  1. There is a thread related to your questions. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?/topic/43172-property-titles-in-china/page__p__571628__fromsearch__1#entry571628 Generally speaking, because of property bubbles in China, China is tightening the property purchase and in a road to make laws about property tax through heritage. Hope your wife still her Hukou alive where her aunt lives. It will make things easy. But if you want the properties, you had better to get them before your wife becomes USC. Before China was loose on Hukou deletion when a Chinese become USC or other country’s citizen. Now it is totally different. A Chinese USC's Hukou has to be deleted. It will be checked at Chinese Custom when the new USC goes back to US. Foreigners can not purchase property in China unless you can prove your residence or working permission in China. The policy varies across the country. Inquire her local property authority.
  2. Beachey gives what you need to do with B2 visa. Only thing you need to focus on is how to prove your strong tie in China, such as your own family in China, your wonderful work and your properties in China. Actually your husband's retirement is a plus for you, which might demonstrate that you are breadwinner for the family. However just as others suggested, you are married and not for a long time. Immigration intent would be obvious and straightforward, especially you want to visit US shortly after married. If you do DCF, it means you have to give up what you have achieved in China and it is not easy. So try B2. My thought is that married to USC does not mean immigration is the only option to visit US. If yes, you have to go with DCF which will be applied by your husband.
  3. Just read an interesting article and think you may be interested. http://finance.yahoo.com/family-home/article/112736/name-change-dilemma-women-marriage-wsj?mod=family-love_money I keep my own name but I know he wants me take his last name. We discussed it when we got married. I said to him: it was too much work to make a change on my passport, SSN, driver license, and I am known by my name in the field, plus I would go back to China for my work, how about thinking of it in the future when we finally settle down in USA. Now I will move back. I am wondering what process it would be if change my last name. I have my name on my passport, SSN and driver license now. Thanks.
  4. --She will sign it at interview. Any style is fine. But theoretically should be her name in Pinyin. I did like that. --Put an address that she can receive mails from Guangzhou. If your and her apartment is not deliverable, then put a mailing address. It always is helpful if you can write the address in Chinese as well.
  5. Glad dnoblett corrects the information. I thought Davidq is doing CR1 or IR1. Thanks.
  6. All required shots have to be done before the interview. A vaccine list will be included in their medical reports sealed. So shots are not related with interview result. They would not let you pass without shots. Just simply assume all shots are good for them. I took three shots at one time. Although I did not know whether it is good for me, at least I know it is not bad for me. By the way, let your wife bring her daugther's "vaccine book" with her. All Chinese children have a vaccine book which records their vaccine history. It may helpful for the girl. Since your interview is set, it indicates all fees you have paid off. Do not worry about it. Bills will come to you rather than you go to find them.
  7. They will review your P3 documents to make sure they have everying. If not, they will send you a REF. If everything good, they will send you appointment package. It takes time. But I think Guangzhou is pretty quick and efficient.
  8. ----The shots are given according to the age required by US immigration. They can be given at one time but for children, it may need a break between shots. Medical report will be done when you get P4. Medical center needs to see interview appointment letter when giving a medical check-up. -----No more fees at all. You had paid them off. But medical fees need to be paid when they do check-up at medical center.
  9. No, it is not. The photogragh for medical report is 2cun (´ç£©in Chinese measure, which is required by Beijing meidcal exam centers. Not US passport style.
  10. For medical reports, your wife and son need to bring their passports, interview appointment letter, and 4 photographs (2cun*2cun). Medical reports will be sealed and turned them in at interview. I only had one police certificate and two birth certificates in white book.
  11. Plus bring your wife's original divorce decree in Chinese, and your marriage certificate (red book in Chinese), and your original divorce decree if any.
  12. Here is what in our submitted P3. Hope it helpful for you. We did IR1 EP. Affidavit of Support Documents: 1. The AOS Cover Sheet 2. I-864EZ Form 3. 2009 W-2 4. 2009 Federal Tax Income Return (first 2 pages) Immigration Visa Application Documents: 1. The IV Cover Sheet 2. U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou Packet 3 Supplemental Information Sheet 3. DS-230 Form 4. Photocopy of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page 5. Marriage Certificate 6. Birth Certificate 7. Police Certificate 8. Two Photographs
  13. This year I and my husband file joint tax with 2555EZ. I think it would not be a problem for you if you did not file 2010 tax yet. What do you choose on I-864? Just most recent year or three years? But whatever your wife better bring your three years tax returns to her interview even if you were not going to submit three years tax return with I-864. Since you work in China, you would not have W-2. But normally you should have a bank account where your income is put by your employer monthly. If you have it, you can make a copy of it as a proof.
