  1. We got and RFE when we were going through the process, as Dan says wait for the letter, it will explain everything they want you to submit. I was asked for many things, some of which I originally submitted. Just resubmit everything they ask for. I was asked for my chat logs and e-mails and more photos. I had originally sent them parts of my e-mails to show evolution of relationship and 50 of my best photos over the course of the relationship. My original file was 2 inches thick, when I sent the RFE things back the file was 8 inches thick, I sent 1000 double sided pages of conversations on QQ and 500 double sided pages of e-mails and over 550 photos plus all other things they asked for, it held us up for 2 months but was approved anyway. Its usually nothing to worry about, just a speed bump in the process of a visa application. Good luck with everything and stay positive!
  2. When my wife flew over this summer, I bought her a first class ticket from Guilin to Shanghai, and then I used my miles to buy her a first class ticket to Chicago. They did not offer any extra luggage for new immigrants but first class is afforded more luggage anyway. Actually was a good thing I did it this way. The flight from Guilin was delayed 3 hours and landed at HongQiao instead of Pudong. She landed at HongQiao with 55 minutes to make the connection which did not happen because is a 1 hour minimum to get between the 2 airports, but because I had a first class ticket to USA I called the airline and was able to change her first class ticket to a later flight at no charge to me except 10 dollars. Was the final straw to a very tough time with her overall visa process, someday I will write the experience here.
  3. when I was there I just thought having notarized 30 minutes after her interview may help show we had the documents at the time. just hope they get things right this time Thanks for all your help and advice Randy
  4. I am gathering all the documents again to send overseas. Such a pain since the last ones I had the embassy notarize while I in China for the interview. Just hope this time they get it right. This case has been one big mess since sending in original application. Got RFE and sent in over 2000 double paged documents and 500 more photos. Then tried Electronic processing and NVC lost all e-mails and documents, took 4 moths to do EP. Then the embassy worker says my previous marriage documents were not needed at document turn in Then get blue slip for not having my marriage documents Sent them in immediately and now they say they not get them and have me confused with a fiancé visa. What a headache!!
  5. I e-mailed Guangzhou on LiYuan's case They say they have not received her documents yet, that were asked for on blue slip. We have receipt from EMS the day they got the paperwork at embassy. The department of state when I called them say they have the documents but have not processed them. So how to figure out who is correct? Also they have us confused with a fiancé visa. We are CR-1 has been about 2.5 months which I know is not 4 months yet on typical blue slip and AP, but if they don't have the documents I need send them over again. Will they accept a copy of the blue slip since already sent the original in? Very frustrated with all this. Thanks for any advice Paul
  6. Thanks much for your help and advice Randy, I called DOS and they said they do have my documents and they have no idea why Guangzhou sent me a K-1 visa number since it is not ours. Guess we just keep waiting
  7. The problem is that the GUZ number is for a non-immigrant visa that was approved, we are immigrant visa. So I have no idea what they are asking for. The blue slip was for my marriage documents they never took at document intake, since the person said they were not needed. Unfortunately since we can call no one, just using e-mail will never work if they are not sure even what visa we are. Plus they did not say what documents they are waiting for. Since I already sent in the original blue slip 2 months ago but made copies, can a person still send documents in this way or only through a courier as the new process describes? If can only with a courier then I have no way to send unless they send us new instructions. What a mess we did not need. Thanks
  8. Today we got an e-mail back from Guangzhou stating that we have not provided the documents they required yet we sent in on march 16th. Also they said we are using the wrong case number. Ours starts with GZO But they said in e-mail to use correct case number which is different and starts with GUZ The GUZ number says visa approved on CEAC sight. Is it best to call DOS on this and see whats going on? I was worried the shifting ways would cause documents to be lost. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated Thanks in advance
  9. We have been waiting 2 months now but e-mails just get us the standard reply form. They had our documents needed 2 days later but with the new processes in place now, my own personal opinion is it will take a long time for us to hear anything. I will be curious to see how the new white slip process works if a person gets denied, if they will send the files back to USA electronically or by the same way as in the past. Good luck with your case.
  10. How long should a person realistically wait before sending an e-mail inquiry? Myself am thinking maybe 2 months, any thoughts. One month has passed since her blue slip, documents were sent in 2 days later and mail was received 2 days after that at Guangzhou. Thanks in advance
  11. I have been to China 6 times in the last 2 years. Everytime I come, something is torn down and changed or moved.Even on the bus the other day I noticed young people not giving up their bus seats for the elderly on the subways as well. "Times they are a changin!"
  12. The media states it was 16,000 dead and diseased pigs and now a 1000 ducks were just found in a river in Sichuan. I saw a dead pig floating down river a couple of days ago in Guilin, looked like a 180 pounder that had been dead for a couple of days or so
  13. Happy to hear lil' rabbit is doing well. I cannot imagine the pain she was going through. My experience with Chinese medicine vs. Modern medicine took place in Singapore. I had a gout attack and went to see the doctor under the apartment building. He said traditional Chinese medicine will take 5 days to work or can have a shot and gone tomorrow. I opted for the shot.
  14. I thought I would write my experience and questions so maybe can help someone else. I arrived on Tuesday the 12th and Paul arrived tuesday night, we stayed at the Yangs, very nice people. On wednesday Mr. Yang arranged me the medical and wednesday afternoon I got the results. Thursday was document turn in day. A chinese worker took my documents and looked through them, said only 4 are important, the White book f marriage, my birth certificate and police certificate, also I-864 and said we needed original I-864 not copy and I said would bring to interview. He asked me these questions 1,who is your petitioner ? 2,how did you met ? 3,what is your husband ‘s job? 4,can your husband speak Chinese ? 5,can you speak English? he was surpised when I said yes. 6.when did you get married ? The next day is interview. The lady is nice and asks many questions about Pauls children. 1,when did you know each other ? 2,when did he come to see you ?02-24-2011 3,when you know each other a month more later ,he come to see you ?i said yes . 4,why did he go there? 5,what is he job ? 6,what is that for ?he work for 农业? 7,how many times did he married ?4, 3rd chinese wife. 8.how many kids your husband have ? 9,where did they live ? 10,are there live in the same city ? 11,what is they job ? 12,are they all married ? 13,are they have kids yet ? 14,is there any one apply a visa for you ?no ,only my husband 15,how many time did you husband come to see you ? 16.are you been to usa? no 17.,have you been to any country ? 18,not even out any country ? 19,are you a ccp ?no 20,what is your job?optometrist 21,what is that job for ? i said checking people’s eyes for glasses . 22,do you work for company or for yourself? 23.where is your hometown?yulin is what ?i said yulin is my hometown ,I working in Guilin . I answered all questions without hesitation. She asked about each one of Paul's kids, their work, where they live, everything. Not one question about his previous marriages. This surprises me since we prepare for them. After the last question she said thank you and give me blue slip, My mouth drop, I cannot believe. I ask for what and she said go to other window for explanation. So I went and they said need petitioner's marriage documents, blue slip for this? I had with me all along, the Chinese worker at document intake said these were not needed, not important yet I get blue slip for the things he wont take. I feel he is poorly trained and feel sorry for anyone who gets him for document intake. If not for his mistake I feel I would get pink. Paul get the documents certified and turn in already, since we had with us, sorry for so long article.
  15. Ok, Thanks Dan for your advice, always appreciated.
