an acceptable reason? Matt and Lili This is really not a emergent personal or business reason. Is this acceptable?
  13. Hi all, Question regarding the AP. We are still waiting for Green Card We want to go to China in November for Lili's mom 60th birthday. 1) All I need to fill out is the I-131 and send copy of our I-485 action letter? 2) I do not need to send in money for the AP? AP is free? 3) What is the turn around time to receive the AP? Is this AP a letter? We just show this to immigration at airport? 4) How long is the AP valid for? 5) How long can she stay in China with this AP? Thanks in advance, Matt and Lili
  14. Gotcha, no we didnt file either. Lili's not working and we are not planning to leave the country until she gets her green card. I made a call today. They said they would check status and get back in touch with us in the next 14 days....... We will just wait some more I guess Thanks, Matt and Lili
  15. I dont remember. I'll look in our file. What does EAD and AP stand for?
  16. I checked our status again with our MSC number. It still shows Initial review. Here: https://egov.uscis.g...d/CaseStatus.do (Use the MSC number on the I-485 letter) What is the link to send email again for them to look into whats going on? I forgot I remember sending email before and they usually responded within couple days. Thanks, Matt and Lili
  17. Thanks for the info......
