  1. Mine was right on the money - Seattle Other locations were Tacoma and Salt Lake City.
  2. Earlier this year, one member from Canada had a K3 make it all the way to the Consulate (the I-129F became separated from the I-130 and made it to the NVC first); however, once the IV unit in Montreal got wind of an approved I-130 on-station at the NVC (it did eventually catch up), the IV unit at the Consulate closed the K3 and told the person to follow the steps for the CR-1. Where did these statistics, showing 12 K-3's that went all the way to interview (and apparently approval) come from? http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/stats.php One of two things Improper completion of timeline (most likely)Users didn't post their experience

  4. Great pictures. The Willis Tower was still called Sears the last time I was in Chicago, plus the last time I went to the top of that building, I took the stairs.
  5. Effective this past Sunday (9/1), the NVC universally requires use of online forms DS-260 and DS-261, replacing the DS-230 and DS-3032 respectively. This includes EP cases. http://travel.state.gov/visa/questions/news/news_4413.html
  6. I ended up "deleting cookies" and that resolved the problem. I had forgotten to untick the "remember me" box when I had to reenter my password (I had mistakenly used my VJ password one time).
  7. I click "sign-out" and it would appear that I signed out. However, if I close the browser, open it back up and come to Candle, it shows that I am already signed-in. What could be causing this? This only seems to be happening with Firefox, this is not an issue with Chrome.
  8. Thanks guys!
  9. Today by accident, I discovered this form exists . When we moved at the end of April, I did all the proper updating of items (including the AR-11) but was completely clueless about this form. I'll file it this week but I'm probably looking at some kind of fine.
  10. Jurisdictional restrictions for B-2 visa interviews were removed 2011. The in-laws can interview at the location of their choice. http://beijing.usembassy-china.org.cn/niv_faq/gq.html#2
  11. From some of the discussions on VJ, field offices are using dated field manuals; for example, field offices are issuing RFE's for the birth certificate of the beneficiary. The field office in Atlanta has become a black hole if a file was unfortunate enough to end up there, someone posted that they were told that none of the I-130's that were sent there starting in August have been looked at.
  12. Nope, this has been happening since August and it's not because the petitioner is being called for an interview or any other major red flag. I-130's have been routed from the lockbox to the National Benefits Center in Missouri and they either stay there or they are sent to a local office for adjudication. As I previously referenced, there are many discussions on VJ about this. Also, here is the official announcement from USCIS: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=c3c7ca7c5fed9310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=e7801c2c9be44210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD
  13. Congratulations! I remember those times when the time came to go home, and it downright sucked. Best wishes to you both in life and I hope that when you do being the process of immigration, it is relatively painless.
  14. Lately, I-130's filed on behalf of spouses have been sent to local USCIS field offices for adjudication instead of CSC (there are many discussions on VJ about this). I think VSC is still receiving I-130 for spouses, but I'm not sure.
  15. Just to clarify, the temporary green card is a combination of the visa itself and a standard entry stamp placed on the page next to the visa by CBP. CBP will write in the A# and expiration date on the entry stamp fields; this is the "endorsement" that is referenced on the notation that appears at the bottom of the visa.
  16. Tack on $165 each starting early next year. This comes into play after the visa has been issued but before the flight to the States. It's a fee USCIS is levying for processing the file that is handed over at the POE which results in the green card being sent out.
  17. You don't need your birth record from Michigan. As Randy has already stated, you won't need translations for the authentication process. The only thing that will ultimately need to be translated is your statement of single status. The marriage bureau in China will direct you to a translation office of their choosing.
  18. Congratulations! A CR-1 is typically valid for 180 days. It may be less than that depending on when the medical exam took place.
  19. I agree with this. When I went to Guangzhou for my wife's interview last year, I think it probably did me more good by the fact that I was simply there. I'll say this though, the wait from the time your loved one goes in to the time they come out can be excruciatingly long but will no matter when they give you the good news.
  20. Congratulations OP! I used the I-864EZ and it was accepted with no issues. I had my wife submit a revised one when she went for document intake (I got a raise between the time I submitted the first I-864EZ to the NVC via email and the time her interview took place); document intake personnel accepted the revised EZ form and did not give us any trouble.
  21. Judging by the timeline in your signature, you started the K1 process. For K1 cases, the NVC is nothing more than a mail stop, a case number is assigned and the file is sent off to the Consulate.