  14. Thank you all very much for your good wishes. We will work on how to build a great life in US. I did not file a waiver. A waiver would be Form 601 with $585 fee to USCIS. I think what they did is called "SAO check". If you can not go through SAO, it may end with a waiver. But as others said, most people can overcome CCP issue at Guangzhou. The good thing, for me and others with similar situation, is that now we know the process could be done less than 2 months without exteral push/nterference.
  15. Go with advices above. Your married date and divorce date are too close, which clearly shows that the relationship started while you were married. Without a frontloaded detailed explanation documents, her visa will be with a red flag. Rather tell them earlier than late. Also tell your wife everything thus she can be well-prepared for questions at interview.
  16. Thanks, Beachey. Yes, it is. I think now Guangzhou really reviews case by case. We did not give any push to them. Hope your case will be done quicker than ours.
  17. Want to update my case. I received a Call-in-letter from Guangzhou on May 7, saying my visa is approved and hand-in my passport any Monday and Wednesday from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. It takes 57 days since my interview!! I flew to Guangzhou on May 8 (Mother's Day) and turned my passport in on May 9. Now wait for passport with visa package which will be mailed to me. I and my husband are making plans. He will come over Beijing to pick up me and the baby. Thanks for all helps and best wish to you all with quick and happy visa journey!!
  18. Hi, Guys, very glad to know your wife's interview is coming from a long road. Sincerely wish all goes well. Go Pink!! With visa journey, now I know why pink is a favorite color in US. So I choose a pick lotus as my avatar. Hope visa of everyone here goes with a pink, and life likes a lotus,a symbol of a harmony of husband and wife.
  19. I think the age difference will not be a "red flag" at Guangzhou and to me if your Chinese-American relationship can be viewed normal/common without the cross-country condition, for instance, your relationship could be viewed good if you and your wife/fiancée were both Americans, or both were Chinese. However, it is pretty common that an old American man with a young foreign wife. And it is also pretty common of a big age difference to a Chinese couple or an American couple, normally the men is with money, position and authorities. (I do not exclude exceptions without money, position and authorities but very rare). A person’s age can be compensated by money, position, citizenship or anything else which is attractive.
  20. By the way, your tax returns and SSN of your wife and you are definitely NOT needed for B2 visa by US consulate in China. The information about US residents is form I-134, a copy of the passport bio-page and invitation letter. Do not let some agencies fool your mother-in-law.
  21. It is not necessary to use a service for B2 for your mother-in-law. Some Chinese visa angencies specially target their business on elder people who have no knowledge about English and visa. Also some do collect much more information from two sides which actuallty is not used for visa purpose. Your wife is the best person to handle it and she can prepare all documents for her mother since B2 is pretty strightforward. As for your "Headache", there are three options: (1) If you decide to be sponosor for your mother-in-law, have a copy of your passport, invitation letter, some pictures of you, your wife and your Mother-in-lawm and family, and I-134 form. But on I-134 form, you do not need to declare all proerties you have, only disclose partial your property, like your annual income and some savings, which you think would be good enough to cover your MIL's stay in US. (2) Let your wife write invitation letter and she sponsors her mother. B2 visa does not require both husband and wife as sponsors. As sponsor, she needs to do what are listed in (1) and fill out I-134 form, not you! Does she work? Does she have saving account? Or your two have a joint account? If all is not, then the easiest way is to set up an account for her, put some money there (because you need a verification statement from the bank where the account locates). You do not have to put a lot of money, about 20,000-30,000 is enough. The advantage of this option is avoiding disclosure of family’s all properties and makes things simple. I myself sponsored my parents to USA while I studied and was married there. (3) Let your wife's parent sponsor themselves. They donot need to fill out I-134, which is used by USA residents. Take a look of the following link which shows what documents they need to prepare such as their bank accounts, salaries. But if they are retired or non-employed, then better choose the ways above since only their bank account saving information is not acceptable by USA consulate. http://chinese.usemb..._business.html. I recommend way 2 since it worked and we had my parents there without any problem. For B2, financial support to cover their stay in the state is important. But the more important is that your MIL needs to prove a strong link with China and will return to China!
  22. We need to improve many many for traffic, crossing streets randomly, driving randomly and parking randomly.... We need to keep in mind to follow the rule which has been challenged by some people's bloating pocket and authorities.
