  1. I thought my English was good when I met my husband. But from his view, my English was..... :-)). So I consciously work on it whenever I can while in China and USA, and many times I feel I miss Chinese language after talking English too much for a while. He always encourages me and says "I saw some improvement". Till now, I still work on it and I think it will be life-time learning. My husband has been learning some Chinese but it seems much harder for him because he does not use Chinese in his daily life, unlike me. If you love her, give her sometime and encouragement. She will catch up. It is not that easy to handle another language easily especially when you pass the best age of language learning. Certainly, if she loves you, she definitely is willing to improve her English. It is a foundation in a cross-country relationship.
  2. Yes, if you want to quit, you can not just quit like quitting an occupational membership. The party will step in and it is the party's business. Stop paying dues does not work while she is in China. The party will come to her for dues and ask why. Yes, there are not solid answers because it is full of uncertainty and risk. That is why people keep it in the pocket until they leave the country. When she immigrates to USA, she quits her job, no link with her university any more, and then her university would not keep her human records anymore. Then no link with the party. No impact on her if she visits China in the future.
  3. If she quits, it probably will endanger her job even herself. Your guys need to seriously think of it. Better just go ahead and get visa first.
  4. Forget to answer your equestion 7 :-)). I donot think it is needed to provide a bank statement. We donot. We only provided 2009 tax return to NVC, and I will bring 2007 and 2008 tax return to interview if they want to look over. Few people are willing to let such a big amount of money just sit in the bank without doing anything. If your annual income is not much higher than the minimum finanical requirement, you may need to consider a co-sponsor.
  5. Quoted from http://www.state.gov...tion/86972.pdf. “INA 212(a)(3)(D)(iii) relieves an alien of visa ineligibility if his or her membership or affiliation terminated at least: (1) Two years before the date of application for a visa or for admission;or (2) Five years before the date of application for a visa or for admission, in the case of an alien whose membership or affiliation was with the party controlling the Government of a foreign state that is a totalitarian dictatorship as of the date of application.” So theoretically a waiver still is necessary if she quits now. From Paula’s case http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18469, a formal letter from her workplace about her quitting will be required if she quits. As you find, some are asked about the CCP and some are not at interview. I have no idea. But from interview reviews at Visajourney, almost all were asked. We are going to have interview soon and will report the result then. I think other CFL members will give you more inputs later.
  6. To your question 5: We are in the same boat. Please take a look at the link http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42851. Many CFL members provide useful information. Your girlfriend quitting the membership now probably would not be a big help. See http://www.state.gov...ation/86972.pdf. Also, if she did that, you two need to think what will happen to her before she gets visa. To your question 8: It is not necessary to hire an lawyer. We do by ourselve. Also you always can get good supports from this website and visajourney http://www.visajourney.com/portals/index.php?country=China.
  7. Can not imagine of such funny and silly questions. Your response is very smart and a perfect irony. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Thanks for all your replies. I was sure about the interview date but after reading some posts, got a little lost. Anyway, it is good to get it confirmed. Thanks. We are doing IR1 electronic processing. I need to submit all originals in addition.
  9. Guangzhou appointment letter states that my visa appointment is 12:30 on March 10, 2011. After reading some posts above, get a little confused. Correct me if my understanding is wrong. Documents hand-in is at 12:30pm on March 10 and visa interview is 7:30am March 11, 2011. Thanks.
  10. Yang's rental company website is http://www.yangjiahua.com/. But it is in Chinese. His contact information is Cellphone: 13724842886、13725270589 QQ number:576030015 Email:yang_jiahua2000@yahoo.com.cn
  11. From your statement, you seem you knew your ex's real purpose of marrying you when you sponsored her. You may need to demonstrate this time is not the case in your statement. Also let your fianc¨¦e know the details, she will be asked to demonstrate the relationship while her interview. Also your petition should not be close to the end of your previous marriage.
  12. Congratulations!! All best wishes to you and your wife. Very happy for you two!!! Wish no more people have to experience such a long painful waiting!!
  13. I have no idea about passport options. But as a mother, I think the more important is where is the best place for your wife giving a birth to your baby for the sake of their health and safety.
  14. Dnoblett, thank you for your insights which help us understand the laws better. Hiding/dishonesty is worthless. We always go with honesty. Thanks again for all of you!
  15. Thank all of you for the valuable help. I read http://www.state.gov...ation/86972.pdf and question about the following clause, "INA 212(a)(D)(iv): Exception for close family members, the Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS) may, in the Secretary¡¯s discretion, waive the application of clause (i) INA 212(a)(3)(D): (1) In the case of an immigrant who is the parent, spouse, son, daughter, brother, or sister of a citizen of the United States; and (2) Or a spouse, son or daughter of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence for humanitarian purposes, and to assure family unity or when it is in public interest, if the immigrant is not a threat to the security of the United States." (1) Does it only apply to past membership? (2) Does Guangzhou Consulate treat K-1, CR-1/IR-1 same regarding CCP membership since one old post indicates they treat K-1 nicer? Anyway thank you again!!
  16. Thank all of you. We will prepare a statement as you suggested. I am wondering any specific key points which should be addressed in the letter or just try to demonstrate CCP is required for employment including career development. Thank you.
  17. Thanks a lot, dnoblett. Should I prepare something ahead and submit to the Consolute at the interview? Or just wait for the interview to see what happens? It is good to hear that "the administrative processing for the waiver is fairly quick". Many applicants here said they had to wait for months. Thanks.
  18. I read many posts here that the applicants were asked about CCP at visa interview. If yes, more documents are required. What are these documents? Some mentioned that the Consulate gave the applicants a question form regarding CCP (like a questionnaire) to fill out and sumbit it later. Does anybody happen to know relevant information? Thank you!
