  1. Congratulations! I'll tell you now, the time will come where Kya will assert her role as a big sister!
  2. Update, she was ultimately able to obtain an appointment when they visited in August (you have to get an appointment for these things, something we didn't realize last spring) and received her new passport a couple of days ago.
  3. Seattle WA? Did they provide a location? Have a webpage you found this? May help others find future dates in tfutue. YesYeshttp://www.chinaconsulatesf.org/chn/qianzhen/fzlxz/
  4. Update, at the end of March, the Consulate in SF posted information that they will be visiting our city for this purpose this month (one week from today to be exact).
  5. My wife's passport will expire next month and there is no information regarding mobile passport renewal on the website of the Consulate of jurisdiction (San Francisco).
  6. As others have echoed, hopefully she just got rid of those. Regardless of whether or not those pictures were "naughty" (which those clearly are not), some things just don't need to be part of a file and that is one of them. I read an interview over on VJ of a USCIS adjudicator who has seen people include naughty pictures in their files thinking it will bolster their case when all it does is provide for nothing more than "really" moments.
  7. If you file "Married Filing Separately" then you can write N R A in the box and not obtain an ITIN. However, if you want to file jointly, an ITIN will be needed.
  8. FWIW, I've seen many posts on VJ of people having no issues paying the fee after they arrive in the US.
  9. You won't receive any email from the Consulate.
  10. To echo A&B somewhat, I went to Guangzhou when my wife had her interview so I could support her. We had a strong case and I felt me being there would make a strong case even stronger. Furthermore, as nerve wracking as the waiting to hear the result experience was for me, it would have been much harder had I not been there. Go if you can, not only will you be supporting your spouse (most important), you may even be helping your own sanity.
  11. Having a child neither increases nor decreases the chances of success. With that being I have heard that it is very rare for a visa to be denied when a couple has been living together in the beneficiary's country. If a visa is issued, it must be used before expiration date that is printed on the visa. Validity of the visa is tied to when the medical exam takes place, the closer to the interview date the medical exam is conducted, the longer the validity of the visa. For example: Medical exam takes place in OctoberInterview takes place in NovemberAssuming the interview is successful and a visa is issued, then it would likely have an expiration date for the following April (6 months from the date of the medical exam)
  12. I have flown Hainan on all of my trips to/from China (they fly nonstop between Seattle and Beijing). Overall, my experience has been good. When I bought the tickets, I wasn't able to select seats specific seats. When I checked in for flights from Seattle, staff did ask me for a preference. It has been 3 years since I purchased a ticket directly from them so things may be different when booking through the website now.
  13. We needed the White Book when my wife went for the driving permit test (she took the test while her ROC was pending and the date on her green card had passed).
